Question:	Can these vent covers be painted? I need "black" ones to cover my fireplace vents
Answer:	The cover seems paintable, but I guess if you have the right paint it can cover anything. They are very thick. We cut them and used them on out ceiling vents. They actually hold up very well.

Answer:	They will stick to your return vents as long as they are metal. However, I am not sure if it is the best practice to cover your return vents as you may starve your HVAC system for air. You may want to do some research before doing this. Thanks for considering Kelbert.

Answer:	These are the best vent covers I have ever purchased. They are heavy duty and very magnetic. Most vent covers will get a bubble in the middle and air will escape, not these. You ask about exterior vent covers...do you mean outside? I am not sure about that as I use mine inside but these are very very magnetic. They will probably be ok.
Question:	Will the vents still heat rooms if you put filter on them

Answer:	You can cut them but I didn't need to. My vent was larger than the cover. It worked well for me because I wanted a little air to come into the room just not a lot. What I did for my phone was find out online where the charge receiver was on the phone's back, and then positioned two metal plates horizontally right below it. In my case, it was towards the top, so plenty of room for both. If they don't hold well enough for you, you can buy thicker plates on Amazon.

Answer:	It is a bit wider than most cabinet doors, and wobbled a bit when pulled on, but I went to the local W--mart and, for 97 cents, picked up a foam mask kit in the craft department that had thin black and white foam pieces with peel-off adhesive. (The foam that's already on the bar to protect the door is black, but if you have white doors, white might be useful to cover it.) I cut a few small rectangular pieces to fit, stuck them on the existing foam, and voilà - it now fits snugly.
Question:	Can i put extra magnets on them to keep on wall vents
Answer:	The package cardboard says it will go over a 3/4" door. if you remove the rubber pads you might make it over a 7/8' door. Yes, I measured this. No, it will never fit over a 1" door.

Answer:	Very strong, even ceiling installation for a strong blowing vent poses no problem, also because the cover itself is magnetic.
Question:	Can these be cut to allow some air to flow out
Answer:	These covers cut very easily with a pair of scissors, a knife, or an x-acto knife.
Question:	Will these work if the vents are open? My vents can't be closed
Answer:	They sure will! The additional magets are VERY strong. Just make sure your vents are NOT aluminum, which is NOT magnetic. You can check by putting some refrigerator magnets up to your vents.
Question:	If the magnets won't hold it on the vent, can it be taped to the wall over the vent, or would that be a fire hazard
Answer:	You could do that but the magnets are pretty strong.
