Answer:	Few ways, I'd say in a normal household of 4 ypu should be good if your drinking it for 6-9 months depending on your cities water. Also the coco pebbles that are brown at the bottom will begin to turn white as the chlorine and other products pass through. Short answer 6 months then just replace 45 for a replacement I think.

Answer:	I'm sure there is. As I recall, the fitting on the filter is a 1/4" push-to-connect tube fitting. You would need to identify the thread on the copper end and buy a fitting with a matching female thread on one end and a 1/4" push-to-connect tube on the other end. Then use a short length of 1/4" polyethylene tube between the two push-to-connects. Take the filter to home depot and ask for help in the plumbing department.
Question:	Can the fxwtc filter be used in place of the fxutc filter
Answer:	It doesn't really need any adaptor. You can cut the existing hose in half, the one from the water source to ice maker. The ends of this filter are made so that you kind of grip and twist to get a nice seal. The directions are good and it is easy. Just make sure you read them....and follow them. :)
Question:	Is this a 2 pack or are there just 1 in the pack at the given price
Answer:	I'm sorry I didn't attempt to do it myself as my fridge/freezer was too heavy for me to move it to get behind it where the filter is attached to the fridge. Someone did it for me. Best get an obliging plumber or builder. It seemed very simple and took only about 10-15 mins. You must turn off the tap first that is connected to the fridge. Then at the fridge end, simply cut off the cable with the old filter - don't try to undo the old filter; it is quite impossible. My fridge has come supplied with a very long cable - enough to have it cut off every six months to replace the filter. The new filter is attached to the fridge cable at an upright position. (You know which way is up from the print on the new filter.) You have to remove the blue clip around the new filter, then insert the fridge cable into it and push as far as the cable will go (about an inch) and then put the clip back to secure the cable. Have a large bowl nearby to catch surplus water dripping out of the old cable. There are instructions with the filter. Get a strong person to do it. Keep the new filter in the upright position behind the fridge with the tape advertised as "no more nails". Buy the red coloured one - not the blue which is not as strong. After connecting up the new filter, you must run the water through the fridge until the water is completely clear. May take several pints. The carbon in the filter will blacken the water and needs to be washed away before ready to drink. To move the fridge without damaging the kitchen floor, use a cardboard sheet under the feet of the fridge to push it out if the fridge is against a wall like mine is. Remember to turn the tap back on once the new filter is secured. Good luck!

Answer:	They are pretty easy to find. Google the filters recommended for the System. Amazon and other companies sell them. Do not get a filter that is not in the list recommended for the system (housing).

Answer:	My guess is that it was rated at up to 5 years based on the 20,000 gallon rating. The additional KDF filter media not present in most 6 month fridge filters (most are simple carbon granule filters) also has bacterial properties that allows it to be used safely longer, but if your incoming water has problems it might not be wise to use it for 5 years. Legal stuff and all that = no 5 year statement. I used one of these for 4 years and then cut it open. No signs of any problems. Everything looked clean (not that there couldn't be microscopic problems and my city water is already pretty good). While I liked the filter, I bought it for $30 back then. It would be ridiculous to pay $130 as shown now (which I assume is a temporary price hike).

Answer:	This filter is made to connect in line water source, its not an internal fridge filter. The water pipe going to your fridge in series with this filter to fridge.
Question:	How do you remove the water line. I removed the clip but the water line will not pull out
Answer:	Just attached to the water line behind the fridge, laying on the ground.

Answer:	Peter, basically what you see is what you get. Basically a filter cartridge and a mounting unit has quick connection fittings for you water line.

Answer:	Need clarity. When you say "open the tap" Is your filter connected to an "angle stop" similar to the hot and cold stops underneath your sink? Or do you mean when you turn on your kitchen faucet it makes noise?

Answer:	No difference same filter I never could understand why that is either SO I just buy the kit also when I change the filter I could never get it to work right So I found that on the mounting,, bracket there is a small button that shuts off the water so you can change the filter without turning off the water WELL that most of the time will break off therefore when you put the new filter it does not turn on the water and that's why I buy the complete rig and toss the old old one at a lesser price yeah!!! and I don't know why it's cheaper but it works for me . I know this took a while but I hope it helps you.

Answer:	I'm not familiar with the nomenclature. These are very generic filters and can be found at Walmart, Lowe's, etc. Just check the diameter and length for a retrofit.

Answer:	Never trust a plastic refrigerator water line. Eventually it will break and likely ruin your floor or worse. Buy copper line (Amazon B07C39HW5C) or stainless steel braided line (Amazon B000BQWN2G). I speak from $4,000 personal experience.

Answer:	These filters need a special filter connector at each end that are to be connected to 1/4" tubing (copper or nylon). The filter connectors do not come with the 3-pack filters. You need to buy a filter that comes with the connectors. Once you install the connectors onto your 1/4" tubing, then you can purchase the 3-pack filter set. Each filter connectors has a small push-button release which allows you to disconnect the filter. However when installing a new replacement filter you need only to push them into the connectors. This style filter is an older design made for inline applications. The newer designs use a twist-on/twist-off method... so much easier, but the filters are more expensive. I use these filters for my humidifier water feed line. I go through 3 or 4 filters each year. These filters help reduce scale and mineral deposit build-up on my humidifier pads. I am thinking about replacing these type of filters with the newer twist-on/twist-off design.
