Answer:	Assuming your not actually bouncing along the cliffs of mountains, the Snoozer Sporty Bike Basket may be a better fit. I use it on my mountain Bike and it holds dog up to 15 lbs, and easy goes on and off to be used as a carrier, or for times when your not biking with dog. Also, a little wider which may be comfortable with Dachshund. While secure, it can wobble a little during sharp turns and bumps which is why I made comment about not riding on rough mountain terrain. It is also not padded, so may want to add a folded up towel, or pillow for added comfort. Has a removable rain hood.

Question:	Is it stable enough after installation
Answer:	I believe so, if you stay within the intended weight limit. I have a thirteen pound Yorkie who loves to ride in it. He is at the limit on weight. When I first installed it, the basket would tend rotate on the handlebar. When it did this the bottom would rub on the front tire. I had to really tighten it down hard to avoid this. Otherwise, no issues at all.

Answer:	I don’t know why it would not fit a medium kids bike. We have ours on a full size adult bike and our puppy loves the ride. Easy clip on and take off basket it perfect for our needs.

Answer:	No. This basket is for a full size adult bike and is too large to fit on a 16" kids bike.
Question:	What is the weight carrying capacity
Answer:	It's very sturdy. I don't know the exact weight capacity, but my wife has transported a gallon of milk, several canned goods and some other assorted things in it. I don't think you'd have much of a problem unless you were putting in excess of maybe 20 pounds.

Answer:	Yes it would. My bike is a 26”, but our handle bars are pretty much the same size. For assembly, there are (rubber) spacers to help fit the bracket on any handlebar. I love the basket, my dog loves it too. I think you’ll be happy with it. FYI: aluminum frame is lightweight... don’t let your bike tip over with basket on... it could possibly damage the frame if it hits hard.

Question:	Will it fit on a trek marlin 5 mountain bike
Answer:	I'm going to say no because of the front suspension fork diminutions. You need space between the bottom of the dog carrier and the tire. I can see that bump thing going over the tire which secures the front suspension forks hitting the basket. Also it doesn't look like there would be enough room to secure the top of the basket between the gear shifters unless you moved the sifters. you have a nice bike for sure!
Question:	Hard to see the picture. Does it zip all around so that the dog can't jump out
Answer:	No. There is a tether strap to clip to your dogs collar. It is adjustable to give your dog little or more room as needed. Your dog will not be able to get out if you use this.
