Question:	Do the lights require direct sunlight? I need to install one on the north side of the house which gets no direct sunlight in winter
Answer:	Direct sunlight is helpful as the unit uses Two 2200mAh 18650 batteries, but that also helps in places that don't have direct sunlight. As long as it gets a few hours of SOME sunlight it should be okay. It should be noted though that I've personally modified these lights and similar ones to be charged via a USB cable and 5v power source with a TP4056 Charge and Protection board so that on days/seasons there isn't a lot of sunlight I can manually charge the batteries instead of only relying on the solar panels.

Answer:	Yes, just undo the two phillips screws on the underside, slide off the cover and the battery is visible in a holder (not soldered in). You must get AAA Ni-Cad, not Li-Ion. Tip: slide out the + terminal, insert the battery, slide the + terminal back in. Be careful, the battery holder is not very strong.

Answer:	Set the switch to “on”. Depends on the time you install the light, if it’s dark already, then the lights will be on when you install them.

Answer:	I don't know. I ordered lights and that's all. I would not buy these lights again. The lights last less than any solar lights I have bought in the past.
