Answer:	I would contact Elite Sports directly with this question since this item is sized for an adult. I wear a size 7 1/8 hat and I was able to get the headgear to fit well with some adjusting. My girlfriend has the same headgear and we had to take a lot of the slack out of it to get it to fit securely. For a child's head it might be possible to adjust it to the maximum extent but that could cause it to fit poorly and not be secure. Based on the size of the headgear I don't think it would work well for your typical 8 year old.

Answer:	I got these instructions for replacing the battery on Google. 1. Take off the padding behind the battery. 2. Unscrew and remove the rear light. (these are very small Phillips screws) 3. Unscrew the cover. 4. Remove the circuit. 5. Push the battery out with a non-sharp object. 6. Replace the battery (CR 2032)
