Answer: It does have good resistance. I am only a little over 5 ft and 110 lbs so it is hard for me to judge. BUT I have found there are setting that I cannot do. I have also found that you do not need super high resistance. Variety - e.g. with intervals high to low are as much or more beneficial than a straight high resistance. I have worked out at the gym a lot and you can challenge yourself to burn more calories or or do more rpms at various settings. I think your husband could make this work.
