14 best liquid ant killers

Liquid ant killers are a type of pest control product designed to effectively eliminate ants that have invaded your home or outdoor spaces. These ant killers typically come in the form of liquid bait stations or gels and are widely used for ant infestations in various settings, including patios, lawns, and gardens.

Here are some key points about liquid ant killers:

  1. Attractant Bait: Liquid ant killers contain an attractant bait that lures ants to the product. The bait is usually sweet or sugary, which appeals to most ant species. This bait serves as the primary lure to entice ants to feed on the poison.

  2. Slow-Acting Poison: The active ingredient in liquid ant killers is a slow-acting poison. This poison is usually a toxic substance like borax or boric acid, which is relatively safe for humans and pets when used as directed. Ants are attracted to the bait and carry it back to their colony, where it is shared with other ants, ultimately leading to the elimination of the entire colony.

  3. Ease of Use: Liquid ant killers are user-friendly and come in ready-to-use containers. You can place bait stations or apply the gel in areas where ants are active, such as along ant trails, near nests, or around entry points to your home. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper placement and usage.

  4. Indoor and Outdoor Use: Liquid ant killers can be used both indoors and outdoors. For indoor infestations, place bait stations in areas where you've seen ant activity, such as kitchens, bathrooms, or near food sources. For outdoor use, apply the bait in locations where ants are congregating, such as around patios, decks, or near garden beds.

  5. Patience Required: It's important to note that liquid ant killers may take some time to achieve full eradication of the ant colony. Ants will continue to feed on the bait and carry it back to the nest over a period of days or even weeks. Be patient and avoid disturbing the bait stations during this process.

  6. Safety Precautions: While liquid ant killers are generally safe for humans and pets when used as directed, it's essential to keep them out of reach of children and pets. Store the product according to the manufacturer's guidelines and follow all safety recommendations.

  7. Effectiveness: Liquid ant killers can be highly effective in eliminating ant infestations when used correctly. However, the specific effectiveness may vary depending on the ant species and the severity of the infestation. It's essential to choose a product formulated for the type of ants you are dealing with.

In summary, liquid ant killers are a common and effective solution for dealing with ant infestations in various outdoor and indoor settings. They work by attracting ants to a bait that contains a slow-acting poison, which eventually leads to the eradication of the entire colony. Proper placement and patience are key to achieving the best results with these products.

Product description

Attract and kill the ants you see, as well as the ants you don’t see with TERRO Liquid Ant Killer. The liquid, which contains borax, is specifically designed to allow worker ants to consume the product, survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest. Ants consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass it around to the rest of the colony. The active ingredient in the bait slowly interferes with the ants’ digestive systems, ultimately killing them. Since this is a bait product, you will initially see more ants as they are attracted to the liquid – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. After the bait is consumed, insect populations will begin to decline. Complete control may take up to two weeks. The 2 oz bottle offers plenty of ant-killing power to eliminate your infestation. For your convenience, TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is easy to use. Simply apply drops of the liquid ant killer directly from the bottle onto the smooth side of the cardboard tiles included on the packaging. Then place indoors on a flat surface near ant trails and other signs of ant activity. The more bait placements, the better. Be sure to leave the ant killer undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it.

TERRO ant killer

TERRO Liquid Ant Killer uses borax to kill the ants you see, as well as the ants you don’t see. It works by allowing the forager ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the sweet liquid back to the nest and deliver a dose to the rest of the colony. Over time, the bait kills the original ant and any ants that also consume it. Complete control may take two weeks.

To use this ant killing liquid, simply apply the product directly from the bottle onto the provided cardboard squares and place near indoor areas where ants are passing. Place TERRO Liquid Ant Killer near ant trails and other locations where they are numerous. Apply the baited cardboard tiles on the edges of sinks, tubs, windowsills, under food cabinets, along floors and baseboards and in corners.

How to Use TERRO Liquid Ant Killer

TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is very easy to use. Before placing the ant killer, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting them elsewhere. Do not place where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the ant killer.

1. Tear the "Place TERRO Here" cardboard tiles from the packaging along the perforated lines. Then, apply drops of the liquid ant killer directly from the bottle onto the smooth side of the tile until they form a small puddle. You may also substitute with small pieces of paper, cardboard or foil.

2. Place the ant killer tiles on a flat surface near signs of target pests. Place additional tiles anywhere they may enter your home. The more bait placements, the better.

3. Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait while they are actively feeding on it. Add more liquid if it goes dry or add more tiles to ensure there's always a fresh supply for the ants.

How Ant Bait Works

TERRO ant bait works by attracting a large number of ants right away – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet liquid. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants at first, followed by a sharp drop off as the bait takes effect.

Meanwhile, the active ingredient, borax, is slowly interfering with each ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing them, but leaving enough time for the ants to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that ants can make several trips to the bait, allowing you to get rid of the ants you see and the ants you don’t. Allow up to two weeks for the bait to take full effect.

User questions & answers

Question: Why is the pricing so weird? It's actually 2x more in bulk! Did someone make a mistake? Sorry for the rhetorical question, silly vendor person
Answer: It has to do with who the actual "seller" is. If you select a quantity of "1", in this case, it is "sold and fulfilled" by Amazon. If you select a quantity of "2" it is "sold" by another company while still being "fulfilled" by Amazon. Yes, both quantities are, as of this writing, "fulfilled" by Amazon but that just tells you that Amazon stores, packages, and ships both items(1 and 2 packs) even though there are, in reality, two different "sellers". If you click back and forth on the quantity selector you'll see the "sold by" name change. Look just under the price after you switch. The seller of the 2 pack sets the price whereas the seller of the 1 pack(Amazon) sets its own price. I'm sure Amazon buys the 1 pack in very large quantities and, therefore, can get a bigger discount, per piece, than the other "seller" can get, per piece, for the 2-pack.
Question: How safe is this product in the kitchen? We have a few ants crawling around our kitchen sink and would like to place one of these bait stations on our kitchen counter. Bad idea? Thanks
Answer: This is a generally safe product according to my research. Make sure to read the packaging and follow direction. (FOR INDOOR USE READ THE FOLLOWING) One lesson I learned the hard way: the sugary syrup is irresistible to ants, even though it is laced with poison. This means when you use Tarro, you're actually providing access to free food! The poison will work on the ants and it takes about 18-24 hours to kill them... but as you wait after 24 hours, Tarro syrup will attract other thriving colonies into your home. They'll follow the same rich trails laid behind by the previous colony and even scavenge on the carcases of the previously fallen colony. This cycle will continue, attracting ants from far away reaches and allowing them to setup massive colonies within your home. This is especially true with Argentine ants (available throughout the world), which form massive colonies with multiple queens - a trait unique to this type of ant, whereas others will battle for territory. So the lesson learned is simple... once the initial 1 or 2 swarms die down, remove all baits and all forms of food from open spaces in your home; patch up all openings in walls, baseboards, cracks around windows, etc; apply perimeter pesticide around your home; and look for signs of wandering ants in the next week. If you see more ants then you missed an opening and already have an established colony in your wall.... repeat!! Just don't leave out Tarro and keep replenishing, especially in the case of Argentine ants.
Question: Is this safe to have around pets? I have a curious cat
Answer: I'd say no. My cat knocked one of these over once and licked the syrup. She was fine but it wasn't a fun afternoon (trip to the vet, etc.). Terro sells a version of this that encloses the bait in plastic and has sticky squares to attach them to the floor, counter, or other surfaces. I use those instead now.
Question: I have a baby in the house and I would like to use this product to kill ants in my house. Any precautions you suggest before I use this product
Answer: The ant trails at my house sometimes go from the floor to the ceiling. I turn the bait so that the liquid will not run out and use Scotch tape to tape it to the wall next to the ant trail. I tape the bait high enough that babies and grand children cannot get to it. It usually takes two days for the ants to disappear. Then three days after they disappear, they return to the trap. Another two days and they disappear again. The second time they disappear is usually the last time I see them at that location.

TERRO Liquid Ant Baits

Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work and everywhere in between. To kill common household ants, place TERRO Liquid Ant Baits in areas where they attract foraging ants that take the bait back to the nest. As the bait circulates through the colony, it kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t. The new and improved snap-off tab makes the stations easy to use. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the tab. This opens up the station and allows ants to access the bait. Place the entire station on a flat surface, keeping the ant bait inside the station. Plus, the closed bait stations prevent the bait from drying out to provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Note: complete control may take up to two weeks.

How Liquid Ant Bait Works

Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.

Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.

How to Use Liquid Ant Baits

TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the bait stations.

  1. Hold the bait station firmly with bait pack tab facing up. Break off the tab being careful not to spill the bait.
  2. Place the bait station label side up on a flat surface near signs of ants. Place additional bait stations anywhere they may enter your home. For best results, use all bait stations to ensure a sufficient supply for the ants.
  3. Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait stations. Replace when bait is depleted. Complete control may take up to two weeks.
  4. Once ants are controlled, replace the baits every 3 months to keep them from returning.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it kill rasberry ants? sometimes called crazy ants
Answer: It kills Barberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Boysenberry, Chokeberry, Cloudberry, Cranberry, Dewberry, Elderberry, Goji Berry, Gooseberry, Huckleberry, Juneberry, Lingonberry, Salmonberry, Strawberry and Tayberry ants but sadly not Rasberry ants.
Question: how long does each bait last? how often does it need replacing? does the liquid dry up
Answer: This worked overnight to get rid of the ants I had; no other product I have used ever worked that fast. There was still plenty of liquid left but the ants were gone so I picked the baits up. The package states that once the ants are under control to replace every three months. Based on that and based on the amount of liquid used to get rid of the ants I had, I would believe that it lasts 3 months. Hope this helps.
Question: The liquid Terro was perfect for the ants in my pantry but the ants outside seem to care less about it. Is there another product I can use on my outdo
Answer: Yes; I use Raid Ant Baits for outdoor ants. Be careful not to eradicate *all* outdoor ants as they are the #1 predator to termites.
Question: Since this trap consists of sugar water, and borax (Mule Team), couldn't this be made at home with simple supplies from the grocery store
Answer: In addition i drop line of Mule Team Borax along any crevices afterwards for long term success

Question: does the ant killer kill bedbugs
Answer: This product works! To answer your question, The instructions on the back of the package state, “Dispense a thick gel across any paths ants might use to get to your feeder. Also great for protecting other outdoor areas from ants, such as patio tables, bluebird houses, BEEHIVES & hanging plants.”
Question: i live in a apartment and have a pet and also can get evicted for this product. It comes in a seperete box other then the label right
Answer: I have kept mine for over a year & it has remained as a gel. When I kept it longer, it did get a little liquidy, but still worked. You may want to contact the company re refrigeration- www.sapphirelabs.com or Sapphire Labs, 640 Rutherford Circle, Brentwood, CA 94513. Great product!
Question: Why don't you have an English version of the ingredients so I and most other readers can understand them
Answer: This is from the Kinsman Company about the product: Nectar Fortress™ is an ant-repelling clear gel. Simply draw a line of Nectar Fortress gel across any paths ants might use to get to your feeder. Made from food-based ingredients, it repels ants, but is safe for use around children, birds, and pets. It takes less than 1/8 of a teaspoon per feeder to control ants! It is also weatherproof so one application lasts the whole season. It can be used for protecting any outdoor area from ants, such as patio tables, bluebird houses, beehives, and hanging plants. It's one line ants refuse to cross! Nectar Fortress is safe for these reasons: It is not sticky, tacky, or adhesive in any way. It does not contain petroleum products, including oil, waxes, or grease It is made entirely from food-based materials. Nectar Fortress is made almost entirely of a fatty acid, which birds naturally secrete to preen and condition their feathers. Oleic acid, also called omega-9, is one of the major fatty acids secreted from a bird's preeening gland (uropygial gland). In the unlikely event a bird were to come in contact with the product, it is part of what birds already use to condition their feathers.

Question: Can you use this to refill the Terro liquid containers when they’re empty
Answer: I’m not sure of your question. It looks like these are 12 packages of 2 oz liquid. You would not need to refill anything. I did learn to keep the paper / cardboard tabs to put the liquid on in case you need it again. The prouduct worked very well but ants came back in a different location so I needed the tabs to put the liquid on. You can really put this liquid on anything. Hope this helps . Very good prouduct .

User questions & answers

Question: How do I tell If they are empty? Unlike the indoor traps they are not clear
Answer: The trap should be replaced every 3 months.
Question: We haver grease eating ants. Is this the right product
Answer: Terro says product is for "Attracting and killing all common household ants including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants and other sweet eating ants." Terro is a sweet bait; grease eating ants are attracted to protein. They might go for Terro; however if protein sources are still to be found in your house they will probably ignore the bait. I haven't had a problem with grease eating ants, but I understand that from folks who have that the Combat formula is better for attracting grease eating ants. You can also make your own baits for grease eaters by mixing boric acid (a white powder you can find in drugs stores or hardware stores) with peanut butter. Just make sure that the bait is out of reach of kids and animals (I have used boric acid/watermelon bait successfully with sweet-eating ants. However, it can only be used indoors, as sun dries it up and rain washes it away.) Good Luck!
Question: Will this work on fire ants
Answer: Yes absolutely I had the worst ant problem I have ever seen when I moved into my new home. They moved in because of a drought in Texas. The first two days I did not see much of a difference and was about to write a bad review, but I had to go out of town, I left and when I came back the next week there were no more ants, not a single one, in fact it has been almost a year and I still haven't seen one inside or outside since. This stuff is amazing. Also my dog ate 2 of the yard baits we were worried he would get sick but he was perfectly fine that's a plus also.
Question: Will these work for carpenter ants
Answer: Carpenter ants infest every tree on my property and I found them foraging inside the garage (very bad news). Mostly for the garage, but also because I have one very nice pin oak, I placed 2 of these just inside the garage door and at the base of the tree and within 1 month no more ants. So, I guess it works on carpenter ants. However, if you use the trap per the package instructions the carpenter ants are too large to enter. What you do instead is push down and rotate as instructed to puncture the internal pouch then very carefully lift the cup back up to its original position and snap it into place. This opens the trap all the way around an the carpenter ants can enter. I intend to buy more as it works on almost every ant on my property. And that's a lot of different types of ants. You might also try Bayer Advance 375A. Its a protein based poison and if the ants don't have a sweet tooth that day they go for it. The terro traps make excellent bait stations for the 375A once the liquid is gone.

TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits

When it comes to ants, baiting should be your first choice. Try TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stations. These large bait cups can actually be used inside or outside and work to eras the entire ant colony. Sweet eating, common household ants will run to the baits and carry the bait back to the Queen of the colony. Once the Queen has received the bait, the rest of the colony dies off.

Simple to Use

These pre-filled ready-to-use bait stations convenient and easy to install around your home or yard where ants have been observed. Stakes are included to secure the stations on various surfaces, including grass or gravel. Use without the stakes indoors in the home, basement, or garage as well!

What Type of Ants?

Luckily, most ants are sweet eating and love out bait. Our TERRO Liquid Ant Bait works with all common household ants including: Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants, crazy ants, big headed ants and other sweet eating ants.

How it Works

When it comes to ants, always try to start with baiting. Unlike contact killers, which only target visible worker ants on your property, these baits include slow-acting ingredients that have a delayed effect on the ant's digestive system. This allows ants to feed and return to the colony where they can spread the bait to the young and queen. During this time, the number of ants may increase as they swarm to feed on the sweetened liquid before they begin disappearing altogether.

  • 9 Bait Stations Per Pack – Spread bait stations over a large area for maximum effectiveness. Ants will seek out the sweet liquid bait and bring it back to the colony
  • Kills All Common Household Ants – Harris bait is intended for sweet eating ants, or sugar ants. These include Acrobat ants, Argentine ants, Little black ants, Pavement ants, and many others
  • Contains Borax – Borax, a naturally occurring mineral powder, is the active ingredient
  • EPA Registered – Registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA No. 64405-23-3) for indoor and outdoor use
  • Kills the Queen and the Colony – Because borax works slowly to kill, it allows the worker ant time to get back to the colony to share the bait with other ants

User questions & answers

Question: What is the % of Borax
Answer: 5.4% is listed as....Sodium Tetraborate Decahydrate (Borax) The stuff works really good. First bait an area( I use about 1 sq. ft. tinfoil) then when a good trail is established take away the bait....something sweet, or small piece luncheon meat etc) and put down some drops of Ant Killer. The ants rush to it....keep feeding it to them....putting down more drops....as long as they're coming. They'll take it "home to mama" and that will be the end of that colony. I wiped out three colonies in the past week. I should be good for a year now. I use this indoors and have pest control company spray around the house and yard.
Question: Does this kill fire ants
Answer: Hello, Thank you for your question. This product is not effective for fire ants. It works well with common ants that invade homes that are attracted to sweets. Best, John
Question: This won't kill spiders, will it
Answer: It’s not targeted towards spiders. It works great for ants. I did have 1 spider dead on the tinfoil I had the product on. But it doesn’t attract them. It will kill them if they are unfortunate enough to get in it.
Question: This product has worked well for me (on day 2), but question: has anyone had their bait traps disappear? 2 out of the 3 trays are gone! mouse? ants
Answer: I never had that happen

User questions & answers

Question: So is this mainly a repellent, poison, or both? And how long does it last till the next application
Answer: Description states ideal for indoor and outdoor use. Use it in kitchen, but not on counter/food prep area
Question: what color is this? White powder? How big are the granules? Similar to Sugar in the Raw
Answer: If you putting it into cracks or holes that ants are entering house from yes. Don't just spray around in open areas, there are other products for that. This is like a gel that fills holes and cracks and it stays there to keep killing.
Question: Is it harmful to outdoor pets
Answer: I would use this foam and the spray and the powder just to be on the safe side. I find the spray works well on trees and foam works well into holes and cracks. That said I have not used this on termites only ants and carpenter ants
Question: Why does the label say this doesn't work for fire ants even though some reviewers have said they worked on fire ants
Answer: If you find the source. My understanding Carpenter ants spread their colony with the flying ants. Find the source or nest where the queen is and spray foam into holes or cracks and regular spray ants on their backs so they carry into the nest and powder in a circle around the whole colony the nest will possibly collapse

TERRO Perimeter Ant Bait Plus

Prevent ants from coming inside by stopping them outside with our TERRO Perimeter Ant Bait Plus Granular! At TERRO we value baiting ants as it is ideally the best way to remove the entire colony vs. just a few ants. This granular bait can be applied around the home for perimeter protection against a large variety of ants. Get protection for up to 4 weeks with this long-lasting product.

Best Used For

This product is best used outside, around the perimeter of the home, on ant hills, and as a general large application in the yard.

Not Just for Ants

While this is most commonly used with ants, this bait can also kill other outdoor pests including cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, silverfish, slugs, and snails.

Weather-Resistant Granules

Since we know re-applying can be a pain, we ensured this formula is long-lasting with protection up to 4 weeks! These weather-resistant granules can withstand rain and keep baiting ants all over the yard.

Easy to Use Shaker

No need for a spreader with this easy-to-use shaker canister. Simply open the shaker canister and sprinkle granules in a 2-4 foot band around the home.

Why Baiting?

Where there is one ant, there are many. Ants share food with their entire colony, ensuring everyone gets a little bite. The active ingredient ultimately kills the primary worker ant after it eats it, but it works slowly enough that it gives time for the first ant to go back to the colony and share the bait. By baiting you can kill the entire colony vs. just the few ants you see.

Why is Bait Better?

Bait is considered one of the most effective methods for killing ants. Bait works even when you can't find the nest and unlike contact pesticides, bait can wipe out the entire colony by destroying the queen.

Bait is designed to taste like food, so it is enticing to ants. Once worker ants find the bait, they bring it back to be shared with the queen and the rest of the colony. Once the queen and other ants eat it, the whole mound dies.

As a means to ensure that the bait is shared with all the ants in the colony, there is a delayed reaction before the bait begins to take its full effect and kill all the ants in the colony. Therefore, bait is considered to be more effective than contact killers since bait is shared with the entire colony, while contact killers will only kill ants that come into contact with the product.

With AMDRO, it's game over for ants.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Ant Bait take to work?

The active ingredient in AMDRO works with delayed action, ensuring worker ants have time to share the bait with the colony. Typically, the bait will begin to kill the queen within one week of application and will kill the colony within two weeks of application.

What is the best way to treat for ants I found inside my home?

If there are ants already inside your home, we recommend doing two things. First, use one of the AMDRO Kills Ants products listed for indoor usage above to kill the ants that are already inside. Second, apply AMDRO Ant Block Home Perimeter Ant Bait granules around the outside of your home to prevent ants from getting inside.

Do I have to reapply granules if it rained after being put down?

For best results, we recommend not applying the product when the ground is soaking wet or when heavy rains are expected.

User questions & answers

Question: Ants are swarming the tray and behaving very erratically (like on speed) is this normal
Answer: No one wants to go to the store now, home delivery in 1-2 days is worth the price. But also I have looked and have been unable to find these near me. I was forced to go online to get them.
Question: Do you rinse out the trays to reuse them
Answer: This liquid ant bait is contained in a rugged, weatherproof stake casing, which protects against the elements. The product will keep working after a rain. It is important that the bait be placed in an area that is not prone to flooding.
Question: Does this work on red fire ants? The tiny ones
Answer: Bought this product in June 2019. Here's the definitive and unequivocal answer: YES, they are indeed refillable. And I will tell you how . . . As of my purchase, the green "housing" can be snapped open to remove or replace the cartridge. Even if the manufacturer eventually seals the green housing, or doesn't offer replacement cartridge inserts, one can still re-use both the green unit AND the interior transparent cartridge- - - thereby saving money and avoiding getting poked in the eye one day by the plastic spike, while you're attempting to enjoy what was once a plastic-free surf at the beach. Step 1: Either snap open the door of the housing to remove the spent cartridge or, alternatively - if you'd rather not chance weakening the latch of the housing and structural integrity of the product leave the cartridge in the housing. Step 2: Use a pipette or syringe or squirt gun or slender turkey baster or even just a thin stream of water from your faucet to fill the cartridge through the little "ant-hole" or entryway. Step 3: Shake the unit to better loosen and dissolve spent contents. Step 4: Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you can either see the cartridge is clear and clean, or than nothing is being ejected from the tiny ant-hole anymore as you shake/fling the rinse-water out. Step 5: Shake dry. Don't fret about the interior needing to be "bone-dry" before refilling with Terro's killer liquid. For starters, Terro's killer liquid contains water they don't call it the 'universal solvent' for nothing. Secondly, the cartridge has only one aperture/hole - so there isn't a lot of air flow and waiting for water to air dry in the stuffy/highly humid cartridge risks mold contamination {which ants will detect and steer clear of}. Yes - - - boric acid is also a mold inhibitor - - - but you're spending money to kill ants. Step 6: TIME for the REFILL yay!!: Go buy the Terro T200 2 oz. product. Or larger if you can find it. These bottles contain the same "syrup of death" that came with these Green-spiked traps. Also, the refill bottles have a tiny hole - smaller than the "ant-hole" on the actual cartridge - - - so refilling can be done directly from the T200 bottle. Simply squirt or drip-fill that cartridge. And don't worry if you overfill and some runs down the side: ants will still eat and die, and follow that syrupy trail of death to the mother load awaiting them in your newly-refilled cartridge. You just saved some money. And kept at least one piece of plastic out of the ocean. Win-win.
Question: how long before ants stop coming
Answer: I put them approx 8 to 10 feet apart around the perimeter of my entire house. After 1 to 2 days never saw another ant. There could posibly be instructions as to placement but I apparently did not bother to even look. Good Question. I will look on package next time if or when I need them again.

Terro T300 T300-3 Killer Liquid Ant Baits (3 Pack), 3-Pack

Terro

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Attract and kill the ants you see and the ones you don’t with TERRO Liquid Ant Baits. For your convenience, TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are easy to use and feature a new and improved snap-off tab design – no scissors needed! To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. Then place indoors on a flat surface near ant trails and other signs of ant activity. The more bait placements, the better. Be sure to leave the ant baits undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it.

  • Kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t
  • Ready to use – set the bait, attract ants, and kill the colony
  • Stay-fresh tab keeps liquid bait fresh until opened
  • Snap-off design makes it easy to open – no scissors needed
  • Use bait stations along baseboard, under appliances, on windowsills and wherever ants are numerous

User questions & answers

Question: would it work on sugar ants
Answer: Yes, they work very well for millipedes. Unhappily, I have had a lot of the beasts in my basement over the years and I discovered that the Terro traps catch a disgusting collection of all insects, including millipedes.
Question: Why do these things always overflow? i cut them properly, carefully place them on level surface+they overflow within a few hours
Answer: If you are asking if the Terro can be used in the house - yes they can. They use boric acid to kill off the ants. The boric acid will not harm pets or people and they can also be placed in hidden areas to keep them out of reach of toddlers, etc. Once the ants find them, they will take the boric acid back to their nest where it will kill them off. It may take a couple of these to clear them out, depending on how big the nest is.
Question: If I have old unopened traps, how long are they good for
Answer: You snap each trap off from the rest of the set but must cut into each one to release the bait.
Question: Can you use these with cats in the house - won't they find the liquid
Answer: They have a new twist off packaging and the ants can't any longer get into to drink the elixir!
