Question:	Anyone have any issues with their recording schedules disappearing? Mine wiped all my schedules
Answer:	Ok I don't have this model but I have another model by same company (HW-150pvr) and it is dumping schedules too. I've had two units over 4 years and it's happened in the past but happening a lot more now. I'm on Amazon to find a replacement because this is unacceptable. I'm thinking Mediasonic is to be avoided.

Answer:	I used a 500GB salvaged out of an old laptop that was totally dead. I ordered a cheap $7.99 ORICO USB3.0 to SATA III 2.5" External Hard Drive Enclosure from Amazon as well to mount it in. Worked perfectly. I've also used a cheap (free) 32GB USB thumb drive that I didn't have any problem with. Got that thumb drive free from a Microcenter computer store.

Question:	I have a smart tv with the antanna conection broken off the back. Can I use this for my (antenna in) and (hdmi out) to the tv
Answer:	This will output over HDMI, yes. My TV doesn't have a built in tuner, and therefore has no coaxial input. I output to the television over HDMI without issue.
Question:	does a hard drive have to be fat32. How do you do this with a hard drive
Answer:	Can not get it to recognize NTFS via USB. Have a 2019 firmware on the device (bought is 2019) and still will not recognize NTFS. Worse than that it will not recognize a FAT32 drive formatted. Can see a small FAT32 (less than 32GB) but that is it.
Question:	Does this box work with Comcast
Answer:	It "might" work on Comcast cable for Comcast's basic cable package, which is their first few analog channels. These are normally unscrambled/non-encrypted channels. You can test to see if you have that available on your Comcast cable, by plugging the coax cable directly into a TV (with a tuner) and see if you are getting any of the starting basic cable channels. Or call your cable provider and ask them if their very basic cable package offers unencrypted channels. When using this box on a cable system, you must change it to in the setup menu. This box will only pick up any non-encrypted, non-scrambled analog cable channels.
Question:	Can this do analog cable tv
Answer:	The ViewTV AT-300 --WILL-- handle non-scrambled, non-encrypted analog cable channels. That is, those basic cable channels that are on most cable systems that do not require a box from the cable company in order for your TV to receive these basic analog cable channels. The "box" that the cable company provides, are for those scrambled/encrypted cable channels that do require the cable box with a CableCard in order to receive these. The scrambled/encrypted cable channels are those of the upper tier packages that most cable providers offer, in addition to the hand full of basic (analog) cable channels. When using the AT-300 for basic, unscrambled, unencrypted analog channels, you must setup the unit for "CABLE" in the setup menu, rather then for "AIR" which is for OTA (over-the-air) broadcasts. However, this unit will not do BOTH OTA and CABLE at the same time though, (its either one or the other) but you can purchase a second unit for both your basic cable and your OTA, if you have multiple inputs on your TV (i.e. coax input and 1 or more HDMI inputs, or multiple HDMI inputs, etc.)

Answer:	It should work with any USB connection. I've used mine on my custom built tower which has USB 3.0 ports and my Sony Vaio laptop in both the 2.0 and 3.0 ports.
Question:	How many integrated tuners
Answer:	The length of the cable is 8" from the end of the hub to the end of the usb plug. I think some of the confusion comes from the multiple device listings on the same page. I believe the one I bought had a promo code and was the base model. That one comes as the hub alone. If you look closely, the other ones are listed with a 3 foot USB extension cable. It all depends what you are looking for. In my case I didn't need the extra 3' of cable laying on my desk. It worked fine for my older laptop with one USB 3.0 plug. Mine did not lose connection however as another customer had experienced. Hope this helps you out there and sorry for the delay in answering.

Answer:	Electronic Program Guide data is transmitted OTA embedded in the ATSC signal- whereas it seems that most new TVs dont decode this data- this box does decode this data. You can click OK on a broadcast and it will "book" it for recording It uses this data to set the recording scheduleYou can also program recordings the old fashioned "manual" way, so look up you broadcast schedule on the internet and go in and program the channels and times you want it to record. It is not a grid style guide- the EPG shows you the upcoming broadcasts on the current channel. To see the guide for another channel- the box actually changes to that channel to show you that channels data.
Question:	Apologies if this has already been asked: can I watch one channel while recording another with this product? Could I watch "Scandal" on ch 4-1 while recording "Elementary" on ch. 7-1, for example? Otherwise, sounds like a good option for "cord-cutting" with my LCD HDTV
Answer:	Yes, you can watch one channel and record another as long as you connect this product to an HDTV and set the modulation mode under the channel search menu to Loop Through.Although, you cannot watch a PREVIOUSLY recorded show while recording another channel.
Question:	how much memory does it come with to record? and is the HD good like with cable
Answer:	It doesnt come with any onboard memory for recording. You have to supply the memory with a a USB drive. The HD quality is excellent as long as it receives a good signal.For the best results you will want a thumb drive that has fast write speeds for smooth & seamless recording qaulity.Also, you need roughly 6 to 8 gigabytes of storage space per hour of recording, it varies greatly depending on the quality.It is recommended that you use a at the least a 16 gigabyte thumb drive for your own convenience.

Answer:	The manual tells you. Read it! It’s too involved for me to explain it. It is simple after you read it. Just do what I did play with the remote and you can figure it out easily. I didn’t read the manual either. Don’t have time for that mess.

Answer:	I bought 2 of these. Never could get the date and time to work accurately. Finally replaced them with RCA boxes. However, to answer your question, according to the instructions you can program the Circuit City boxes for future shows. I did program one of mine to do so but because of the date/time issue never recorded the shows I wanted. Therefore my advice to anyone considering the purchase of a Circuit City box is...Reconsider! Get an RCA! They work better.

Question:	It appears this will pass through a digital signal to my HDTV that does not have it's own tuner. Is this true? My Sony does not have HDMI inputs
Answer:	Usually people seek "passthrough" with these tuners (Mediasonic HW-150, ViewTV AT-300, etc.) so they can record using the external tuner while watching a different channel on their tv's tuner. That's usually what "passthrough" means for these devices. This device doesn't make much sense to me. It talks about being an analog to digital convertor. But, it's a digital tuner. It doesn't have the passthrough option in the menu like the other tuners do.
Question:	is this a qam converter
Answer:	Updated information to question: I have Verizon Fios TV Basic. No converter box. I have the coax cable connected directly to the TV. I did a cable channel search an I can tune in basic stations (similar to OTA) on both my TVs. The set up is inconvient and I would like to use your converter box for the HDMI and remote control features Roku lacks. Will your convert box do work for my application?

Answer:	The chip used in all these dvr/converter boxes (regardless of brand name) labels the recordings according to channel name - date - and time (in 24 hour format). For example, a recording listed as "WDAF-DT-04142019-2030.mts" translates to: Channel recorded = "WDAF-DT"; Date "04142019" = April 14, 2019; Start time "2030" = 8:30 PM; video format = mts --------------------------------------- WHY USE THIS CRYPTIC FORMAT? Because the "guide" (the EPG) depends on each station actually broadcasting program information for each time slot, and a great many stations are very deficient in doing that (some NEVER publish ANY program info), the naming scheme had to be based on facts that would always be known.
Question:	What are the option 1 & option 2 buttons on the remote for
Answer:	Each can be programmed for any function performed by another device remote (not just your TV remote). I use Option 1 for channel up/ Option 2 for channel down on my cable box. Follow the instruction manual and remember - the ends of the remotes must face each other to transfer the function code.

The final option, 'Video' will allow playback of any videos in AVI, MKV, MPG, and MKV formats. During video playback, you can press the green SCHD button on the remote, to cycle between preview and full-screen modes.

The DVR function can be done two ways: A recording can start and stop using the red REC and STOP buttons on the remote, respectively, allowing for impromptu recordings at any time. The device can also schedule recordings by pressing the green SCHD button on the remote. From there, the channel, start time, and end time can be set and the box will automatically record and end at the scheduled times. This can also be set to record daily (every day, including weekends), weekly (once a week), or just once. However, the box’s recording functions are limited to one at a time and can only have no more than 30 scheduled recording jobs saved onto the box’s memory.

Question:	I have a real old tv. will it work
Answer:	Tests show the Black Berkey filters remove up to 95% of lead and a host of other heavy metals.
Question:	I have an older hitachi big screen tv with coax connection. Will this work for it on it's own or do i need one of those digital boxes also? Thanks
Answer:	There's plastic in it (the screws) so that sets off prop 65. The Plastic itself is safe but in the manufacturing some things are used that aren't. Prop 65 is waay too vast to be useful.
Question:	Can you use this with the fire stick plugged in
Answer:	In an independent test done last year, the Black Berkey filter elements with the PF-2 attachments filtered out the following:Uranium: 100%Lead: 100%Mercury: 99.8%Cesium: 98.6%Aluminum: 86.6%Copper: 100%Arsenic: 100%Strontium: 100%Cadmium: 100%The test they performed in this case was only for heavy metals, so it of course filters out much more than just these things, as shown in other tests. This just highlights the heavy metals. Hope this helps!
Question:	Will it work with a fire stick plugged in
Answer:	It depends on how much water you filter & how many filters you use (2 or 4). Also, normal city water varies due to local water hardness. We fill up the filter 1 to 2 times per day (usually twice) with 4 & change them every 6 months, but if we didn't have kids, our filters would probably last us about twice as long. However, this is still cheaper than other filtering methods we've used & does a much better job.

AVOID OBSTACLES

The actual receivable range may highly dependents on your distance and location. Areas with large obstructions such as valleys, mountains, etc, will reduce effective range. Always re-scan channels after moving the hdtv antenna, the result may be better.

Question:	Will the tuner work as a regular TV type tuner
Answer:	The vox unit I got is either cable or over the air but not both.
Question:	Can i use my own external hard drive for storage
Answer:	There is only external hard drive tivo ever supported. That hard drive was discontinued years ago. Newest tivo has taken off the port used to totally remove any thought of support.
Question:	I have the Tivo 4k streaming stick, does this replace it
Answer:	The 4K Streaming Stick does things that this TiVo does not (such as access to apps and other streaming services that this does not support) and this TiVo does things that the streaming stick does not (such as record content from antenna or cable channels).
Question:	I already have a tivo subscription with a yearly fee. should i cancel it after this box arrives
Answer:	Depends if you want to use all boxes. If this one is enough yes cancel. Old boxes will be useless once cancelled. If it was mine I would wait a month to me move all shows over to new tivo box before cancelling monthly one.
