12 best tennis ball hoppers
A tennis ball hopper is an essential piece of equipment used in the sport of tennis. It's designed to make it easier for players and coaches to collect, store, and distribute tennis balls during practice sessions or matches. Here's what you need to know about tennis ball hoppers:
Purpose: Tennis ball hoppers are used to gather tennis balls efficiently from the court. This eliminates the need for players or coaches to bend down continuously to pick up balls, which can be tiring and time-consuming.
Design: They typically have a basket-like design with a handle and a hopper mechanism at the bottom. The basket is usually made of lightweight materials like plastic or metal mesh, ensuring that it's easy to carry and maneuver on the court.
Capacity: Tennis ball hoppers come in various sizes with different ball-holding capacities. Common sizes can hold 50 to 100 tennis balls, although larger hoppers are also available for coaches and training purposes.
Collection: To collect tennis balls, you simply place the hopper's open end over the balls scattered on the court. The balls are then picked up and stored inside the basket.
Storage: Tennis ball hoppers also serve as convenient storage containers. Once the balls are collected, they can be kept in the hopper until they are needed for practice or play.
Distribution: When you want to distribute the balls for serving or practice drills, you can use the hopper's hopper mechanism. This typically involves tilting the hopper forward, which releases the balls one by one onto the court.
Portability: Most tennis ball hoppers are designed for easy transport. They often have handles or wheels, allowing users to move them around the court effortlessly.
Durability: These hoppers are built to withstand the rigors of the tennis court and are usually made from materials that resist damage from impact and exposure to the elements.
Variations: There are different types of tennis ball hoppers, including stand-up hoppers, wheeled hoppers, and collapsible hoppers. Each type offers specific advantages depending on the user's needs and preferences.
In summary, tennis ball hoppers are indispensable tools for tennis players, coaches, and instructors. They simplify the process of collecting, storing, and distributing tennis balls during practice and play, making tennis sessions more efficient and enjoyable.

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the dimensions? I found 2 different answers: 27.1 x 13.8 x 2.2 inches and 14" long, 9" wide and 12" tall |
Answer: | I've owned the hi-rise for over a year now and the ball hopper has worked pretty well. The hi-rise model function's both as a ball pick-up carrier and a ball stand when the handles are folded down. From what I can tell the hoppette may hold more ball than the hi-rise, but does not have the ball stand design so it would only function as a ball pick-up and ball storage apparatus. I play tennis about once a week and the hi-rise works well for one or two players. I would recommend this product. |
Question: | Hello, i got it just now. But there are no wheels in a box. Can you send me |
Answer: | As far as I know it should work. I don't believe that there is a size difference between kids tennis balls and regular tennis balls. My son loves the ball hopper and he says it works great. |
Question: | What are the dimensions? I found 2 different answers: 27.1 x 13.8 x 2.2 inches and 14" long, 9" wide and 12" tall |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this work to pick up pitching machine baseballs as they are not solid and have some "give" to them |
Answer: | It definitely needs to be picked up. It's a simple ball hopper and has no wheels. You wouldn't want to drag it as it would do damage to the tennis court. After 10-14 balls are picked up, the weight of the hopper and balls is enough to overcome the resistance of the other balls being picked up by the hopper. Just place over the other balls being picked up and you don't even need to apply any pressure pushing down. Make sense? I bought mine a few years ago and bring to the court whenever I go. The manufacturing seemed good at the time. |
Question: | Will this hold the slightly larger wilson starter tennis balls (red/yellow tennis ball for beginners |
Answer: | With the basket in hand, punch down on the tennis ball. This action will slightly deflate the ball and it will pass through the wires. |
Question: | Does this basket feel sturdy and strong |
Answer: | No, it is a ball hopper not a cart. Sounds confusing with what the description is but this product is made to pick up balls. |
Question: | Is this used only for holding and transporting balls or can this help in collecting balls too |
Answer: | The handle and cage come separated. Each side has 2 bolts and 2 nuts used to fasten the handle to the cage. Very easy assembly. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with balls |
Answer: | 52 what ? Kg , Lbs , STI ?? and 70 what ? |
Question: | Does this bag have a shoulder strap |
Answer: | yeah, I use this machine fixed over 50 times. The clamps are for the tennis, however, those are also work on badminton. I suggest you do not use this 2 points machine with high tension(25+), because I broke 3 rackets with 25. If you don't care the money, I suggest you buy a 6 points machine which is much safer for the high tension. |
Question: | Does the latest edition come with the plastic bottom insert? It reads gamma ballhopper and has button snaps |
Answer: | I believe the PROGRESSION 200 base is made of steel while the X2 is all aluminium alloy. I would suggest getting the X2 as there woild be no rust issues and its lighter. |
Question: | What is the shipping weight and dimensions of the package |
Answer: | I believe it comes with 7? The quality varies. Some sets are very cheap synthetic gut (good for practice!) and some are really good, like a hybrid set with both natural gut and poly). It gave me a chance to try different strings to determine what I liked most and could afford. Most of the sets you get are priced at $6 but some of the sets they give you are as high as $12 (like the gut/poly). For the cost of restringing by a pro at $20 * 7 strings, this thing pays for itself. I'm a string breaker, I have restrung my racket for an entire year, saving so much money. |

Question: | does this pickup/carry the kids orange/yellow ball and the adult USTA League Tennis ball |
