Answer:	Grandkids only used it a few times. It should last though. It’s made of decent wood with polymer balls. Wickets are a little flimsy. Easy to bend. My main issue was that the set was mismatched (Mallet heads, shafts and balls) and they wouldn’t do anything about replacing the wrong colours for the correct ones. I got a refund after some customer service hassle.

Answer:	metal threads as in the gates the balls go through (yes metal) or as in the handles screwing into the mallet head (no wooden)?

Answer:	This definitely is not a professional set! Cheap mallets, cheap balls, cheap turn posts. Probably for kids on turf. Not for adults on grass!

The Deluxe Croquet Game Set contains 8 hardwood maple mallets which are lathe-turned and hand painted in sectioned rings with matching colors to their corresponding balls. A polished brass ring adorns each end of the mallet head to prevent the wood from cracking and smashing. The two stakes are lathe-turned with multicolored sections. The nine 5/32" diameter vinyl-coated, metal wickets are very substantial and will not easily bend. The balls are made from a plastic polymer and are 3-5/16" in diameter. It comes ready to play with a wooden holder to keep your game organized.

Answer:	Yes , the classic or original version they are wood , we had a set when I was a kid we played for hours
