| Answer: | Although their width would be minimally acceptable to do so, they are thin and have edges that would need to be protected in order to make them functional in that regard. I would recommend 6" rounded hooks, bent to your needs and then plastic coated, covered with a thick enamel or vinyl paint or perhaps electrical tape, in a pinch. Hooks specifically designed (or even close enough to be "good enough") for firearms are very hard to find. It's often easier to design your own or find ones that are designed specifically to hold firearms. I've found that a pair of rounded hooks is pretty handy to slip the narrow part of a stock into and allows the rifle to hang straight down, taking up less space and making it easier to access. It also helps avoid having slings getting in the way, as they tend to hang straight down. However, the biggest issue I've found is utilizing hooks/hangers for firearms is the firearms tend to not stay up securely and can shift fairly easily without a fair amount of planning (like the above solution). All told, I would consider getting some actual gun racks for your purpose. A five rifle gun rack (wall mounted) can be had for around $40 here in Amazon. That's cheaper than getting the slotted peg board and hooks. |

In my woodworking shop, I have hammers, saws, levels, aluminum clamping guides, and blow torches hanging from my Wall Control panels. Yes, the larger hooks will support the weight of typical long-handled garden tools. |

| Answer: | These will hold almost anything I can imagine weight wise as will the hooks. Your limiting factor will be the strength of your mount. Mounted in sheet rock it will hold much less weight than if mounted to a stud. If at all possible try to have it mounted on two studs although one should be ok. |
