Answer:	I have three cats, and each loves their own K&H bed. My tip is to line the bed with a terrycloth bath towel (laundered without fabric softener for best results). Fasten the towel to the top of the bed with a couple of safety pins. The cats love warm towels, and the towels collect dirt, dander and fur. Remove and launder the towels as needed. This is a great way to collect the crud and keep the cat clean and happy, and extends the life of the bed, which won't need laundering.
Question:	How long is the electrical cord for this item
Answer:	Without packaging, give or take, 150 grams. It comes in a rectangular cardboard box, with bubble wrap which probably puts the combined weight around 250 grams.

Answer:	Yes, the bed is flexible. Unless the doorway is very small you probably can get it to fit - you may need to let a little air out first.

Answer:	Hi Debbie. The answer is yes. Mine has been plugged in for 3 years now and I did not see any appreciable increase in my electric bill the first few months I used it. (I have an extra on stand-by when this one finally gives out) Also, when the pet is not on the mat the temperature decreases to very low only to be increased to 102 or so degrees with the pressure of the pet when it returns. This is the best and my outside kitties have spent many freezing nights in their warm box with the mat on which to sleep. Initially these were feral cats which allowed me to care for them from a safe distance. Loved the opportunity to domesticate them. And I also had a mat for my inside kitty as well who loved her bed just as much as the outside critters. I think this was the best purchase I've made for a pet. Wish I'd known about it when my other kitties were still alive. I'm sure a pup would appreciate this mat as well as any older animal. Can't praise this product enough!

Answer:	I've had these for 2 years. They heat constantly, but it's pretty subtle unless you compress the insulation. I think they heat to roughly 104°F, so it's mild compared to a medical heating pad. My old housecat has definitely figured out that it's warm, though.

Answer:	I still have the first bed that I bought in 2008. I now have 8 for my 6 animals because I love them so much. You would be better off buying a new bed. I lent my son one of the small beds and when he returned it, he didn't return the heating unit and now he can't find it. I contacted the company about a replacement and they have them. The unit cost almost the same amount as the bed!

Question:	This vs. The triangular Shaped house/Tent looking house? Which provides more heat during the winter days and nights
Answer:	The Heated K&H Outdoor Kitty House would be the more sturdy of the two and provide sufficient heat. It has an excellent thick heating pad you put inside which is very cushionyyy. I took off the plastic on both sides since the movement of the plastic seemed to scare the feral cats away. Heating pad is warm for them and works with the heat of their own bodies. Keep this out of the rain and wind. Garage would be perfect if for a feral cat, otherwise place it where it wont get wet and battered by wind and where dogs cant get to the cats. I bought this for our feral cat we have had since a kitten when her mother put her up on our wall and left her there. We took her in and kept her in our garage and she has always remained very warm, and that was 2 years ago. She roams the neighborhood but always comes back at night for food and her house.

Answer:	I have two of these houses plus a home made one in the front of my house under my eaves...Unfortunately, I don't have an outdoor plug nearby so I bought a heavy duty outdoor extension plug with a three plug coupler and plugged the three in, ran the extension cord under the eaves of my house up off the ground and into my garage...plug connections are covered to avoid getting wet and this is the third year I've used them without incident

Answer:	This is very late, I realize since the question was asked 4 years + ago, but I just have to add - if you have senior cats and it gets cold where you live? Please bring them inside. *Before anyone yells at me, I do know that some kitties refuse to come in a house. I have cared for feral cats and cats that are fully socialized with humans & I know they each have a unique personality complete with "quirks" - in which case this house could be awesome! We always just have a box with a towel and sometimes a heating pad with a timer for the ones who won't come in. But if at all possible,bring those kitties in :)

The power these use are so minimal, they’re not much different than running 4-5 LED lights. No extra money at all. I am retired, now. Question:	Any advice on how to clean the foam support? I don't think these can be washed in the machine
Answer:	The temperature of this bed is absolutely perfect for a cat. You don't want what feels warm to you, you want what feels comfortable for the cat. Our house is up in the mountains and the house is not insulated. It is around 60 degrees Fahrenheit inside the house, and very cold outside. This bed is the correct temperature for the cat during the winter, and she will stay in that bed and be comfortable. When it warms up in spring and summer, 60s-70s-80s, she will not sleep in the bed, she'll sleep on her fuzzy bathmat, not the cat bed.

Answer:	It should. But the opening of the bed will be jammed against the side of the crate, so your dog will have to step over the lip of the bed. I don't think an oval bed was meant to go inside a crate. If you're looking to put this in a crate, you might want to consider getting a rectangular one instead. Answer:	I would think so as the control comes unattached to the pad and you have to plug it in to the pad. I love mine!!!!
Question:	Preheat? if i set my controller to 5, what is the difference between preheat vs simply turning the pad on? what does preheat actually do
Answer:	Preheat warms faster and stays on for an hour I think and then goes to whatever temperature you set it at after that. I preheat mine just before bed and then the sheets are warm, I turn it down once I actually get into bed.

Question:	How much electricity does this consume
Answer:	You may be able to do so, but, there are two fat wire connectors which protrude off each side and which may prevent the sheet from fitting well (see the photo in my review). The manufacturers do their best to minimize showing the connectors in the display photos.
Question:	How long is the warranty
Answer:	I don't recommend machine washing the foam. I took the bed apart and washed the fabric in the machine and let it air dry. If the foam really needs washing, you could try using a wet cloth or try immersing it in soapy water and gently squeeze it a few times. Then do the same with clear water to rinse it, and air dry.
Question:	Will this product fit a deeper mattress
Answer:	There is a zipper on the actual pillow of this product. You would need to pull the pillow out from the inside of the bed to see it and then you will easily be able to remove the Pet Bed Warmer on the inside.
Question:	Can u put a sheet over it
Answer:	I do not know the size, volts anyway, but it is a flat pad that sits under the cushion padding. I have two bald cats that use them and they love them. Always keeps them snug , we have two of them.

This heated mattress is equipped with a overheating against protection system. This sensor technology prevents the entire surface of the heated mattress from overheating by automatically switching off the mattress in the event of a fault. If the safety system has switched off the heated underblanket, the temperature setting is not illuminated any more even when the heated mattress is switched on.

Answer:	I used 3 of these for my outside dogs in the winter in their Dog Houses.I have a timer on them to come on after 6pm till 9am.I don't think they are pressure senitive.They love them.

Answer:	yep... my poor ol kitty only weighs 8 pounds and he finds it plenty warm.. turns out you can put a pillow on top and it will warm up. so basically its the "closeness" of the cover that causes it to be warmer not the pressure of the animal.

Answer:	No, the K&H Original Lectro-Kennel Outdoor Heated Pad is an electrical product that needs to be plugged into a normal 110v outlet.
Question:	Would a ferret be heavy enough (at 1-2 lbs.) to activate the heater
Answer:	No, it should not be covered with anything other than the K&H cover. Even a blanket is not recommended. I do not think the heat will go through a dog house. However, if you mean inside the dog house that is perfectly acceptable. It should never be submerged in water so the inside of the dog house should be dry at all times.
Question:	Our old kitty weighs under 10 pounds - will he be heavy enough to activate it
Answer:	All of our Lectro Kennel pads are plugged into outdoor, heavy duty, cold-weather rated, extension cords and have been for 2+ years. The connections need protection from the the weather. This size pad is only 40 watts, it doesn't concern me at all using a 50 foot extension cord.

Answer:	My cat is large, should weigh 12 lbs. but is 15 and on a diet. He's a long and tall orange male anyway. I just got the larger size for him because he was spilling over the sides of the round one. He loves it, and if you had two cats who sleep together, it would also work well for that.

Answer:	The heated pad is about 14" x 18". The heat pad can be easily removed from the fleece cover. Also, I felt the encircling roll of fleece was a bit too confining for my large Maine Coon cat. I found the seam on the roll and as able to reach in and remove the stuffing from about half the roll. Now he has a place to rest his head and is still able to spread out.
