Answer:	Since most air rifles will not fire pellets fast enough to cause mushroom/expansion it comes down to shot placement and distance. At less than 20 yards crosman predator pellets seem to work best in my break barrel rifles on squirrels. 20-40 yards it is a tossup among several heavier pellets...pointed, round nose and hollow point. For the price these Winchester pellets are hard to beat!

Answer:	Yes. And they are not meant to be replaceable, because being replaceable usually means there would be a chance of it falling out of the toy and the cat could eat it. But for me the battery lasted pretty long anyway, you’ll notice when the battery is wearing out when the squeak sound becomes weird. The plastic tab is meant to isolate the battery from draining before a mouse is in use, so only remove right before giving it to the cat.
