However, the neck line is far back enough that you are able to clip the loop. One of our dogs wears a harness we have no problem clipping the loop in the back nor the loop in the front. The problem with this saddle rack is that if it’s in a high traffic area and gets bumped a lot your saddle will fall off. Now I have a larger barn and my saddle is in a corner that has no traffic and it never falls off the rack. The wood rack itself is 18” long. |

| Answer: | it is folding you don't use any wrench, I didn't use anything just took my two hands and spread it...that is if you purchased the same one. This is a heavy durable stand and I had a heavy 16" western leather saddle on it with stirrups and put an array of stuff on the bottom shelf. I love it...not flimsy! Hope this helps |
