The padding is on the outside providing cushion for knuckles. Unless of course you plan to wear them on opposite hands with padding in the open hand position.

Question:	How are you supposed to measure your hands for these? The diagram makes no sense. From the bottom of the palm to the top of the middle finger
Answer:	It might work for a while, but these stickers are very stiff, so they will not bend to fit a curved surface. You can force them to bend but then the edges or ends will eventually lift off the surface. Imagine putting double-stick tape on the back of a metal ruler, then bending it around a basket ball -- the ends will soon come loose. Some of the stickers in the set are very short, and so they might stay put longer then the rest. These stickers are best used on flat hard surfaces like you might find on a car or truck. - - - One the positive side, they are the brightest reflective stickers I have ever seen.
