Answer:	You need to take the unit apart and adjust the two metal contacts underneath the spinning disk that has the laser attached. They need to make contact with the metal underneath the disk to power the laser. I squeezed the unit with one hand and used a small flat head screwdriver in the other to separate the outer case to get access to the inside. Then had to remove a little bit of solder to adjust the metal contact thingies.
