User questions & answers
Question: | Does it float |
Answer: | The connection for the two halves is very tight, and it should float for a very short time, but I'd still get a tether. |
Question: | Do these paddles float |
Answer: | Yes they float just fine. I tested mine in the swimming pool first. Great paddles. Probably best value for an amazing product out there. |
Question: | Do paddles come apart for storage |
Answer: | Yes paddle comes apart and has three different locking positions. |
Question: | what size paddle should i buy |
Answer: | I'd recommending reading through a variety of tips from the many sources available on the internet. A lot of factors go into "correct" length, including your body configuration, the width of your kayak, the type of paddling you do, and on and on. For instance, I prefer a short paddle (220 cm) with big blades for moving water, but need to use a longer (230 cm) paddle for flat water. If I went to a 240 cm paddle for flat water, tracking would be a problem. This is indeed a non-answer-sorry about that-so I'll just say that my flat-water preference would be to error on the long side, and for moving water, error on the short side. And by the way, my Magic Plus is great. |

Answer: | The shaft is not padded. |
Question: | Is this feathered or not feathered? Or can it be adjusted either way |
Answer: | It can be adjusted either way. |
Question: | do these break down to put in a backpack |
Answer: | These break down into 2 pieces where each piece would be about 46 to 50 inches. So no, they wouldn't fit in a backpack. There are other paddle models though thatdo break down into 4 pieces (AirKayaks.com has them). What I like about these paddles is that, for an inexpensive model, the connections are very good with no wobble. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I need a 240cm paddle, would that be size 87 or |
Answer: | Welp 240cm is actually 94” |
Question: | How sturdy/flexible are the plastic blades |
Answer: | I have used this every weekend, 3 seasons, for 2 years. It is still in new condition. I use it on lakes. The blades are non-flexible. If you are going to use this on rivers with obstacles the results may be different. |
Question: | any one know the true weight (not shipping weight) for 87in. paddle |
Answer: | I bought the 96" version, and it weighs 2.6 pounds, so the 87" paddle would be slightly less. I find longer one has better reach for easier paddling,. is light and easy to handle. Incidentally, the weight of mine includes the weight of 20" long neoprene grip cushions on each half of the paddle - that definitely prevents getting blisters between thumb and forefinger! Well worth the slight extra investment and weight. |
Question: | Do these work well in snow |
Answer: | If you're asking about Snowyaking, I can't answer that as I haven't been brave/stupid enough to try that. But, I'm not sure the quality required for that, if you expect them to end up bent to hell at some point, because I can guarantee that would happen in a crash at some point. If you're talking about taking it down a snowy/icy river or on a lake, I'd imagine they work just as well as you could reasonably expect. For the price I love these and the feel of them in regular water, and they feel highly durable. But not as durable as your high dollar paddles, nor will they cut as well. But they far outperform the price. Sorry I couldn't provide an experienced answer to your specific situation. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can these be feathered in both directions for those of us who use left hand control |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | does this paddle separate into two pieces |
Answer: | Easily snaps apart. Solid fiberglass construction. Weight equal to more expensive $300 paddles |
Question: | I like to stay color co-ordinated! Would it be possible to paint this paddle to black or lime green to match my planned kayak purchase |
Answer: | I don't see why not. I painted lines around the handles to distinquish my paddles from my wife's and there has been not trouble with that. |
Question: | I am 5'4" what length should I get |
Answer: | 220 should be fine. My wife is 5'1 and I'm 5'11 and the 220 works for us both. Basically don't over think it. That's my tendency :-) |
