User questions & answers

Question: What is the measurement between bolts at the bottom
Answer: 11 1/2 inches on the long sides and 8 1/2 on the short sides
Question: How do you anchor this? Does it just sit on the ground or is a burried post needed
Answer: There are 4 holes in the base. Follow the instructions supplied from the manufacturer. You will need a concrete base in which you will need to drill and set anchor bolts, again instructions will guide you.
Question: We own one of these mailboxes and there are numerous holes in the base, presumably for screws or drainage. How do we seal them
Answer: Not sure why you want to seal them? If the mail for some reason got wait it needs to dry. Likewise if you got medication in the mail you don’t want it to bake in the hot box which needs to breath. Just my opinion, my mailbox is wonderful have zero issues and my holes remain open.

User questions & answers

Question: can regular automotive battery terminals work for this battery
Answer: Yes, I got battery terminals from autozone.
Question: How long would 100 watt Harbor Freight solar system take to charge this battery or two 100 Watts hook together
Answer: 12/6 hours is incredibly oversimplified and incorrect. The charge time will depend on the solar intensity and weather conditions including temperature of the panels, the efficiency of your charge controller and if it's PWM vs MPPT, and the charging efficiency of these batteries (which is NOT going to be 100%, but varies by battery construction and how depleted they are). So, no easy answer, but it will be noticeably longer than the 12 and 6 hour baloney people are posting.
Question: Can anyone tell me the battery's dimensions
Answer: Hello,The dimensions are: Length 12.17 inchesWidth 6.61 inchesHeight 8.30 inchesThank you for your interest in this product. Battery Supersite
Question: how many of these would i need for a 9000w solar kit using a consistent 2000w pull
Answer: Assuming you intend to use an Inverter to convert 12V DC current provided by the batteries into 115V AC current, a 2000 Watt load would equate to about 16.7 Amps at 115v; this is roughly equal to 166 DC amps. To even pull that much current, you would likely need 6 to 8 of these batteries, at the bare minimum. Each hour that you plan on putting a full 2000 watt load on the batteries will require 166 amps; to preserve the longevity of your batteries, you should really only use about half of their rated capacity every cycle; so around 50 AH; so to run a load that large for ONE hour, you would need three of these batteries. Multiply three by X, where X is the number of hours you need to run the load for; that is the base number of these batteries you will need. You should also consider the cabling you will require to hook these batteries up, which for a load that large must be either 1/0 or 3/0 AWG. For such a large load, you would probably do better to buy some large 250 - 300+ amp hour flooded lead acid batteries in a quantity that would be appropriate.

User questions & answers

Question: is this the large box and does it have the flag on the side
Answer: Its approximately 11" wide by 20" deep so it handles 11"x14" envelopes and packages nicely. Not sure if that answers the large box question. It does have a flag on the side. I didn't need it because I use the mailbox inside a brick mailbox structure so I left it unattached. Hope this helps.
Question: How does the mailbox attach to a post with a platform? I don't see any holes
Answer: You can buy the mounting bracket but it has recessed slots on the bottom for mounting it on a 6" dimensional board (1x6 or 2x6) and also a slot for 4" lumber (2x4 or 4x4). There are holes in the sides of the slots to drive screws into the board. Mounting on regular lumber takes literally 5 minutes.
Question: I see two different dimensions listed 21" L x 11-1/2" W x 9-1/2" H. and 18.4 x 11.4 x 20.7 inches which is correct
Answer: Well, I measure none of the above.I got 19 long, 10.5 wide, and 9 high at the top of the arch.It is a great box and takes most everything. The yellow "you have mail" flag is its best feature.
Question: can the yellow indicator go on either side?, or just the same side as the red mail flag
Answer: I have then yellow indicator on the left and the red flag on the right as the instructions show. I'm not sure about reversing them. I am very happy with the mailbox.
