Answer:	Fresh water is considered to be any water source but salt water.0.01 Microns will remove just about anything including viruses.It will remove chlorine. Try to put intake hose below the algae using the floater.I would trust this filter in almost any fresh water source, except a pool of nothing but chemicals in it.
Question:	How long is the shelf life
Answer:	According to their literature, they filter down to 0.01 microns, which is 10 nanometers (billionth's of a meter). I looked up viruses, and viruses vary in size from 20 to 400 namometers. That means the smallest virus is twice the size of the holes it would have to fit through! In other words, NO viruses should be able to get through, however, it may be possible if it was very small and constricted somehow, or if there was a minor defect in the structure of the filter, so that's probably why they aren't claiming it's totally impossible for a virus to get through.

Answer:	Only thing I can find is on the sawyer website is the lifetime warranty so if you read it the will fix/replace the filter for life as long as you dont modify the filter in anyway or open the housing or run juice or drink mixes thru it they will replace it the 100,000 gallon guarantee is to tell you you will have it for life you will lose it beforeit breaks I hope I was of help you can find all the tech data sheets on there website

Answer:	You are right about the 2 ounces being the filter only-that is what Sawyer advertises. The entire unit, inside the packaging is 4.8 ounces. I cannot take it out to weigh the items outside the packaging as I would need to destroy the container to get them out. I am guessing the plastic covering weighs less than an ounce so the entire unit probably weighs about 4 ounces.
Question:	Your literature says " removes contaminants from Fresh Water". What about algae covered ponds and swimming pools?s
Answer:	This filter is advertised as up to 100,000 gallons by Sawyer. When you begin to notice a decrease in flow, I recommend back flushing with potable water using the included syringe. I normally keep an ounce or two of 90% isopropyl alcohol to sanitize the drinking tip and any tubes I may use when setting up different systems. After use and before long term storage (especially if you filtered a lot of biologically questionable water), it is recommended to run a sanitizing solution of bleach/water (1tbsp plain, unscented bleach to 1 gallon water) through the filter then rinse very well with potable water, shake out vigorously and allow to air dry for several days before capping and placing into storage. An unopened filter should have indefinite shelf life unless it is subjected to extreme temperatures, hot or cold.
Question:	Does this filter viruses
Answer:	Sawyer's claim for the filter is that it removes 99.99999% of all harmful bacteria and 99.9999% of protozoa. Viruses are not included nor are other impurities mentioned. I have written to Sawyer to ask about tannin and brackish water and will reply again once I receive a return message. Question:	Is there a trick to getting clean water through this thing? Even Hulk Hogan couldn't squeeze hard enough as it is
Answer:	The filter should be able to process a gallon of water in less than 10 minutes. Two fixes ... 1. There could be an air bubble trapped in the filter or tube, to remove it, unscrew the end cap that is attached to the tube and filter (make sure you do not get water on the drinking water outlet), then screw the cap tight again and test the flow. 2. Use the included backwashing syringe to clear the filter, there might be much debris from turbid water slowing your flow.

Answer:	There are two replacements for this product. The main membrane would still last for 500 gallons of water and then the carbon capsule is 25. These are two separate filters.

Answer:	I work at a hospital and I'm on my feet for about 75% of the day and these shoes have been great! I used to have to wear gel insoles in my other shoes for extra padding but not with these. I also have chronic low back pain, but I find these shoes very supportive. I would recommend ordering 1/2 size up for the best fit. I usually wear a 7.5 but needed an 8 in these shoes.

Answer:	One week, maybe. This is 10,200 calories total. About 2,500 of those are from the pudding and whey milk. It will not last a month unless you combine it with ample amounts of other foods like rice/beans/etc. I figure it will add a little variety to those types of staples, though.

Answer:	YES. The ebola virus is 0.08 microns in size. Almost no filter will remove this. BUT the LifeStraw Family filters to 0.02 microns, so yes ebola would be filtered out. That is if it mutates to survive in our water supply, which is unknown.

Answer:	On the next packaging run, the shelf life comment will be removed. A short shelf life was stated on original packaging as the product was designed for the high temperatures and stress of the African environment. Stored in our homes here in the USA, there's nothing to cause the product to degrade or expire. Direct and constant sunlight will cause any plastic to eventually degrade, which is why the lifespan statement was developed. If you use it for camping and periodically use and store it, it's a good idea to flush it with tap water and allow it to dry before storing.

However, the male and female quick connect fittings are attached to sections of hose so you can connect the filter to a spigot. To use the Home Water Filtration System you'd have to remove the fittlings from the hose they're connected to and attach the to the hose of the hydration bladder you're going to use. Question:	What are the dimensions of the bottle
Answer:	Yes. The pump does not remove chemicals; acids, oil, gasoline, ect. It is best used in waters that have biological agent contamination; bacteria,viruses, amoeba, particulate matter. It cannot be used in salt water.

Answer:	We used the filter pump on a 4 day trip camping and it worked well, but it does take some effort to maintain your water supply as the pumping can take a while and be a little tedious.

Answer:	The only contaminants this product will remove are those with a physical size of .2 micron or greater. This is sufficient to remove bacteria and protozoa. It DOES NOT use any sort of active chemistry in the filtration process, therefore it cannot remove or neutralize any dissolved chemicals, viruses or heavy metals present in the water. Therefore, it is exceedingly unlikely that it would be of any use in a bioterrorism attack.

Answer:	They ARE narrow. I want a wider size and according to the shoe size chart link, I wanted a 2E, not 4E Ultrawide, BUT Amazon Zappo's only stock the 'normal' Narrow and 4E Ultrawides. @WayneM, there is no 'half size larger' to select, apparently they don't pay attention to what people are buying and they don't bother to restock. I went ahead and ordered the D 'medium' which is actually very NARROW. The shoes came and they just fit me with the laces all the way stretched out. That said, I like them anyway - they're light and the sole is solid. The box only says size 10.5 and No width letter. And they don't show the width letter on the shoe's label either. Good shoe, not great sizing.So, Zappo's / Amazon has some work to do to avoid confusion and returns, just stock the medium wides, please. And start labeling the shoes better.
Question:	What is the flow rate
Answer:	I've been wearing them for walking for almost a year now. I started walking a few hundred yards a day last summer when I weighed 270 and by fall I was walking 6-8 miles a day! I am down to 190 and my asics venture 5s have finally begun to wear out. I normally wear orthotics but have never put them in the asics and my feet are just fine!
