Answer:	You don’t have to deflate it. I do because I have a small car and no rack on top. I have friends that keep it inflated and just tie it on the roof when the go out. Just be careful, I had a friend with a different brand board and it popped while driving.

Answer:	I don't believe there is a size chart, but with a 11-1/2" foot, along with the boot, I use a large and it fits perfect. The strap is a coil-like strap that stretches well, but does not become loose. Overall, these fins are great, I hope you find your answer and pick-up a pair.
