Answer:	My first one was an earlier model and each battery lasts about 14 months. Take it to a watch shop to ensure the battery is replaced and it is still water resistant. After almost 2-3/4 years the display finally died. I kept wearing it with no display (it still syncs data to the app). Now that it is time for a new battery I am getting the newer model.

Answer:	Yes, it needs to be charged every few days by a proprietary USB cable. The manual says the charge will last seven days without GPS on, and about eight hours of continuous GPS use. I can't verify these times, but I charge mine when I'm in the shower, and haven't run the battery down yet.

Answer:	It does not go around the wrist. It can be worn around the neck, on the belt or be placed in any pocket (pants or shirt). It works equally well in all those situations.

Answer:	This does not have any communication capabilities whatsoever. It is a traditional pedometer. The most high tech component is the battery!

Question:	Tested several times by walking exactly 100 steps. everytime it read around 150, despite me changing the stride length from 30" all the way up to
Answer:	My pedometer is accurate to 1 or 2 steps per 100 when I use the clip on my belt. But I am overweight and it pops off when I use the clip. It is supposed to work in your pocket, but when I put it there it is always over by 15% to 50% (pedometer will say 115, 120, 130, 140, even as high as 150 per 100 steps walked. BTW, this has NOTHING to do with stride length. The stride length is important for measuring miles/kilometers accurately. For me it it is 29 inches, or 1185 steps per mile. If you don't measure your stride length accurately the distance in miles or kilometers will be wrong, even if the number of steps is accurate (as it is for me when I clip it on my belt). I will buy another pedometer that I can use in my pocket or a bag. I don't know if the lanyard works, because I lost it somehow and don't see ow to fasten it on the pedometer anyway. ;-)

When the band needed to be replaced I had to send it into Garmin and, since it was outside the warranty, I had to pay $27. I did get it back pretty quickly though, within ten days of sending it off as I remember.
Question:	Which app does work well with? Myfitness pal?? Or something similar
Answer:	Garmin Connect app works pretty well with my fitness pal for managing activity and calories. Not a ton of features in that integration, but the basics.
Question:	Does the screen start to die around 3-6 months like the original vivosmart
Answer:	i bought 2, 1 for myself and 1 for my little sister. her backlight went out around the 3-4 month mark and mine lasted about 6-7 before going out. very disappointed for the price i paid for them.
Question:	Is this waterproof
Answer:	Garmin specs state that it is water resistant, not waterproof. There is a big difference between the two. Water resistant is defined as able to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely. Waterproof is defined as impervious to or unaffected by water.
