Answer:	Absolutely Not. You need two strong adults and a pry bar of 2 or 3 feet to pry the bar into place and just when it is about to snap into place, it goes around the peg onto the other side. You can slide the fabric down a little but to do that you have to break it down and start folding the frame up before the fabric is loose. All of these are not created equal. You can get 10 of them and 2 of them will be easy for a single 10 year old to setup and the other 8 will need one or two adults and a pry bar and one person will nearly smash, cut, or break their finger or hand when it gets pinched between two parts of the frame. This is a very dangerous product - even for those who are very mechanically included.

Answer:	This pretty is pretty short. It says it is for people 5'7" or less. I got the deluxe because I'm 5'10" - plenty long for me, but too short for my 6'6" husband. I had to find an extra long cot for him. He was surprised they made any cots his size.

Question:	How do you fold the cot up
Answer:	I have a cot that is almost exactly the same as the Coleman, this pad fits wonderfully on my cot. The loop fasteners on the corners do stretch a bit to allow it to fit but they also hold it securely on the cot. This pad does not shift during the night and it made the cot a lot more comfortable. I am ordering a second one for our other cot.
Question:	Does this cot have to be used outdoors or can it be used in s tent without hurting the tent floor
Answer:	That's how we use it on the floor and it sleeps OK. It is thick and does not compress too much as to not be comfortable. It has a heavy canvas like cloth over it that is very well made. It rolls up with the help of a built in bar at one end. It has two heavy nylon straps on it that has well made locks, these have not shown any signs of wear. I am happy with my purchase.
Question:	How to clean the cot
Answer:	I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer, but the pad is certainly large enough. About the size of a single bed mattress. The foam in the pad is 3" thick. If it is still too firm, the foam can be removed and might consider replacing with memory foam. The pad is designed for the foam to be removed so the pad can be washed if needed. The only other issue with using as a "top of bed" for motels is it might move around too much unless you can find a way to secure it. Hope this helps.

Question:	Is this cot comfortable all alone, or do you need to add padding
Answer:	While it's more comfortable with padding, it's perfectly fine without. I've slept on it both ways, I'm a big guy 6'5" 260 lbs, and it was not uncomfortable, quite the opposite. You'll be amazed at how comfortable it is. Also, My body never went numb.
Question:	What is the difference between the xxl le and the xxl
Answer:	The LE has the built in pivot pin to help set the cot up. Without the pin, you will need something to give you some leverage to get the last support in place. I just purchased the XXL LE, and set up is super easy with the pivot pin.

Answer:	My husband is 6'3" and just came back from a camp out. He says 19 inches and very comfortable to get in and out of. Said the other campers have cot envy

Question:	has anyone found a work-around for the noisy aspect - the fabric rubbing on the tubing
Answer:	Some people have mentioned using *dry* teflon lube (powder, not liquid) between the fabric and the tubing. Haven't done it myself yet but...
Question:	Does this cot have the following: Warning, this product contains chemicals, including lead, known to the state of California to cause cancer
Answer:	I have walked into buildings that say that and many many other things. If they could put it on air they would. It's California. Anyway here's some more info. On it is followed by a link to another source.
Question:	Can you feel the bars when ypu lay down
Answer:	I do not feel the bars but it makes nose a lots each time you move. I cannot sleep at all on it, so I sent it back. I do not recommend it at all.
Question:	What is the true weight limit? Second photo shows max 500lbs then in production description shows 250lbs max
Answer:	I am 6 foot 230lbs its fit me fine and seemed ok but I woke up to one of the corner poles broke. Now that doesnt have anything to do with it supporting me in the middle. But 1st use I woke up the next day and a corner piece near the pillow was broke

Answer:	No the height doesn't adjust. The head rest is set in a slight upward inclination...very comfy... It's low to floor (as the pic show) and the length is pretty long for tall people. How tall tho..I'm not sure..it says up to 6'8 ... I'm 5'4 with plenty of leg stretch....it says it holds up to 450lbs... hope this helps :)

Answer:	I’ve had grown adults to teenagers sleep on this cot and no problems. I’d say the weight limit could be up to at least 200/250 lbs

Our History

• It all started in 1880: Byer of Maine began as a maker of slippers and textile products. In the 1920's and 30's we continued refining our stitching operations while also branching out into metal stamping, and fortuitously enough, wooden cot production. When World War II happened, and later the Korean war, we were called upon to supply troops with a place to lay their heads. And we also doubled our efforts to cut and sew canvas supplies for the war effort. It was an honor.
• Expansion of Wood Folding Furniture: Our wooden cot production evolved into a wide assortment of other wooden folding furniture such as chairs and tables. At the same time, our line of folding cots expanded into several styles, and the introduction of aluminum and steel frames
• New products in the 90's: In the late 1990's, we attended The Spoga Trade fair. There we met a young entrepreneur investing in authentic handmade Brazilian hammocks, and joined them to bring these wonderful hammocks to the American market. And just like that, we were in the Brazilian hammock business. In 2006 we continued to expand and created a beautiful line of birding products made of ceramic stoneware.
• Surviving the 2000's: Overseas competition brought drastic changes to the American marketplace. We quickly responded and carefully selected factories in Brazil, China, Vietnam, and Thailand. This allowed us to continue to write our 140-year long history of supplying quality products.
