12 best hair color stripper

A hair color stripper is a product designed to remove or "strip" artificial hair color from your hair. Here's some information about hair color strippers:

  1. Purpose:

    • Hair color strippers are used when you want to remove or correct an unwanted or undesirable hair color. They work by breaking down the artificial color molecules in your hair.
  2. Not Suitable for All Situations:

    • Hair color strippers are generally most effective at removing semi-permanent and demi-permanent hair colors. They may not work as well on permanent hair dyes or henna.
  3. How It Works:

    • Hair color strippers typically contain chemicals like sulfur or bleach that help to break down the color molecules in your hair. Some products also use a developer to enhance the process.
  4. Application:

    • Hair color strippers are applied to dry hair, and the process usually involves mixing the product according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    • After applying the stripper evenly throughout your hair, you may need to cover it with a processing cap and apply heat to help it work more effectively.
  5. Timing and Observation:

    • The processing time varies depending on the product and your hair's condition. It's important to follow the instructions closely.
    • During the process, it's a good idea to periodically check your hair's color to see if the desired result is achieved.
  6. Rinsing and Conditioning:

    • After the processing time is complete, you'll need to thoroughly rinse your hair to remove the product.
    • It's essential to follow up with a deep-conditioning treatment, as the process can be harsh on your hair, leaving it dry and porous.
  7. Results:

    • Hair color strippers can help lighten or remove artificial color, but the final result may not always be your natural hair color. You may need to follow up with a new hair color or toner to achieve your desired shade.
  8. Caution:

    • Hair color strippers contain strong chemicals, and using them incorrectly can damage your hair. It's essential to carefully read and follow the product's instructions.
    • If you're uncertain about using a hair color stripper, consider consulting a professional hair colorist for advice or assistance.
  9. Hair Care After Stripping:

    • After using a hair color stripper, it's crucial to take good care of your hair. This includes using a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo, deep conditioning, and avoiding excessive heat styling.
  10. Patch Test:

    • Before using a hair color stripper, perform a patch test to check for any adverse reactions or allergies to the product.

Remember that the effectiveness of a hair color stripper can vary depending on factors like the type of dye used, your hair's condition, and how well you follow the instructions.Always exercise caution and consider seeking professional advice if you're uncertain about the process.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this product remove my natural hair color at all
Answer: Unfortunately, it will not remove natural hair color.
Question: Is this ok to use on naturally brown hair? my hair is dyed black, but i do not want my naturally brown hair to go lighter than my original color
Answer: No, it should have no effect on your natural hair color. It should only remove the black dye. However, I didn't have very good results with Color Oops. If you're looking to remove the black, and you're not experienced working with bleach yourself, I would suggest going to a salon to remove the black.
Question: Will this remove blond color
Answer: Yes. I dyed my hair dark blonde and it took it out.
Question: My hair is currently a faded purple and i used artic fox dye semiperminant dye. Would this remove the purple
Answer: Probably not. This product won’t work on “direct dyes” or non oxidative hair color. Artic fox is a direct dye, so this is not a good product to use to remove the purple. Fashion colors like purple can be difficult to remove because even though they are “semi permanent”, they can permanently stain your hair. There are some color removers on the market that work on direct dyes. I think there is one by ion and also Malibu c that might work without causing major damage to your hair. There are others like Loreal effesol , Joico color eraser etc but beware that they are basically glorified lighteners (aka bleach). These can be damaging and should really be used by a professional. Some safe at home methods you can try are straight dawn dishwashing liquid applied to the hair, clarifying or dandruff shampoo applied directly to dry hair, crushed up vitamin C tablets added to shampoo. You can do an online search and find plenty of tutorials about these methods.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this remove highlights
Answer: You can't remove bleach from hair , bleaching is literally stripping color once your strip it it can't be put back, color remover is for anyone who has went darker or maybe used fashion colors and can't get it out
Question: The reviews says it smells strong, what does it smell like? I know color oops and colorfix smell like rotten eggs
Answer: It smells to me exactly like those old at home perms. That's the only smell I can really compare it too. If you've ever done bleach at home, you shouldn't be bothered too much. Bleach has a way harsher, more chemical smell. I still used it next to an open window though haha.
Question: Will this remove dark demi-permanent color and return my hair to its natural color
Answer: This product will remove all the color that you have (dark) in your hair And then you have to put the color that you want.
Question: Does this lift your natural color or just the dye and leave new growth unchanged
Answer: the dye

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fully remove permanent black hair dye
Answer: The vendor’s web site (linked through Amazon?) has a great sizing tool. It worked well for matching my ski width to their product.
Question: Will it remove permanent black box dye and magenta that us on top of the black
Answer: Most cross country skis are too narrow for our standard sizes (versus the custom ones available on our site), however since our size small is 89mm, it is possible to get a ruler and physically measure where an 89mm rack slot width would fit on your Dad's skis. If you know the tip/waist/tail widths of the ski then there is also a rack fit estimator on our site you can use as well. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!
Question: will it remove blonde hair dye because i want to go back to my natrual light brown
Answer: 120mm wide for the brake arms
Question: Will this remove black hair dye and is this good for thick-coursed hair
Answer: Specs 137 116 133. Use this info to find a similar ski and length from Say Armada 116 to determine and estimate the turn radius. See the answer I wrote for another question on these skis for more info.

Question: What are the listed ingredients in this product? Does it contain bleach
Answer: I used toggle bolts; installation was quick and easy.
Question: Does this only work when attempting to redye hair or will it work to simply return hair to natural color
Answer: Hey! Usually you want your skis to hang 10" down from the widest part of the tip of the skis so measure the width there and pick the closest size to that. Make sure the tip is wider and the waist is narrower than the slot width you choose. If you have the tip/waist/tail width I can give an exact size suggestion. The sizes determine how wide the slot is. Details on dimensions of the sizes are in the sizing chart in the images. Hope this helps!

User questions & answers

Question: Does any one know if this would take black out and what's the best way to achieve getting black out so i can go back to blonde
Answer: about 5.5 # ea. china
Question: Do I apply this on wet or dry hair
Answer: Zoom in on the picture of the ski in the picture and you will see the measurements but here is my summary. Specs 137 116 133. By the measurements its not symmetrical in terms of Tip/Tail width but it is symmetrical in terms of tip/tail rise and length like a snowboard would be except note! the tips and tails are extreme powder tips and tails. There are markers for mounting on the ski but read below and you will need to use judgement based on what you like in picking the best mounting position. Quality Ski by my evaluation. I bought 3 pairs!. 1/2" Camber under foot, Medium flex Twin Tip with 2 large and long tapered powder tips/tails. The powder tip and tail start to rise about 10" or 25 cm distance from each end and the camber section of the ski goes out to those points. A 168 cm ski will only have have about 118 cm on the snow in hardpack conditions. A 178 cm ski will have about 128 cm on the snow in hardpack conditions. Do the math to confirm I calculated this right. I got the 168cm because the tips and tails will still be engaged in the soft snow. - But it will ski very very short and I like that, most men will want 178 or longer. This is an odd ball ski and there is no reason to have such a big and long powder tail. This will be a specialized ski for you and should not be a primary ski. I bought 4 pairs! of the "ether" model also. I mounted the ether model and it too was well made. I would use epoxy on the binding mounting screws for either model. I stocked up on the skis because I hit a lot of rocks on the east cost hard trails but I do ski slow and easy and treat my gear with great respect otherwise. So I expect these will last. But if you are going to ski very hard on these you are always taking a risk with a no name ski with no proven history of durability. Amazon price varies greatly so check the 6 month price history. The low star rating it gets is only because only 2 of the 11 ratings are counted
Question: will this work for manic panic vampire red
Answer: It says sugar free because it is sugar free. The carbs come from something else in the mix. It has 4 carbs, but you subtract the fiber which is 1 and then subtract the erythritol which is 2 and you are left with 1 carb. Almost nothing you can eat or drink has just one net carb.
Question: How do you use the product? Does it need to be mixed with something, or do you just use it alone
Answer: Yes! Pyure Drink Mix is excellent for hot chocolate!
Question: Will this product remove direct dyes like greens, blue or purples (in my case
Answer: Does the picture showing the nutrition info show servings?

User questions & answers

Question: Why are ends dark and roots red
Answer: Yes its ok to use it to remove semi-permanent. If its an un-natural color (like blue, green, etc.) id use this. If its something not un-natural like black id use Color Opps. You will have to bleach or redye it later if you don't want that.
Question: I'm natural dirty blonde and I've dyed my hair for years. I'm currently rocking black hair, will this pull the black out
Answer: Yes. It can remove anything! It removed all of the black from my hair. It's a great product.
Question: I have natural dark hair and i am now a bleached blonde. I put a semi permanent direct dye over the blonde. Will this make me blonde again

Answer: Yes, and developer!
Question: I.if you use color zap with water how much lift do u get
Answer: You should *ABSOLUTELY NOT* unless you're willing to risk unpredictable results. There are minerals and other chemicals in tap water can react with this product and may give undesired results, e.g. green hair. If you use distilled water, as recommended, you take out the variables and will have more predictable results.
Question: Does this work on dyed hair that has been dyed more than once (3 different colors in the past 2 years
Answer: Yes, it's good for all ages. I have oily mature skin, and it gives me a "blurring" effect, without settling into wrinkles, but since I have oily skin, I do have to reapply every so often though.
Question: I'm trying to let my color grow out to the natural gray I do not to re-color it. Is this possible

FAQ's:

DO I HAVE TO PRE-LIGHTEN MY HAIR BEFORE COLORING?

Applying Manic Panic hair color to pre-lightened hair is the best way to assure that you will achieve the vibrant results that you see on our color swatches. Lightening with our Flash Lightning Kits to a pale blonde (level 9-10) will give the most intense results.

DO I NEED TO PRE-LIGHTEN MY HAIR EVERY TIME BEFORE I COLOR MY HAIR?

Yes, but ONLY the new growth! Be careful not to overlap on hair that has already been lightened, this can cause breakage and damage the hair.

CAN I USE MANIC PANIC FLASH LIGHTENING KIT TO BLEACH MY PERMANENT COLORED BLACK HAIR?

It is very dangerous to apply Manic Panic Flash lightening kit to hair colored with a permanent black color. Do not attempt to do this without the advice and direction of a professional stylist who can evaluate the condition of your hair. Lightening dyed black hair can be extremely damaging and result in major breakage!

If your hair is dyed black, some darker MANIC PANIC dyes will give a subtle highlight (like Vampire Red for example) and will not damage the hair. On NATURAL black hair, MANIC PANIC Flash lightning Bleach Kit in 40 volume strength is recommended.

DO I NEED TO USE THE FULL CONTENTS OF THE BLEACH KIT?

YES. Our bleach kits are prepared with the perfect ratio of bleach powder and developer to give you consistent results every time.

HOW IS BLEACH APPLIED?

The bleach mixture should be applied to dry, unwashed hair using a hair dye brush like the one provided in our bleach kits. When applying bleach, make sure to spread the mixture evenly and completely saturate all strands using the brush or gloved fingers. Not saturating the hair enough or uneven application can lead to spotty results.

HOW LONG DOES BLEACH STAY ON FOR?

The length of processing time depends on the color and condition of your hair, but we don’t recommend leaving bleach on for longer than 50 minutes. While processing, make sure to check your hair every 10 minutes after application to evaluate how much color has lifted. To do so, wipe away some of the bleach in the area you want to check. If your hair is not as light as you’d like, reapply the bleach and continue processing.

DO I SHAMPOO MY HAIR WHEN REMOVING THE BLEACH?

YES. Thoroughly shampoo your hair after you are done processing your hair. This may take multiple washings to ensure the bleach is completely removed. If you’re dyeing your hair with MANIC PANIC after bleaching, do not condition, and dry your hair completely before applying color.
