Question: | whats the inner diameter of the hose |
Answer: | it is a small tank because it is divided holds about 2 gallons of water for the entire tank |
Question: | is it 50hz or 60hx |
Answer: | They take the aqueous 2000 deluxe replacement cartridges |
Question: | What do you have to do to clean/replace material on the inside? Better than the cleaner that sits on the back of the aquarium |
Answer: | Most tetra species get more than 1.5 inches each at adult size. Some species of tetras getting up to 4.5 inches adult size. Putting tetras in this small of a tank is not recommended, because it will stunt them pretty bad and will shorten their life span. Professionally we recommend tetras to be in no less than 10 gallons. They do best in schools of 4 to 6 or more and need to be kept between 78-80 degrees as they are prone to stress and disease if kept in cooler water. Avid tetra owner for 15 years. Just my two cents. |
Question: | Does this filter come with a spray bar |
Answer: | I have this tank and it’s cool but as soon as we went to clean is it was a mess. Normally I do a 20 percent water change and this makes u do 50. Also my bettas have hated the flow of the tank and I’m in the process of getting new tanks for all 3 bettas |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have tons of big fish and I was wondering if I can use a cp4 model on a 75 gallon tank will it be to munch I got monster fish |
Answer: | in my opinion i think cp4 would do just fine, i got cp2 on my 29 gallon saltwater tank and i got a decent amount of flow just right wouldn’t blow my fish away. I suggest you look for some review on youtube so you will have an exact idea of the flow. |
Question: | does is work in 240 v |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Would this be ok to use in my 25 gallon salt water tank |
Answer: | It depends on the amount of circulation you require for your fish and corals. Most likely yes. |
Question: | I have a 75 gallon tank with really big fish just wondering if I use the cp4 model on a 75 gallon that is 48 inches across 18 tall will that be ok |
Answer: | I have a 45 with big fish, I use 2 of these to maintain a steady circular flow (gyre) lengthwise on my tank. 36 inches across, 22.5 inches tall. My fish love it, but it moves sand into dunes. Gravel substrate is unmoved, so if you don't want a constantly shifting bottom, make sure you don't use it on sand on a small tank. Regardless the fish will love it and it won't overwhelm them. Personally I like the dunes effects on the sand as well, looks extremely natural. |

Question: | Debating whether i should get this pump for my ESHOPPS-WD-300 CS. Anyone know whether this pump will be too much for the overflow box to handle |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this operate with a 220 volts supply |
Answer: | 24"×12"×15-3/4" L×W×H... |
Question: | Currently have a 10gallon but will upgrade shortly to a 30ish for a yellow eared turtle. Does this sit on the bottom where it could suck in the food and waste that collects on the bottom where my river rocks are? It has proven hard to get that out and the pleccu is not cleaning it up as of now |
Answer: | I would try and refrain using saltwater setups for freshwater, although the filtration will not cause any harm to the water or your fish. The saltwater light provides high intensity (trying to recreate the sun) and may lead to algae and other pests such as diatoms, which make it a very hard hassle to keep at bay. Best bet if this is the setup you want to find a way to replace the light with some regular leds and save you’re self the trouble of constantly trying to fight algae and bacteria growth. |
Question: | Can I change the direction of the water coming out of the nozzles? For example directing it upwards instead of horizontal |
Answer: | The Fluval Evo V is designed for saltwater having a 11000K light and 3 stage filter, the spec V is for freshwater with a 7000k light. So it depends on what you want to put in the tank. |
Question: | Does the U4 filter have space to add activated carbon pellets |
Answer: | This tank does, but it's not the kind that uses bubbles. It's a simple plastic piece that comes in the kit that you attach to the water return. It causes the surface of the water to slope into the return thus skimming the surface. Fluval also made a protein skimmer that you can purchase separately that was built with this tank model in mind. |

Fluval FX6 is a high performance canister filter with many outstanding features designed to make aquarium fish keeping easier and more convenient than ever. This super capacity yet compact canister filter has a pump output of 925 gallons of water and has a filter circulation of 563 GPH, which both work to produce cleaner and healthier results. Filtering material can easily be placed in a removable stack of media baskets, which is at the heart of Fluval's multistage filtration. The baskets are precision-engineered to eliminate water by-pass, making filtration more efficient. The baskets can hold a total of 1.5 gallons of media and can be stacked in the precise combination of layers that will work best for your aquarium. Each one is lined with a foam insert for effective mechanical pre-filtering. Instant-release T-handles let you lift and separate the baskets quickly and easily, making routine maintenance simple. FX6 also features Smart Pump Technology, which provides optimum filter performance. This advanced technological feature employs an electronic circuit board that continuously monitors the pump. Impeller speed and force are constantly measured to ensure power output and energy efficiency. It also manages the filter's self-starting feature and evacuates air that may enter or build up within the filtration system. On a 12-hour cycle, the pump will pause and allow trapped air to escape, ensuring the best filtration efficiency. Only 21" in height, FX6 fits under most aquariums. Fluval first broke onto the aquatic scene in 1975 by introducing the world’s first 3-stage filter with synchronous motor technology. Since then, Fluval has built a legacy around this pioneering spirit, relentlessly adapting in a changing world to launch innovative aquarium products. User questions & answers
Question: | How does this filter work to keep the surface water clean? I have used canister filters before and always end up with that film on top of the water |
Answer: | Yes you can choose to use them, but put them in the bottom basket because the flow is sucked up and you can cut you flow rate when the polishing clothe gets sucked in up against water return filter screen. (I thought I broke mine then I took it apart and found my mistake). I use a foam pad versus poly fill tho and then just rinse it every month. And there is plenty of room for bio media on top of the foam and in the other baskets. |
Question: | How is it's long-term reliability? I have had several canister filters in the last 15 yrs and all have leaked |
Answer: | Yes you need at least 24" but 36 would be better. The connectors are app. 5" and the hoses are pretty stiff so they don't bend well. I have the same space in my stand and I had to cut out the back to slide it farther back and then I have to disconnect the hoses before I can remove the unit. I will get another stand as soon as I can. You also want at least 20 inches between the top of the tank and the unit. |
Question: | I am sitting up a 75 gallons tank in my office i don't want to clean it a lot what fluval pump would you suggest |
Answer: | Spec says.....80-160 US Gallon which pretty much speaks for itself. get the Fluval FX6 which has a much higher output and made for bigger tanks......even with this filter you need more circulation for a tank of that size. Most specifications are on the high end. I personally wouldn't go bigger than a 100 gallon with the G6 |
Question: | How is the longevity of the FX6 compared to other filters people have owned? (primarily Eheim). I will be using it in a turtle tank if that matters |
Answer: | The water flow is not adjustable as far as I can tell. I have not had the need to adjust as the pressure seems optimal and I have three of these units on three separate aquariums, each with different populations of fish. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it possible to cut a third opening in the middle for an additional biomax bag |
Answer: | Yes you could but that would mean you would have very little mechanical filtration. There won't be enough media left to filter anything. |
Question: | How often does the foam filter need to be replaced |
Answer: | Not unless its falling apart, maybe every 3 years. You replace the charcoal every other month, the ceramic filter, yearly. Do rinse it monthly. These are the guidelines given to me by the tropical fish store I by my fish, and most of my tanks from. |
Question: | i have Top Fin filter on my 20 gallon tank , well i really dont know where do i place this carbon |
Answer: | The top fin filter cartridge product page says the design allows for addition of extra carbon or other filter media. I haven't replaced mine yet, so I don't know what this means. I guess you can add media to the cartridge by cutting a slit at the top. There is room for two of these cartridges. So I'm not sure if they are advertising that the carbon can be added to or replaced. I intend to replace the carbon every 4-6 weeks and keep the cartridge until it falls apart. To answer your question, I would replace the carbon with the same amount or more if it will fit in the cartridge. |
Question: | Does this fit the fluval 13.5 gallon evo |
Answer: | I use it with a 9 gallon fluval tank. It works. |
