Answer:	I bought it for my long haired cats but have used it on my lab. She’s not fond of being combed or brushed but tolerated this comb. It’s teeth are rounded so won’t scratch, has comfortable handle. I think you could use it on your little dog.

Answer:	I have only used this product for combing my cat's hair. He has never had matted hair, so am not sure if it can be used on badly matted hair. Might have to cut the severe mats then use comb gently on the remaining, less severely matted hair. You might consider searching Amazon for a cat dematting tool as it appears the teeth are longer on that type of apparatus. They also have sprays to use. Best of luck in getting your cat dematted.

Answer:	I don't know if I can tell you that it's "the best", but it does work well with my Ragdoll when used on a regular basis. Regular basis meaning once a week. It's the last comb I purchased for my cat and I think it does the job.

Answer:	We wash our by hand, but it looks sturdy enough for the dishwasher. I would put it on the top shelf for sure, just to be safe. It's a terrific spatula, we are very happy with it, nice and sturdy with a nice long handle, and large enough for flipping a big burger!

Answer:	Yes, It will work on any short hair . Not sure why they only market it for cats it works on dogs, rabbits and I use it on one of my cats that has longer hair.
