Question:	Do i need to have the lock in my presence to setup the first time or can i do that remotely, chicago to san francisco
Answer:	Hello, The lock does not use a wifi signal (one of our favorite advertising points is that the lock functions even without internet). The lock has a data base of codes that work in various circumstances, when you pair your phone to the lock, the bluetooth key is used to encrypt the codes so that only your phone can generate working codes. When you need to generate a code you will use your phone to ask the app which codes work for the time you specify, the app will then provide you with a working code. It's a little hard to imagine but think of it like this: All the codes you will EVER generate have already been generated when you paired your lock to your phone. When you click the button to generate a new code, all you are really doing is asking your app, which code will work for what you need it to do. However, if you wanted to change the code from the one that is generated to a new one of your own custom length and digits, you will need to be within Bluetooth range of about 10 meters.
Question:	About how long do batteries last in this device
Answer:	Hello, as there seems to be confusion on this front I wanted to step in here. So the very first run of these was released a little over 6 months ago. The first batch has a known issue where the seals were not strong enough. Since then the Igloohome Smart Padlock has gone through 2 revisions with more to come. The water resistance issue has been solved in later versions. While of course you cannot submerge the product completely for an extended period, the unit is water resistant and will survive most weather conditions. If you have an older unit we are also able to provide a water proof silicon cover with proof of purchase. Answer:	The app is required to set up the fingerprints (up to 15 sets) of your padlock. After you set up the fingerprints, you can open the lock with your registered fingers without the app. You may use the app to open the lock too.

Answer:	The battery life is 9-12 months. You must use Alkaline batteries, we recommend Energizer or Duracell. Use of other type of batteries will not only reduce batter life but may decrease the lifetime of the lock. I have tested "Heavy Duty" batteries myself and found a consistent 1.5 month battery life. While Duracell can last up to a year. This is all dependent on usage obviously, a lock opened every day will last longer then one used once a week.

Answer:	Reset to factory settings： Deleting a fingerprint requires an administrator's fingerprint to authorize; After unlocking, press and hold module for 8 seconds until the red light is on, release your finger, and the red light flashes. Press the administrator fingerprint once again, and wher the green light turns on, all fingerprints will be deleted and returned to factory mode.

When you first receive your lock, it is set to "open" mode, which will allow any fingerprint to unlock it. In order to activate the lock for the first time, you need to program an administrator's fingerprint. To do so, press and hold the sensor for 3 seconds with your chosen finger or thumb until the blue light flashes. On seeing the blue light, remove your finger or thumb from the lock and then re-apply 5 times of upper half part of thumb. Each time you make contact, the lock will beep in acknowledgment. Once you've collected the fifth fingerprint, the lock will emit a longer beep. Your programming of the administrator's fingerprint is now complete.

For quick unlock,we suggest you same fingerprint regist 2-3 times,1:Thumb,we suggest you regist upper part of thumb 2-3times,and make sure all upper part of thumb be registed.Other fingers regist 2/3 upper part,make sure all 2/3 upper part be registed.And please use registed part of fingerprint to unlock.

Answer:	Not sure about this. The app communicates to the server, to be able to login. Once you get the list of locks, when you choose the lock it will send the "open" signal via NFC. Hope this helps.

Answer:	if it has NFC, and it should not have QI, then it will work. Mine works but my new phone has QI wireless charging and NFC, and the both get "confused" and the lock will not open, I'm affraid.

Answer:	It can support both,pls set the administrator fingerprint via mobile APP first and then set normal users via fingers directly. if you set by fingers not via APP first, the mobile APP will unavailable unless you set the fingerprint padlock to default setting.

Answer:	It works with a NFC device running android or ios. The NFC signal from the device has to be able to do write I assume. To open the lock you have to register as user of the app, so you keep control on who can open it and who is forbidden.

Registering the 2rd-20th Fingerprint

1.Long press the 1st administrator's fingerprint 5s to unlock(blue light flashes)

2.Start to enter the fingerprint. Same finger press 5 times.

3-1.If green light flashes,the registration is successful.

3-2.If red light flashes,the registration is failed.

4.After 5 success attempts,your fingerprint will be recorded.

Delete Fingerprint

1.Press your finger to unlock.

2.After unlocking,press and hold the sensor for 8 seconds until the red light stays on.

3.Then release your finger and the red light will flash.Press the administrator fingerprint once.

4.If the green light turns on, all fingerprints will be deleted,and the lock return to factory mode.

NOTE: Be sure to delete your fingerprint if you need to return it.

Tips

You have to enter 5 times when you register your fingerprint.Each time you enter fingerprint, the position should be adjusted, the range of the entered fingerprint will be larger, and the sensitivity will be improved. Please register as shown above.

(Which part of the finger used when registering, please use the same position of the same finger when unlocking)
