9 best hockey stick for men

Hockey sticks for men are a critical piece of equipment in the sport of ice hockey, allowing players to shoot, pass, and control the puck. These sticks are specially designed to meet the needs and preferences of male hockey players. Here's what you should know about hockey sticks for men:

  1. Construction: Hockey sticks for men are typically constructed from composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and kevlar. These materials provide a combination of strength, flexibility, and lightweight characteristics.

  2. Blade Design: The blade of a hockey stick is an essential component. It's where players make contact with the puck. Blades come in various curves and patterns to suit different playing styles. Players can choose a blade curve that helps with shooting accuracy, stickhandling, or puck control.

  3. Flexibility: Hockey sticks have varying levels of flexibility, often indicated by a number. A lower number signifies a stiffer stick, while a higher number indicates a more flexible stick. The choice of flex depends on a player's strength and shooting style. Some players prefer a lower flex for power shots, while others opt for a higher flex for quick releases.

  4. Length: Hockey sticks come in various lengths, and players should choose a stick that matches their height and playing style. The stick should generally reach up to a player's nose or chin when standing in skates. Taller players may prefer longer sticks for extended reach, while shorter sticks provide better control.

  5. Grip: The grip of a hockey stick is typically covered with tape to provide better control and feel for the puck. Players may customize the tape job to their liking, including the thickness of the grip and the pattern of the tape.

  6. Curve: The curve of a hockey stick blade affects puck handling and shooting. Some players prefer a deep curve for enhanced stickhandling, while others opt for a flatter curve for shooting accuracy.

  7. Flex Profile: Manufacturers design sticks with different flex profiles to suit various playing styles. Some sticks have a low-kick point, which is ideal for quick-release shots, while others have a mid-kick or high-kick point for power shots.

  8. Weight: Modern hockey sticks are designed to be lightweight, allowing for quick stickhandling and shots. Manufacturers often strive to reduce weight while maintaining durability.

  9. Customization: Many players opt for custom sticks, where they can specify blade patterns, curves, flex, and even personalized graphics.

  10. Regulations: Hockey leagues have specific regulations regarding stick dimensions, curvature, and materials. Players must ensure their sticks comply with these rules to avoid penalties.

In summary, hockey sticks for men are essential tools for ice hockey players, designed with various features to accommodate different playing styles, preferences, and positions. Players should carefully select a stick that suits their needs and helps them excel on the ice, whether they prioritize shooting accuracy, stickhandling, or power.

User questions & answers

Question: So if i hold it with my left hand on top and right hand in middle doesn’t that make me a right hand or left hand orientation
Answer: no, it pretty much only fits exactly on the diamond mask. We have a mizuno as well, had to use zip ties to use it on the mizuno
Question: How do you determine what size stick
Answer: These are designed for the Diamond irridium, on easton masks you can zip strap them in place but its not a real good fit. I bought these also for an easton mask, they dont line up exactly so you would have to improvise should you buy it.
Question: My stick broke in the first hour of usage. Who do I email about this or shall I just return it
Answer: Yes it will fit all of the face masks except for the hockey style.
Question: when it says hand orientation does that mean the hand at the top of the stick
Answer: Yes it does. I had it on my All Star mask. The only thing I would say is that it does get scratched. To prevent scratching, take some tape and put it over the metal where the shield will be sitting but do not make it bulky. It works well and highly recommend it!

Product features

Pure Performance, Puregrip Technology

The Surgeon Rx3.1 is designed to maximize puck-handling ability, maintaining affordability without compromising performance.

Ultra-High Balance Point

For every inch that the balance point moves up the shaft, the stick feels 10 grams lighter in your hand. This is why we developed the Rx3.1 to have one of the highest balance points in the game. We wanted to find the perfect mix of performance and feel.

Precision Flex

The Surgeon Rx3.1 features our Precision Flex with dual kick points for quick release and extended load capacity. Compare this to our Stallion HPR2, which features our Power Flex profile to give you a constant flex throughout the shaft for maximum power.

Pureblade Power

The Pureblade Power was upgraded from the original Pureblade technology in the Surgeon Rx3.1 in two ways:

1. We changed the blade core by reducing the amount of carbon and replacing it with a lightweight, yet highly durable foam.

2. We re-engineered the 3k weave on the front of the blade to increase overall stiffness for added power.

Puregrip Geometry

When compared to the traditional square shaft profile of the HPR2, the Surgeon Rx3.1 features our patented ergonomic design to increase hand contact on the shaft, resulting in more control of the puck.

User questions & answers

Question: Are they curved or straight? Also if it is curved is it possible to curve the other way
Answer: maybe a 48" I am 6'1" and the 56" is perfect for me
Question: Is this stick for a player who shoots right
Answer: "Good afternoon. This stick is made of multi-ply poplar/birch shaft, with a polymer blade and a vinyl graphic wrap. Thank you."
Question: ok for the ice? Right size for a 5'2 person
Answer: No, the blade will remain stiff and ungiving. When you shoot a shot hard, the shaft will bend a little bit, but not the blade.
Question: I'm 5'7 would this work for me for street hockey? Or with roller blades
Answer: When you grip the stick, getting ready to shoot - which way are you most comfortable? Do you have your left hand low on the stick and the right hand up by the end (knob)? If so, you are a left-hand shot. If right hand lower and left hand up by the knob, you are a right-hand shot. Today's stick blades are shaped so that when you go to shoot (a forehand shot), the puck-side of the blade will be slightly sloped upwards, and slightly curved to make a bit of a cup - both features designed to shoot harder and with more control.
