User questions & answers
Question: | Is this an in line thermostat to be connected in the 220v circuit? If so how many watts can it handle |
Answer: | The thermostat is an in line thermostat, rated at 3600 watts @240 volts. Max amps is 15. I installed 6 of them in my rooms(zonal electric baseboard heat). My electric bills went down by about 15% last spring. |
Question: | Will this work with a 110v kick toe heater |
Answer: | I am unsure what a kick toe heater is, but it is a line voltage thermostat and operates by interrupting the current to the heater. It will work with 110v or 220v line voltage. |
Question: | Is this a double pole or a single pole thermostat |
Answer: | This is a double pole t-stat for 208/230 volt baseboard very accurate an easy to use |
Question: | Does this have an off switch to turn of the heater |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this gonna melt on me? I've been reading the reviews and I'm getting really concerned. I bought and installed 2 of these on a wall heater w/ a fan |
Answer: | Yes. I am using one on a 12 volt system and 5 on 500 milivolt systems. It should also work on a 24 volt system. It should be noted that this thermostat receives power to run the display and electronics from 2 AAA batteries that last a long time. These are required on a 500 milivolt system. The batteries can be omitted on a 12 or 24 volt system if (and only if) you have a 3 wire connection to the thermostat. The 3rd wire is the common terminal (which is not required for a mechanical thermostat with no clock, light, or electronics). You may use the batteries with a 3 wire system that doesn't need them. I believe this will cause it to hold its setting if the power goes out and comes back on. I believe (but am not sure) that the setting will be lost on a 3 wire system without batteries if the power goes out. On a 500 milivolt system the batteries are required. |
Question: | What is the lowest temperature setting? Some thermostats won't go below 55 degrees, I would like a low of no more than 45 degrees |
Answer: | low of 40,high of 90 |
Question: | I have only two thick wires, white and red. Do you know which one s/b connected on where |
Answer: | I am using this thermostat on a 2 wire setup. It works fine. Boba |
Question: | What is the maximum watts at 120v installation |
Answer: | There is no programming of this thermostat. It is for heat only. |

Question: | Does this have a hysteresis, or "swing" temp control |
Answer: | I bought a different thermostat and am getting this one now, both requiring a C wire in homes without the wire to power the thermostats (built in 1997 & 2001...both gas furnaces). I bought the following adapter: 8 FT OMNIHIL AC/DC Power Adapter 24V 1A (1000mA) 5.5x2.5mm / 5.5x2.1mm Regulated/UL Listed/FCC Certified (Compatible with Many Models) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NUI2WGY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Ey3OCb2W2AFJX I cut off the connector end and wired it up to R & C & plugged it in. User questions & answers
Question: | Can I manually override the preprogrammed setting |
Answer: | Yes, as it removes stains on the toilet without scratching the porcelain surface. |
Question: | I currently have a 120v thermostat that turns a hot water pump on and off. I want to replace it with a programmable one. will this work |
Answer: | I'm not sure why you would use it on a kitchen sink when there are a lot of non abrasive products to clean the sink. These are sold to clean toilets, which get very hard water in them, for some strange reason. Since water sits in a toilet that does give it time to form that difficult ring to remove at times. If you really felt the need to use something this abrasive, I would try a very small area at the bottom front (closest to you) and see what the outcome is. I would first put the stopper in the sink and pour in two gallons of vinegar then fill up above where you are having problems with whatever stains with water. Leave it over night and see if this solution has solved your problem. Vinegar is very inexpensive and much easier to replace than a sink. It is amazing how it will dissolve hard water, then you can just pull the plug and get the benefits of vinegar in your water lines also. If that doesn't work then go on with the "hard stuff" Good luck! |
Question: | what is the difference between the Th104/U and the TH106/U |
Answer: | I do not believe this will remove the scratches as you may have damaged the porcelain finish. This product did not scratch my toilet when I used it. |
Question: | Does this unit require batteries or is it hard wired |
Answer: | Hi There! No this is to be used on non granite surfaces. If you have any further questions we'd be happy to help. Please email us at [email protected]. Thanks! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this Thermostat have a off switch? What is the difference between a single pole and a double pole |
Answer: | I was shocked to see on my Rowenta iron that it was made in China, not in Germany like all the advertisements said. I’m pretty disgusted. My first Rowenta iron was made in Germany. When did they change? |
Question: | Can this be used for cooling? or just heating |
Answer: | I looked up maytag on wikipedia and google, they have plants in the US and in Mexico but also own and are connected to many other brands which are made outside the US and Americas. Supposedly the laundry related supplies are made in the US and Mexico. Well, tracking down this exact product seems elusive but do believe that most of the irons that come up on an Amazon search for USA ARE NOT MADE HERE AT ALL-THEY NEED TO FIX THAT ITS FRUEDULENT |
Question: | How accurate is this thermostat |
Answer: | Hi Erin,So sorry for the delayed response. No where in the instruction manual does it mention that the Maytag iron beeps or makes any sounds. When it goes into auto shut-off mode a small red indicator light flashes until iron is either turned off or put in use again. I hope this answers your question! -Kay |
Question: | does this thermostat need to be calibrating because it is about 5 degrees off |
Answer: | WARNING this iron is not usable. It literally shuts off while we iron the clothes and there is not setting to turn off the auto shut off. Very Dissapointed! |

User questions & answers
Question: | How loud are the relays/"clicks" with this thermostat? The one currently outside our bedroom clicks very loudly and wakes me up at night |
Answer: | Yes, That is how I run mine. |
Question: | What is the lowest temperature setting. I just need a setting to keep pipe from freezing, 35 or 40 degrees maybe |
Answer: | You can configure the thermostat for "heat only" in the ISU menu by setting the number of cooling stages to 0, but if you're using a radiant floor heat system, I don't think this thermostat is the best choice, as it assumes forced air heat which uses entirely different heating response algorithms than radiant floor heat. Forced air is much hotter than water and is introduced into a room at a few select locations rather than throughout the room. Air also cools off much faster than water. You can get reasonable temperature consistency with a forced air system by turning on the heat when the temperature drops a bit below the set point, then turning off the heat when the temperature reaches the set point. In a radiant floor system, this would always lead to overshooting the set point, as the water in the floor remains hot even after you turn off the actuators and will continue to radiate into the room. It would also let the room get too cool, as well, as it takes longer for the hot water to heat the room as the water isn't as hot and it takes time to circulate. There are quite a few thermostats out there which offer radiant floor, slab and baseboard heating algorithms that will do a better job, taking into account the different thermal mass and different heating/cooling rates of air and water. The best ones are adaptive and will actually measure how long it takes the radiant floor to heat the room up, how much it overshoots the set temperature by and how long it takes the room to cool off due to thermal mass. They then adjust when the actuators turn on and off based on this "real-world" information, to insure the room temperature stays where you want it. |
Question: | Will it work on 12v RV replacements |
Answer: | Yes, it's a low-voltage (24 VAC) thermostat, compatible with the vast majority of forced air HVAC systems. |
Question: | Does the display light up |
Answer: | Yes, but "System Changeover" in the ISU menu must be changed from the default value of 0 ("Manual") to 1 ("Automatic"), then "Auto" can be selected as one of the operating modes using the "Mode" button. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How accurate is it? I would be using it for a convection electric heater |
Answer: | Yes, the temporary bypass enables temperature override without changing programming. |
Question: | What is the size? 9 X 7 X 4 appears to be very large |
Answer: | Probably not. This is for a resistive load and the pump motor is an inductive load. I would check with Honeywell to be sure. |
Question: | How is this supposed to mount? It's described as if it is a replacement for a thermostat. That's not my situation |
Answer: | 2 main differences that I see:#1 the wattage is different. for the th106, you have 2000/4000 Watts for (120/240 volts) and the th104 only has 1750/3500 watts. it's not a big deal unless you have requirements on how many or how big of heaters you are controlling. For me, I have 1 medium and 2 small baseboards which totals to 2000 watts on 120 volts.#2 the programming is different. on the th106 you can specify temps for each day of the week-differently, whereas the 104's programming allows for weekend/weekday modes. |
Question: | Is this a double pole thermostat |
Answer: | This unit is wired directly to your 220v 2-wire circuit for the thermostat. This is a line voltage thermostat. |
