Answer:	You're in between sizes, but I would choose the reg/tall option because you would have to extend the short/reg to the maximum setting. Plus, the reg/tall comes with longer shoulder straps that will be more comfortable.

Answer:	The Beta AR probably has one of the top Gore-tex ratings of all the Arc'teryx jackets. Much better than the lighter Paclite membranes. I have a Theta AR jacket (made in Canada circa 2006); the elastic drawstring at the hem delaminated and I was ready to toss it in 2016. I sent it back for repairs but bought the Beta AR when I though I would not get it back repaired. The Beta AR is my go-to for most of the year but the old Theta AR is employed when I wear more layers underneath. Make sure you keep the jacket clean; I used Nikwax products to wash and treat the Theta AR, which is now 14 years old and still pretty waterproof (some water now comes through the fabric at wear points).
