Question: | I'm just starting out is this a good Choice |
Answer: | Canada |
Question: | does it come stringed |
Answer: | We would recommend putting Firewire (red) in the mains and Ghost Wire (white) in the crosses. |
Question: | I have to select a size. What is this measurement |
Answer: | The gut strings are the natural gut color. The other strings are gray/silver. |
Question: | does the racquet have a head cover |
Answer: | The gut is 16 gauge, the Luxilon is 16L. Is it mislabeled as 17? As far as I know this is the only combination Wilson offers in Champions Choice. I used this string quite a bit when I found a great deal on multiple sets. I used the gut in the mains and the poly in the crosses at 52lbs in a 95 sq racquet. Great power when serving and a nice feel on ground strokes. Volleys were great with a nice punch. Don't know what Roger is using, Ron Yu is not returning my calls...lol! |

Question: | Does this racket have a matte finish |
Answer: | Hi Tyler. The size is about your grip size. Some people find the racquet handle spins in their hands because they cant grip it tight enough. That's because the handle is too narrow. Too large a handle also affects your ability to grip the racquet. I have large hands so I use 4 1/2 size grip. |
Question: | Does this come strung |
Answer: | This racquet does not come with a cover |

Wilson Blade Team Tennis Racket
The Blade Team flashes a clean design that echoes the minimal, uncontaminated DNA of the current Blade performance franchise. Equipped with a subtle, detailed pattern on the inner rim above the 3 & 9, this racket features a thinner beam construction that aids control and precision for attacking styles. Racket comes pre-strung with Wilson Sensation 16L/1.25, an arm-friendly string built for comfort.
Head Size
A racket’s head size refers to the total surface area of the string bed and is measured in square inches or centimeters. The larger the head size, the more power and forgiveness the racket gives the player. Smaller head sizes afford players more precision and control with every shot.
Generally speaking, professional players and advanced club players will stick to standard rackets (< 98 sq inches) because they can provide their own power and hit the sweet spot with consistency. Beginner players often start with oversized rackets (106+ sq inches) for extra forgiveness on off-center hits, while intermediate players frequently use midplus rackets (99-105 sq inches) that offer a nice blend of power and control.
Weight
Weight greatly affects the performance characteristics of a tennis racket. A heavier racket brings more power and stability through the swing. Heavier rackets also absorb more shock than lighter rackets, which can give players better feel for the ball. This is ideal for players with long, fast strokes that prefer hitting flatter balls with pace and depth.
Conversely, lighter rackets enhance maneuverability and provide easier access to spin. This is optimal for handling volleys around the net, spinning lobs into play, and generating better angles that dip inside the lines. In addition to racket performance, the weight of a racket significantly affects arm comfort. Playing with a racket that is too heavy can lead to poor form, arm discomfort and possible injuries down the line. When in doubt: you can always add weight to a racket, but rarely can you reduce it.
Balance
Measured in points, a racket’s balance indicates the distribution of weight within a racket. This can be categorized in three ways: head light, even balance, or head heavy. Head-light (HL) rackets have more mass in the handle of the racket, head-heavy (HH) rackets have more mass in the hoop of the racket, and evenly balanced (EB) rackets have even mass distribution throughout.
While head-light rackets are generally heavier, they also give users added maneuverability and more control over the head of the racket. Head-heavy rackets give lightweight rackets more power and stability, as the added weight in the head helps prevent the frame from moving or twisting during the swing. Lastly, even balance rackets tend to strike a happy medium between the maneuverability of head-light and stability of head-heavy frames.

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these rackets come with prestrung |
Answer: | I would think so, if it is the ribbed grip, which makes an excellent contour for the hand. |
Question: | Is this the new version or old one |
Answer: | Depends on the diameter of the kettle bell handle but in theory yes. However, it might be too "grippy" and it has an internal foam strip that makes pronounced ridges so that's a preference. |
Question: | Anyone know string tension that it comes with |
Answer: | It adheres the same way a typical over-grip would, with a bit of tack or stick at one end, then wrapped tightly overlapping, and secured by a band at the top. If done right, it stays in place fine. If you don't wrap it tight enough, it can slip apart a little. |
Question: | What is the difference between the 100ls and the 100 uls racquet |
Answer: | It's pretty thick. It's definitely thicker than the average Wilson grip but I like it because it's very grippy, and the grooves are nice for the fingers. It will widen your grip a bit though.... |
