Answer:	It should. It is a gate the cuts the signal at a predetermined level when you are not playing. But, it does not get rid of the hiss while you are playing. Of the noise gates I have tried, I like this one best. But most heavy metal guitarists swear by the ISP Decimator. However, some reviewers rate this pedal higher than the Decimator.
Question:	Does the platform side have good traction
Answer:	Unfortunately, don’t know the answer. I use it strictly to get rid of Flanger white noise, which it’s still a killer of signal strength. It’s either that or turn the pick-up volume down. Recently, bought a Tech 21 Sans Amp which I haven’t fully implemented yet, but I think it’s going to help me get volume/umphhhh/11 without using the Sentry.

Answer:	I haven't tried using it with a bass but based on how it works I would assume it will work just fine.Sidenote: this thing works wonders. Especially if you play with a lot of distortion

I imagine you are talking about noise!This allows you to fine tune and eliminate a great deal of the background noise you get when you are not playing (hum), as well as some while playing. Answer:	I would use it at the end of your chain . . .the only thing that I use after the noise gate is a delay pedal . . . . so basically all your pedal should be set up first with the noise gate at the end . . except for a delay . . . . . if you find that your delay is noisy then put the noise get the very last pedal

Answer:	Sure! For details around the science, I'll refer you to the longer answer from earlier today - The author there gave a great explanation. The best way to use this pedal is to put it as close as possible to the beginning of your signal chain, and then put as much of your signal chain as you can in the send/return loop for the envelope filter. The only exceptions here are that I would not put delay or worry about putting anything that's already in your amp's effects loop (or after your preamp in your signal chain in general) in this pedal's loop. Try setting up your signal chain without using the pedal's send/return loop and trying to set the knobs on the gate. Now, reassemble your signal chain the way I described and try again. You should notice that you get a lot cleaner gating with a lot more range in behavior when you use the loop. You'll be able to dial in a soft gate that you barely hear, a gate that "clamps shut" as soon as you stop playing, and anywhere in between if you use the loop.
