Answer:	There are two hold right by the base of the entrance, but I have yet to figure out what kind of flap can be used for it. My thinking is that the holes are there for a flap door of some type but the manufacturer of this product has yet to market it. The overhanging roof gives good coverage, but the side walls and back wall have air vents, so it might be possible for rain to blow inside The door opening is a generous height, so again, if wind is involved with rain, some will come in through the door opening. During the winter months, I take a big old quilt and put it into an oversized plastic bag. Then I secure the bag with duct tape across the roof and let if drape down the sides of the house, again using tape to secure the bottom of the bag under the house. I keep a couple of old towels handy to use on the inside and if they get wet, I just swap them out for dry ones.

Answer:	Do not buy this it is absolutely garbage. We have a lab/retriever mix and it totally fell apart. The hinges bent and broke the wood off the roof the trim fell apart the bottom of the assembled house doesn’t fit well so air flows in through the bottom making it cold. Very disappointed in the quality of the wood you can definitely buy better lumber for less from Home Depot and build a nice solid dog house.

Answer:	The house is nice and we used it for a cat too. But we wrapped the inside with plastic and a type of insulation that is kind of like drywall. The walls is are not air tight and would let drafts and such in. Jerry is a male diva too.
Question:	Do you have to assemble
Answer:	I am about to purchase this to replace a cedar dog house that has survived for 15 years. I also have a cedar shed of about the same age. I weather-proofed it by applying a wood stain, which I'd recommend over sealing the wood because cedar is a great flea and tick repellent. I'd say go to Lowe's or Home Depot and ask in the paint department for a recommendation on what to use with cedar. Whatever you use, it should be renewed every few years to maintain efficiency.

Answer:	Yes, I painted it with my outside door paint that I already had. The wood is barely stained, and does not have a sealer on it, so there was no problem getting the dog house to soak up the paint. It really needs a coat of outside paint to keep it from deteriorating over time.
