Answer:	Yes. I am using it in a sliding window. The directions are pretty bad and it's a pain to install. The directions tell you to measure so it's installed in the middle of the opening but I had to take it out and then reinstall it tight to the wall side of the window frame. When the base is full, simply take off the cap and empty the content into a trash can.
