Answer:	No, not too tall. I have mine by a 30 inch tall cabinet with tall sunflowers in, and it's perfect.
Question:	Would these be good for night sky watching
Answer:	Yes I believe I could use mine outdoors. It is only 10" tall so maybe better on a porch.

Answer:	There are no drainage holes, so would have to drill those. The opening is only 5 inches, but may work for a tree. It's only 11.5 inches tall, not sure enough space for a tree to grow big. It could be good start for the tree! Good luck!
