I believe the main difference between the case for the 5 and the 5s is the area of the home button. The 5 does not have the finger print reader incorporated in the home button like the 5s does. The case that is designed for the 5 (but not the 5s) has part of the case and a rubber button covering the home button. The case designed for the 5s just has a hole cut out of the built in screen protector so that your finger/thumb can actually make physical contact with the home button. If you are not concerned with the hole in the built in screen protector exposing the home button than I believe it will work. I have seen other sellers saying that the case works for the 5 and the 5s. Again, don't just take my word for it, ask the seller!!!
