Answer:	I don't know about bowls, but dry food is good with my cat for two weeks, without washing. Water I don't use since cats don't usually drink where they eat. My cat drinks whatever he gets outside. Hope this helps.
Question:	Is there a recommended cat food to use with this that helps with the gravity issue? I have this feeder and its great but the food doesnt dispense automatically. I have to shake it for the food to come down
Answer:	I don't know of any other cat food dispenser. However, we filled this dispenser with chockful of cat food pellets because we were going on vacation. We left this outdoor in the patio because we have an outdoor cat. This was a big mistake. All of the animals in the neighbourhood devoured it within the same day. They toppled the dispenser and was able to shake out every last bit of food. My poor cat had to fend for itself while we were away. We are now back to giving the pet daily portions.
Question:	i read a review that said you had to push the spring to get it to fill up the bowl? is this correct? i wanted something that was automatic
Answer:	There's no need to "push the spring" on this canister if there is water in the plastic canister. The bowl should fill up automatically and will stop filling once the stainless steel container is full of water. Once the plastic canister is full of water, check the black lid to be sure the O-ring is in place and the lid is secured correctly on the canister before tipping it over to let water flow into the bowl. We love this water station and have had no issues with it whatsoever. It fills perfectly. I also love the fact that I can thoroughly clean the stainless steel bowl in between fills as my dog can get it pretty dirty, and the canister itself is easy to fill.
Question:	Can you tell the water level by looking at it? It appears to be solid but is it opaque
Answer:	Yes you can tell the water level. Just look at it. Maybe if the lighting is super poor or you need your eyes checked you can't, but I can see how much water and food is left in mine.

Answer:	For a large breed, I would suggest the large size. I have a Yorkie of less than 10 lbs. The small size I chose for him is just right. It holds his 1/4 cup of dry food mixed with 1 tbs of wet food without it being pushed to the floor or the other side water dish when he eats.

Answer:	Hello! Yes, this would work for wet food too. To give you perspective of how great this bowl is, my dog went from 52 seconds to 4 minutes 48 seconds. I don't usually give wet food but when I tried it with wet food, it takes even longer. Buy it, it's worth it.
Question:	Do different colors/styles increase the "difficulty"? My dog needs something the will separate the food the most
Answer:	I have 3 dogs of various breeds, 2 of whom are speed-eaters. The orange bowl - my favorite- slows them down the most, every time (we switch up). Using a standard bowl by comparison, My Australian shepherd’s chow time went from 40 seconds to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. But the 3 different colors (orange, purple, teal) do not stack well. Had I known I’d have gotten 3 orange both for decreasing their tempo & for lugging around on the road. I assume they’d nest then?I drop them every time while stacking three diff colors. Had these a year or two & they’re holding up well.

Answer:	No timer. When dogs are full, they stop eating and only eat when they are hungry. Thus, no issues with food aggression with their sibling dogs, and it makes for a great feeder when you are out of town for the weekend.

Answer:	The bowl is large enough to feed any sized dog. I would approximate it to be 3-4 inches deep and about 8-10 inches in diameter.
Question:	is this tall enough for a large malamute
Answer:	My dog is about 115 pounds and stands about 2.5 ft from head to floor. He does have to lean forward to eat from this. I am not too familiar with a malamute but I think you would need a slightly taller unit. It is a sturdy unit and I know it works well for us. I hope this helps.

Answer:	It's 20" in length, 11" wide and adjusts at 3", 8", & 12". The inside near the bowls is about 6" deep from the closest part of the bowls so it catches all the slurpy water & random food. Actually, I often put mine in the dishwasher; top only, the legs don't fit. It's a great feeder as the legs snap easily at any height. We have 2, have had no problems at all. We do use a mat u underneath. Our boys seem to walk away with water dripping from their mouths. Hope this helps!

Question:	Any advice on making the food slide down without having to shake it
Answer:	I don't do anything. My cat "paws" at it, just a little, then more food comes down. If I keep the bowl full by helping her she overeats.

Answer:	Not it will still work until it is at the very end
Question:	How do you fill this feeder? Do you need to take the bottle part out or fill it from the top
Answer:	From the top, just removing the lid.
Question:	how thick is the back part where you put food? How far out from the wall is this part without the bowl
Answer:	It's a very sturdy plastic material. I can put a full 10lb bag of food in it & it holds well. I do have to shake it when my cats eat the food in the bowl part bc it gets wedged in the hole but not to the point where the food won't come out. The bowl is a good 6" circumference so it's big enough for both my cats to eat at the same time. It's easy to take apart & clean too. Definitely a good buy if you feed your pet freely. I work crazy hours so it's nice I can fill it for a week or two without worrying abt them not eating. Hope this helps!

Question:	how often does the food bowl refill
Answer:	As the cats eat, the food just comes down. Sometimes I have to shake it a little so the food comes down. Works ok but I had to stop using it because I have one cat that is on a diet so she can’t have access to food all the time. I also have an automatic feeder where you can set the times for food to come out and I like that better.
Question:	Where is the pet mat? Was not included in the delivery. How do we receive the mat
Answer:	Mine included a mat. Not sure why yours didn’t

Question:	How many cups of liquid do the bowls hold
Answer:	Holds one & a quarter cups liquid.
Question:	can 2 cats eat at this together
Answer:	I have a 17 lb Russian Blue and a 14lb American Short hair. They share this as I free feed them. One side water and one side food. I refill every morning and occasionally they let me know to give them a little more at night. If we leave overnight I put food in both as they also have a fresh water fountain....yes they are spoiled and I wish I had found this sooner...it is so easy to take care of and it really minimises cleanup, the Russian Blue is a messy eater!! I plan on getting one for my husky as soon as his new brother grows enough to eat out of the big dog bowl....mainly because it is so easy to clean and I am hoping it will minimise the mess the dogs sometimes make.
Question:	is this dishwasher safe
Answer:	The metal bowls are, but I have only hand washed the plastic parts. I checked the bottom of the plastic parts and there is no dishwasher safe icon. The only marking is the #5 recycling arrows.
