Answer:	The two little metal pieces sticking above the basket go behind the grid and then towards the bottom of the basket there are to loops that snap onto one of the grid bars. I have a set of 12 and so easy to use.

Answer:	the bracket wire connecting points are part of the basket unless you want to try using wire clippers to remove them.

Answer:	I have used an old piece of commercial grid wall as a base for copper soldering activities. I would NOT recommend the use of a basket or piece of grid wall for direct contact with a hot iron. You COULD use a basket with a silicone iron rest &/or other soldering heat shield around the inside of the basket with the silicone iron rest on top. That, I should think, could protect, not only the basket, but, I’d imagine, MORE importantly... your iron!
