The scarf portion spreads weight out over a larger area which will be nice for your shoulders if you use that big lens walking around doing nature photography. The weakest point is the loop connections that goes to the camera. I have hauled 300 mm lenses on a camera before with no issues, but I have also seen some 500 mm lenses that are about 6 inches in diameter and those people haul monopods and tripods. I've never seen anyone carry those things with straps and I suspect any strap would have an issue with that. I have seen a lot of mid priced 300 mm Cannon lenses hauled with straps and I would be very surprised if this strap would have any problem with that since I have hauled similar. |
