Question:	How often do these filters need to be cleaned? And what is the accepted method for cleaning them
Answer:	Cleaning depends on your environment. I clean mine roughly every 6 weeks or so, because in the Summer we have dust blown around our house. In the Winter I will clean it about every 2 months.Cleaning is easy and straightforward. You just remove the filter and spray it with water (opposite the direction of air flow). Once you've run water over it, simply let the water drain out, pat it down to get residual water off of it and re-install.
Question:	Is it 4 inches thick, both frame and filter material
Answer:	This filter consists of 2 inches of filter media in a 3-5/8 inch frame. Why not have 3-5/8 inches of filter media? One might think that the thicker the media, the better the filter. However, this filter uses electrostatic media to trap particles. The media must be compacted to a specific density for the electrostatic fibers to build static electricity and attract dust. They are not like regular paper media filters. If the media was any thicker...it would create too much air resistance.
Question:	My AC filter slot is exactly 20x25x4 while this filter size is 19-1/2 x 24-1/2 x-3 5/8. Wont it be kind of loose and not fit properly
Answer:	Thank you for your question. Our filters are undercut to allow for easy installation and removal. These filters are very rigid so slightly too small is better than slightly too big. There is a metal flange around the filter housing that allows for an undercut filter while still providing a good seal. That said..you are in the best position to measure and choose what size we make your filter. We can make any custom size in 1/8th increments for no additional cost.

Answer:	I ordered them and sent them back due to damage. My advice is measure your handler size. Mine says 20x25x5 but the width is actually 4 3/8. I go to Home Depot to get mine. I have a Carrier system. I didn't realize there are so many widths. 4 3/8, 4 5/8, and 4 7/8 and some are 4 3/4. I hope this helps you.

Answer:	The exact size of this filter is 19.5 x 24.5 x 3.75. If you have an old Honeywell filter you could measure it so see how the size compares. (I bought this to replace a Filtrete filter, and was not impressed. It is slightly smaller than its given dimensions, and therefore loose in the slot. Also, there are much fewer pleats than any other filter I have bought, so it and can't hold as much dust.)

Nordic Pure MERV 13 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filters provide exceptional filtration for both home and commercial environments. Each time air passes through a Nordic Pure pleated furnace air filter, lint, dust, pollen, bacteria, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, smoke particles, virus carriers, coughs and sneezes, smog, allergens and other contaminants are removed. MERV 13 furnace filters are comparable to HVAC filters with the rating of MPR 2200-2400 or FPR 10. While different companies use different scales to measure the air filter’s efficiency, Nordic Pure chose to follow the industry standard, MERV, as developed by ASHRAE (the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioner Engineers). No matter the name of the rating, the efficiency of all air filters is rated according to the same criteria as set forth by ASHRAE.  Nordic Pure furnace air conditioner filters are manufactured using a heavy duty, moisture resistant beverage board frame. As with all Nordic Pure furnace air conditioner filters, the material is electrostatically charged to attract unwanted particles. The media used will not promote the growth of bacteria or mold on the air filter and is better at trapping airborne particles than fiberglass filters. Our attention to the smallest of details results in a healthier living space. For fresh, clean air in your home and office, it is important to regularly change your AC filter, especially during home improvements. We recommend changing your HVAC furnace filter every 1-3 months, depending on your unique home or office environment. People with pets or those who suffer from allergies should change their A/C air filters more often. Replacing your air filter regularly not only improves indoor air quality, it helps your HVAC unit perform more efficiently.  Important Note: Almost all air condition filters have a different Actual Size (the exact dimensions) than Nominal Size (the name) printed on the air conditioning filter. It is best to measure the exact size of your A/C filter and compare it to our Actual Size to be sure your HVAC replacement filter fits!

Nordic Pure's air filters are pleated and electrostatic ally charged and have a high efficiency rating. The electrostatic charge of the air filters works as a magnet and draw airborne particles to them. This helps protect your family from pollen, fine dust, tobacco and cooking smoke, airborne plant spores, bacteria and some viruses. Our non-woven synthetic filter media will not support the growth of mold or bacteria, keeping your home healthier. Air filters are ranked in a minimum efficiency rating value (MERV) system. The higher the MERV rating, the better the air filter can filter out all airborne particulates. Remember not all HVAC systems can handle the higher MERV ratings. Filters that have received a rating of MERV 7-12 are great for all HVAC systems. However, MERV ratings of 13-16 are able to remove and capture smaller particle sizes even before the air filter starts to become dirty and are recommended for newer units. We manufacture most any size disposable home air filter in 1/2-Inch 1-Inch, 2-Inch, 4-Inch, 5-Inch and 6-Inch thickness. The printed size on the side of your air filters may be the nominal size so it is best to physically measure your filters with a ruler or tape to get the EXACT measurements of your home air filters within 1/8 of an inch on the length and width. Consult your HVAC system's operating manual for information. Nordic Pure recommends that you replace your filters every 1 to 6 months. Question:	I see a couple reviewers mention that there aren't any arrows on the filters showing the direction of air flow. Does it matter with these filters
Answer:	It does matter which way the filter is installed. All of our filters have arrows indicating the direction of air flow. The wire mesh side is the side that the air flows and exits from to help support the media.

Question:	Why are filters with carbon cheaper than without
Answer:	Not sure where you found activated carbon filters in residential sizes that were 'cheaper'?? I use the MERV13 (without carbon) and can get 4 - 20x25x2 for $56. With carbon is higher. In any case, carbon filters will have the very same pleated surfaces, and will trap just as much dust and hair as non-carbon, and BOTH types will typically last 60-90 days. The 'activated carbon' ones are better at odor trapping, but even that doesn't last till the end of the filter (Carbon is porous and fills up rapidly as stuff flows over it)
Question:	What's the difference between Merv
Answer:	Merv 7 filters 50-69% and Merv 8 filters 70-85% of 3.0-10.0 Microns.

Answer:	Really depends on your furnace and your home. This is the cheapest maintenance there is. I change them every three months.
