8 best paintball regulators

Paintball regulators play a crucial role in regulating the air pressure used to propel paintballs from a paintball marker (gun). They are essential components of a paintball marker, ensuring consistent and safe performance during games. Here are some key points about paintball regulators:

  1. Purpose: Paintball regulators control the air pressure released from the compressed air tank or CO2 canister into the marker. This regulation is essential to ensure that each paintball is propelled with consistent force and accuracy.

  2. Consistency: Maintaining a consistent air pressure is vital in paintball, as it directly affects the accuracy and distance of shots. Regulators help prevent spikes or drops in pressure, ensuring that each shot behaves the same way.

  3. Adjustability: Many paintball regulators are adjustable, allowing players to fine-tune the marker's performance according to their preferences. Players can increase or decrease the pressure to achieve different shooting characteristics.

  4. Types of Regulators:

    • Inline Regulators: These are typically located directly in line with the air source and the marker. They are often found on high-end paintball markers.
    • Bottomline Regulators: These are located beneath the grip frame and are common on entry-level and rental markers.
    • Tank Regulators: Some compressed air tanks come with built-in regulators that can be adjusted to set the output pressure.
  5. Gas Sources:

    • CO2: Some paintball markers use CO2 as their gas source. CO2 regulators are designed to work specifically with CO2 tanks.
    • Compressed Air (HPA/Nitrogen): High-pressure air (HPA) or nitrogen is commonly used in modern paintball. HPA regulators are designed to work with high-pressure tanks.
  6. Maintenance: Regular maintenance of regulators is essential to ensure their proper functioning. This may include cleaning, lubrication, and occasional rebuilds or replacements of internal components.

  7. Safety: Paintball regulators also serve a safety function by limiting the maximum pressure that can be delivered to the marker, preventing over-pressurization that could damage the marker or pose a safety risk.

  8. Compatibility: When purchasing a paintball regulator, it's crucial to ensure compatibility with your specific marker and gas source. Different markers may require regulators with specific threading or pressure requirements.

  9. Upgrades: Some players choose to upgrade their paintball regulators to achieve more precise control over their marker's performance or to accommodate specific shooting styles.

Overall, paintball regulators are essential components of paintball markers, contributing to consistent and reliable performance on the field.Players often experiment with different regulator settings to find the optimal balance between accuracy, range, and efficiency for their style of play.

User questions & answers

Question: How do I adjust air flow rate? Which valve
Answer: Friend: I'm a pcp tuner and I know PCP's pretty well, number one must be sure the regulator threads are same threads as the tank, number two need to make sure that the gun will stand the amount of pressure you're planning to put on it, keep in mind that your gun seems to have a standard operational pressure of 1100 psi and the regulator you're planning to use has a minimum output pressure of 1600 psi wit a maximum of 3000 psi depending how you set it, so I'll suggest try with a reg wit no more than 1400 psi just in case
Question: Which valve adjusts output pressure
Answer: Thanks for your message. There is a screw need to be lose and rotate the cap to adjust the output rate, please contact seller for the details.
Question: Can this be purchased with 1800 PSI output
Answer: yes
Question: Can ninja shims be used to increase pressure
Answer: Thanks for your question. If you bought a 800psi, which means it's output rate.
Question: What is the thread size of this? The part that goes into the paintball gun
Answer: As stated by other respondent - As long as you match the PSI rating on the bottle and regulator, you are good to go. This is for a 4500psi bottle
Question: Will this reg fit my c.p. (custom products inc.) 50/4500 "stubby" tank? thanks
Answer: No , it is meant for paintball and paintball markers requière higher pressure
Question: Will this fit my basic empire carbon fiber hpa tank
Answer: No , the regulator is rated for the pressure inside the bottle ,4500 psi and reduces it to 800 psi output which is what most markers handle , you can remove the shims inside the regulator to reduce the pressure further for electronic markers that use low pressure , there is a few YouTube tutorials available to show you how to remove the shims
Question: My respounse trigger dident work well with his because some one said the psi has to be higher will this work
Answer: we dont stock those my apologies
Question: Will this regulator work with a 3,000psi tank? i want to increase the output pressure on my .22 smg from 1100 psi using hpa. want it to fire over 1k f
Answer: Carbon Fiber tanks sold in the US are threaded 5/8"-18 UNF 2B. They should fit... I've put Ninja Regulars on Valken, OEM, and Gorilla tanks. I don't have direct experience with Dye (I own several Ninja Regulators), but from reading other posts of people's experience Ninja Regulators fit on Dye tanks without issues. Make sure use the correct strap wrench on the tank and use a regulator spanner (I made mine) when replacing the regulator unit on the tank.
Question: I purchased a variable output regulator for my air bottle. How do I change the output to 3000psi in order to fill my air gun from my bottle
Answer: Off the top of my head I'm note sure. But it does fit pretty mush all standard hpa paintball tanks at 4500 psi or 3500 psi depending what modle regulator you buy
Question: Will it work on the air Venturi hpa tank 13 ci
Answer: It should yes, the reg is 4500psi the tank is 4500psi They match they should work Amazon has good return policies check them out in case
Question: I bought the 800 psi. Is that the output? Or input
Answer: Says right in the description “Output Pressures: Standard: Adjustable (450 to 800 psi) SHP: Adjustable (1100 to 950 psi) SLP: 300 psi” so no. Don’t know why u would want it that high.

User questions & answers

Question: i am new to this and just got a .25cal air rifle, it says fill it to 2900psi, will this regular work? it says up to 800psi out? if not any suggestion
Answer: 1/2" BSPP goes into the gun (I believe but should double check) 5/8" -18 UNF goes into the bottle (of that I'm sure)
Question: will the ninja pro v2 regulator valve work on the umarex gauntlet cylinder
Answer: My husband who I bought this for said it should because the threading is the same.
Question: Is it the m18x1.5 threads
Answer: Yes. HPA tanks from Empire and other makers use common threading. Regs from Ninja and other brands are all compatible.
Question: Will this work on any 4500psi tank or does it have to be a tank made by ninja
Answer: Your? What trigger? I think you mean response trigger for tippman's? If so this wont work with tippmans as the working pressure of tippmans is higher than the slp reg can provide. You want the other models. The slp stands for super low pressure for markers that use low operating pressure.

Co2 is stored at very high pressure and a liquid Co2 is at cryogenic temperatures which can cause injury, burn, explosion, or death. Co2 should be handled by a trained professional and extreme caution should be taken when dealing with Co2. For safety always wear protective gear.

User questions & answers

Question: Is it a true fully adjustable regulator, say in the range of 90-140 psi? My intention is to use it for my air horns in my car
Answer: The steadiness of it at lower pressures (30 PSI or less) is somewhat wobbly. But anything above 80 PSI 'n she's steady as a rock. Be advised, it is designed for low-flow. Be advised, continuous CO₂ flow from a liquid source tank through a pressure regulator will freeze up a regulator. The smaller the regulator, the more susceptible it is to this fundamental fact of physics. Intermittent use is not generally a problem. Steady honking to completely empty a 2-lb tank is likely to be a problem.
Question: What rupture disk fits this regulator? Looks to be 3000K
Answer: The rupture disk rating must match your tank design. This one DOES have a 3KPSI disk.
Question: Can you use this with a co2 tank with a siphon tube for airing up a tire or two
Answer: Not sure what a siphon tube is. Yes you can use this to air up tires. That is exactly how I use mine. Hooked up to air hose and air chuck
Question: Where can I buy just the safety release assembly (part 52 in schematic
Answer: I have them. Unfortunately, I do not sell them on Amazon.
