Question:	What's the lowest temperature Nest will take for the away setting
Answer:	The lowest setting for away mode is 40 degrees. Nest has a built in safety feature and will kick the furnace on if the temperature falls below this. However, you can adjust away mode to your liking. Mine is set at 60 for low and 80 for high.
Question:	If I do not have internet will it still work
Answer:	The NEST unit will work as a normal thermostat and simply set upper and lower limits for temp if you use the range settings . there is a blue color dot for cooling temps setting and red balls /dots for heating. Internet allows you to get an IP number which will then let you control temps via a smartphone or computer . Without internet you can not reach the unit remotely. The NEST also uses the internet to sense the weather. Humidity it can do natively without internet access. I have internet and like to turn my nest cooling on in my car about 20 minutes from home , so the house is cooling down when I walk in . I have a variable schedule so difficult to predict when to have the blue dot activation for cooling , so I just do it from my phone as needed. Hope that helps.

Answer:	It reconnects just like any wifi device (phone, laptop, etc). I've never had an issue with the Nest not automatically reconnecting right away.

Now it’s frequent periods of time where the thermostat will not respond to remote commands. It’s maddening
Question:	What if i have a C wire
Answer:	When you put it on circulate, the fan comes on for about 10 minutes every 20 minutes or so. The owners manual says it runs about 35% of the time. I used this feature this Fall with the system off (no heat or a/c) just to circulate the air through my Filtrete filters.

Answer:	It will reconnect automatically once your power comes back on as long as the modem/router also comes back on and reconnects to the internet.
Question:	What is difference between this thermostat and the white wifi version
Answer:	I called Honeywell and was told the "C" wire is blue and in fact mine is blue. I have no black wire. I have 5 wires yellow, white, blue, green and red. I was told I could check for AC voltage by connecting my meter to the red and blue wires. The Honeywell tech was very helpful. 800 468-1502.
Question:	Does this have the capability of showing me a temperature chart of the past 12 hrs
Answer:	There is no functional difference between the two. This TH9320WF5003 is white and the RTH9580WF1005 is silver. The RTH9580WF1005 is the retail model with a 1 year warranty and this one is intended to be a contractor only model with a 5 year warranty. Honeywell's former policy was that the TH9320WF5003 warranty wouldn't be honored if not installed by a contractor. However, they have since changed this. You now get 1 year with this too if you install it yourself.

Answer:	the answer is in the product number. 6110 does 1 heat & 1 cool. 6220 does 2 heat and 2 cool, 6320 does 3 heat and 2 cool.

Answer:	Yes, but it must be configured to do so. If you see only "heat/cool/off" in the mode screen, then press "fan" and "up" simultaneously. When the screen changes, press "next" until you reach option 12. Setting "0" enables "heat/cool/off" in the mode screen, while setting"1" enables "heat/cool/auto/off." Setting "3" is "auto/off" only. When you press "done," your mode screen will show the option you selected. FYI: In "auto" mode, the "heat" temperature at any time must always be at least 3 degrees less than the "cool" temperature.

Question:	Is this product compatible with the Bosch Greenstar condensing boilers
Answer:	Yes there’s an auto function. You can set your desire temp and set it to either “heat, cool, auto” and if the thermostat is set to auto, it will adjust to the temp by cooling or heating. If it is set to either heat or cool, then the thermostat will just cut off once it reaches its temperature by heating or cooling. It won’t constantly adjust. Just heat when needing heat. And cool when needing cooling.

Answer:	It has dim bright and off. Very nice
Question:	Will it automatically switch switch between heat and cool to maintain desired temp
Answer:	The main unit,, thermostat, will shut off when the desired temperature reaches the set temperature at the sensor if the sensor is selected on the nest app.

Question:	How to wire up voice thermostat with only 2 wires ,r and w
Answer:	In most cases, Nest thermostats can get enough power from your system’s heating and cooling wires. But in a small number of situations you may need to connect a common or C wire to deliver enough consistent power to your thermostat when your heating and cooling wires are not able to deliver the needed power for your Nest thermostat. Battery drain issues normally happen when the power from your heating and cooling system goes out. The 2 AAA alkaline batteries are used as a backup, or to supplement if your system can’t deliver enough power.
Question:	I don't have a 'C' wire... how difficult is to adapt the Ecobee using the included cable and how is it done
Answer:	No
Question:	If you have an echo (alexa) in the room already, is there a way to turn the alexa on the thermostat “off”? or turn off the microphone/listening
Answer:	I found an interactive video on my utility’s website (Commonwealth Edison) that ran through the wiring questions. It will tell you if your system is compatible with Nest thermostats.

Answer:	This Thermostat truly Rocks!! - It has a screen lock as well as Security codes for front panel access. It also has security if you want to use WiFi to remotely access it. Setup is a breeze also. I HIGHLY recommend this thermostat. The NEST is an excellent choice as well.
Question:	Without battery backup, what happens in a power outage? Is there internal memory that keeps the settings and how long, and is thermostat still usable

Answer:	I have a 5 year old Lux Thermostat. When we bought a new Rheem this past summer, the technician pulled the batteries out of it saying they were not needed. End result, is every time we have a power outage, the thermostat looses it's programming. it losses it when we change back and forth from heat to cool also. I'd be wary of any advice about removing batteries unless you're sure that it does not affect the thermostat memory. i say this as the A/C is on and it's program is set on 72 degrees. i had it set on 75 and have not attempted to reprogram it since that would be just a temporary fix it resets down to 72 often not sure why.
Question:	How do I figure out if this will work with my wiring? I read that there might be issues with the electric wires (might be missing one COMMON wire
Answer:	I just went to Best Buy to play with the RTH9585WF and see what is the difference in the settings. Color options do seem to be slightly different. Both have 7 day programing (four settings per day) plus vacation etc. The literature says the 9585 automatically switches between cool/heat but in 9585 system (MODE) there is only "heat", "cool" and "off". So my guess is the automatic is not a setting you pick. 9560 offers the forth option of automatic and will show heat and cool adjustments on the home page setting on the panel. Other than that I do not see any difference. My guess is the 9585 has a newer chip set but honestly I have no idea. I called Honeywell and the tech could not even tell me the difference other than it's the second generation model. Both work with Alexa and other smart devices and smart hubs. I'm still thinking of returning the 9580 for the 9585 but if I have to switch between heat and cold that is a deal breaker and I kind of like seeing the date when I walk buy. My guess is in a few years Honeywell will over a unit to compete with the Ecobee with something like Alexa built into it. Frankly, I'd purchase the Ecobeen 4 but my wife of 35 years thought the Ecobeen being black and kind of large and the white mounting plate was ugly and after 35 years of marriage I felt like this decision was not worth the fight.
