It doesn't have a large bag, so you will be fine as long as you don't expect it to suck up big wads of trash, paper, andempty cigarette packs. It does have an electrical cord, so you have to be close to an outlet. I decided to go with it over a cordless because the battery vacs were expensive, had less power and a pretty short run time before the battery went dead and needed to be recharged. |

Did a quick search on google and the Soniclean Soft Carpet Combo Vacuum seems like it'll be good for your mom. Relatively light (10lbs) and excellent marks for shag carpet (both pushing and cleaning). Hope this helps. |

It works really well but noticed that on my hardwood floor, so things are pushed away before the vacuum can get to it, like the air is pushing it, but I was shocked at what an excellent job it did!! I thought my floor were fairly clean, but I guess not, when I emptied the container, it had all kinds of dust, hair, and fuzz balls in it. So far, I am glad I bought it, but I have only used it twice. Hope this helps! |
