Answer:	I've used this I don't know how many times and the handle doesn't look like moving at all. My border collie has a long rough coat and it goes through it well with no problems. My dog is a bit of a nuisance with brushing but that has nothing to do with this rake. I think it would probably do a good job on any and all dogs.

Answer:	It does not cut the hair, it sheds the undercoat and dander. It does have a thinning affect and painlessly removes most knots. My dogs race over to me when they see the shedmonster in my hand... One combing and they are addicted to it. I have a fine tooth sheding brush but is not as good in my opinion.

Question:	I've used a similar product when we had a husky. Will this work on a matted pomeranian or is it too harsh
Answer:	Hi. I used this on my Akita and her fur length is about 2-3 inches. She doesn’t have matted hair but I do know that the teeth on the de shedding tool are pretty shallow, maybe 1/4 inch. If the hair is matted it may glide over or snag. So perhaps trim the matted areas first and then use the loop. The loop itself automagically and painlessly lifts loose hair and fur and my dog seems to think it is spa time. She lays back and practically falls asleep. I would highly recommend this product. For me it was a life saver from having to clean up tumbleweeds of dog fur everywhere! I love it so much I bought 3 - 1 as a trial purchase and 2 more to gift to friends! Good luck :)

Question:	I have a mane coon with long hair and has got matted will this work
Answer:	If you mean to clean the "house" portion with the front and side doors, NO. I put one of those K-Y heating pads in, but it was a bit of a struggle, and had to run the electric cord out thru the side door. The cat I got it for never went inside all winter, so I removed the pad. She goes up the stairs, or over the door canopy to the area under the top roof, which is where I feed her. Unless you have someone who can make the side or back swing open, you really can only clean by sticking your hand through the cat doors.

Answer:	We have golden retriever, works really good, cleans undercoat, thins & trims long hairs Start with 9 sided comb then other side, enjoy

Answer:	I prefer to use a comb with tines much closer together for the daily grooming of my cats and use this tool when mats are present.
Question:	Is the groomer specific for long furry animals? Is it as efficient on animals with a short fur length
Answer:	I have three cats. One is long haired, one is short haired, and one is VERY short haired. For the long-haired cat, this works well. My short-haired cats, it works less well, but did do a decent job at getting some mats out of the standard short haired cat. The very short haired cat, this doesn't do much for, it's more productive just to brush her.
Question:	How does this compare to a furminator
Answer:	The furminator has tines that are really close together. My dogs did not like it because it pulls their thick hair. This product has one side where the teeth are pretty far apart. Use this side first until you get a lot of the loose hair off or until your dog gets used to it. Then turn it over and use the side with the teeth closer together to finish removing the loose hair. My dogs enjoy this product, they would not tolerate the furminator.
