| Answer: | I don’t believe Johnson Hardware has a #134 track. The soft open/close device is designed to fit 100 track and replaces the #1125 hanger/wheel. It must be installed while the frame is being installed during new construction...or, you will likely have to cut a hole through the drywall large enough to get a screw gun inside and release the track from the head of the frame. The device has to be slid into the end of the track and you can do that if the frame is already in place and the drywall is finished. The door width must be 28” or greater or the device will not fit. I do not work for Johnson Hardware but I sell Architectural hardware items and Johnson happens to be the pocket frame system my company prefers so we use them a lot. Over 100 of them in the last 6 months. |

| Answer: | Yes. I did just that. I installed on a 28" door with about an inch of space to spare in the track. However the instructions say the minimum door width should be 24". Just make sure your door brackets (on top of door) are spaced correctly from the edge of the door (It varies depending on door width). As an aside I tried to put one more door bracket in the middle of the door to hold a standard roller, however the roller would not fit in a two mechanism soft close system (both sides open and close system). It may work on a 30" door or if I played with the bracket spacing a little. I just thought that since I had the extra parts three rollers would be better than two to distribute the weight of the door (65 Lbs). |
