12 best mens diving watches
Men's diving watches are specialized timepieces designed for underwater use and are popular among divers and outdoor enthusiasts. These watches are built to withstand the rigors of underwater environments and provide essential features for tracking time and depth while submerged. Here's what you should know about men's diving watches:
Water Resistance: Diving watches are known for their high level of water resistance. They are typically rated in meters (m) or feet (ft) and are designed to withstand water pressure at significant depths.Common ratings include 100m, 200m, 300m, and even 1000m or more for professional diving watches.
Rotating Bezel: Diving watches feature a rotating bezel with markings to track elapsed time. Divers use this feature to monitor their dive time and calculate decompression stops. The unidirectional rotating bezel prevents accidental adjustments, ensuring safety underwater.
Luminescent Markings: Diving watches often have luminescent hands and hour markers for easy readability in low-light conditions underwater. High-quality luminous materials like Super-LumiNova are commonly used.
Screw-Down Crown: The crown (the knob used to set the time) on a diving watch is typically screw-down, creating a watertight seal. This feature prevents water from entering the watch case during dives.
Helium Escape Valve: Some professional diving watches, designed for deep-sea exploration, include a helium escape valve. This valve allows trapped helium gas to escape during decompression, preventing damage to the watch crystal.
Strap Options: Diving watches often come with rubber or silicone straps that are durable and resistant to saltwater. Stainless steel bracelets are also common, providing a more rugged and versatile option.
ISO Certification: Many diving watches adhere to the ISO 6425 standard, which sets specific criteria for dive watch performance. ISO-certified watches have undergone rigorous testing to ensure their water resistance, durability, and accuracy underwater.
Movement: Diving watches can feature various types of movements, including automatic (self-winding), quartz, and, in some cases, mechanical movements. Automatic movements are popular due to their traditional appeal and the absence of a battery.
Depth Ratings: It's crucial to choose a diving watch with a depth rating suitable for your diving needs. For recreational divers, a watch with a 200m water resistance rating is generally sufficient. Professional divers may require higher ratings.
Style and Design: Diving watches come in various styles, from classic and elegant to robust and utilitarian. Some brands offer limited-edition or vintage-inspired models that appeal to collectors and enthusiasts.
Price Range: Diving watches vary in price from affordable options suitable for recreational divers to high-end luxury models with advanced features. The price often reflects the watch's materials, craftsmanship, and brand reputation.
Men's diving watches are not only functional tools for underwater exploration but also stylish accessories suitable for everyday wear. Whether you're an avid diver or simply appreciate their robust design and precision, a well-chosen diving watch can be a valuable addition to your collection.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will I be able to engrave the watch if I wanted to |
Answer: | Its practically the same watch but the EF-527D-1AVEF has a couple dial changes with red accents in small portions of the display |
Question: | What is lumed? hands, marker set point |
Answer: | Dimensions (H x W x D) 51,00mm x 45,50mm x 11,40mm |
Question: | Is the watch good for swimming |
Answer: | No dual time. |
Question: | When swapping out the band would it require a 22mm band or a 20mm? Description says 20mm but some reviews state otherwise. Thanks |
Answer: | Not directly. However, you can divide 3600 by the number of seconds it took you to travel one mile to calculate your speed in miles per hour. Line up the '10' on the outer dial with the number of seconds it took you to travel one mile. Look at the 36 (3600) on the inner dial. The number on the outer dial over 36 will show your speed in mph . If it took you 36 seconds or less to travel one mile, multiply the number on the outer dial by 10. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How bright is the lume and how long does it last |
Answer: | It came just after a week 9 days to be precise. Also got a refund of 35$ on import duty to U.A.E. |
Question: | Does it come with citizen box and papers |
Answer: | No there are two different models one with a stanless steel strap and the other with a leather strap. The one on this picture is the leather strap one.Rgds |
Question: | Does the crown screw down |
Answer: | It depends on what you mean by "Authentic" It is genuinely made by Bulova. However, Bulova is a pale shadow of its former glory days. It used to be one of Amecica's premier mechanical and experimental electric "tuning fork" watch manufacturers. It is now wholly owned by Citizen and uses quartz movements. That said, they are amongst some the highest frequency quartz oscillators in regular use and for the price are excellent Vale. Bulova made a prototype watch for Dave Scott the commander of Apollo 15, for him to trial in space and on the moon. He damaged his NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster and did indeed use the Bulova mechanical prototype he was given in its place on the moon. It was a one-of-a-kind and sold recently for 1.3 million USD. This re-edition in commemoration of that mission has the look of the original - just google "Dave Scott's Bulova", so for me as a watch collector and Apollo space enthusiast and not have a spare couple million, it was excellent value at only a few hundred. It would have been nicer if it was a mechanical movement, but the high frequency quartz if quite accurate and moves much more smoothly than more common frequency quartz movements. Its "Authentic" enough for me under those circumstances |
Question: | how do you adjust band for size |
Answer: | It is water resistant to 50 meters, not 30 meters. Water resistance ratings are more complicated than most laymen understand. The rating is what a new, intact watch can withstand in a static test. This means the equivalent pressure of say 50 meters of water without the watch being moved. That would be about 5 atmospheres of pressure. They are usually tested a bit above that rated depth, say 25%. When a watch is moved under water, the dynamic pressures put additional "strain" on seals. So, your arm going through a swimming pool at a depth of say 3 meters, is actually putting more pressure on the watch than it would if it were just sitting there 3 meters under the water. And this is extremely important, NEVER PRESS THE CHRONOGRAPH BUTTONS OR PULL THE CROWN OUT WHILE SUBMERGED!!! There are diving chronographs out there that are designed to be able to withstand that, but they cost more than some small cars. Typically: 30 meters or 3 atmospheres is: suitable for everyday use. Splash and rain resistant. 50 meters or 5 atmospheres is: suitable for swimming, white water rafting, and fishing. 100 meters or 10 atmospheres is: suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports. 200 meters or 20 atmospheres is: suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports and skin diving. Anything above this is a professional diver's watch and you should know if you bought of of those. If a watch only says "water resistant", then it is just 30 meter's resistant. Old watches used to say "waterproof", but that was misleading and modern watch manufacturers can no longer use that word. I hope this helps clear up this question that keeps reappearing. |

Question: | So, make this one automatic and I would like to buy it. Anything happening like this |
Answer: | This watch is 10 ATM Waterproof , But I suggest that you don't press the buttons underwater. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you have to buy citizen watch bands? My old citizen watch would only accept citizen bands, and they jacked the price up to 56$ each. 1yr. ea |
Answer: | Great question. Yes, the watch last a lifetime, the band does not. Do a search on Google for Citizen Watch Bands. There are many availabe. The model number of your watch is on the case. I found a replacement band that works perfectly. And I found one cheap. |
Question: | Is japan made |
Answer: | All Citizen Eco-Drive movements are made in Japan but the case or the bracelet may also be made in China. |
Question: | Does this watch have superluminova on the waych hands |
Answer: | not sure exactly what superluminova even is, but the watch hands and number markers glow in the dark. Just to add to that, if you're considering this watch, get it. I bought this as just a beater that I could abuse so that I could save my Omega some wear and tear. This watch is absolutely amazing for the price. The rubber strap is comfortable and strong, its got a nice size face that not too big and not too small. Its easy to read in low (or no) light situations, and looks really good. I get compliments on it all the time. I've abused the hell out of it for the last two years, including a dive in the Mediterranean last summer. No regrets with this watch. |
Question: | The description says "depth measurement", how does that work |
Answer: | This watch does not provide depth measurement. |

Answer: | Scott, I honestly had no idea so I just looked the watch up on Amazon which includes the Invicta manufacturers info on diameter, case thickness and band width. Per that information, the band width is listed as 21mm. Since most bands come in 20, 22 and 22 milimeter widths, I assume you are going to need to buy a 22 and then nip a tiny bit off where it attaches to the watch case. I have tried this in the past and it turned out less than optimal in appearance forcing me to live with a smaller size band than what I needed which also looked less than optimal. So unless you find one that is exactly 21mm, I would stick with the stainless band. Even if you do find a 21mm band, how will you ever match the red stitching in the band with the deep red color in the bezel? Tom R. |

About the Kamasu Collection
We couldn't help but be inspired by the fearsome barracuda, evidenced from the teeth-like hands and markers to the resilient sapphire crystal. Only after diving into the design and specifications of the Kamasu will it be clear as to why it stands alone as a collection. “Kamasu” is the Japanese word for Barracuda, a fitting name for a watch where the triangular hour marker and arrow hands resemble teeth.
