Answer:	I personally am not too concerned with RDA's on vitamins and minerals that are water-soluble (thiamine), as our body will just take what it needs and any excess will pass in the urine. We must also factor in that each person's nutritional needs are individual and unique according to their diets, emotions, lifestyle, etc.. That being said, some vitamins are synthetic based and some are others are derived from whole foods. I eat as much of an organic whole food diet as I can, which to me is more important than supplements. Even so, we can still be lacking in vitamins and minerals due to genetics, inadequately absorbing issues, stress and the quality of the foods we eat, including organic foods. Therefore, I choose to take whole food based supplements whenever possible to help supplement my diet. The body recognizes whole food based supplements as food. It's just a personal preference for me.

It never precludes products grown in a lab. You can grow vertical gardens of salad with lights and still have it be organic if it satisfies other areas. GMOs are also expressly forbidden, even if some manipulation might replicate processes in nature. Everything from a lab is also "from the Earth". In chemistry, organic means carbon based. But its still pretty great that we also have this extra "Organic" designation to help us when our FDA didnt give 2 squats about spraying our crops with highly toxic pesticides (not to end world hunger but to increase yield efficiency...lol), fowling the irrigation with livestock antibiotic runoff, etc. If you are of the mind that "Organic" means a bunny pulled it out of the ground and hopped it over to you supported on its unnicked nose... youre probably looking for "whole food" designations.
