| Answer: | It is fairly big to be honest. I have a teddy bear hamster and he used it occasionally but rarely went inside of the hole. He usually just stood on top and played with the bedding on the bottom half. It actually became a little bit of a toilet for him lol which worked well when he had no other toys. I modified a tall bird cage for my hamster to stay in. That being said, once I got other accessories for the cage such as a swinging hammock a wheel and a treehouse house, the Tower no longer fit in the cage. The ladder is nice and we still use that though. He likes to chew on it and climb occasionally. If you have a lot of accessories already in your cage or a smaller cage it will take up a good portion of it. |

| Answer: | Hello. The hole in the top is pretty big. I'm guessing (because I don't have a tape measure) that it's about 3 1/2 to 4 inches diameter. I can fit my entire hand in it. The hole in the bottom is wider but not as tall. It's like 4 inches wide by 2 inches tall. I got this for my Syrian hamster. It would be really big for a dwarf (not that that would be an issue) but I believe that this product is suitable for all size of hamster. My hamster being on the larger size of Syrians. | Answer: | It's more for hamsters. I was never actually able to use with my long haired Syrian hamster which is comparable to a rat but it's more for them to burrow inside and make tunnels. I personally don't know if a rats natural instincts include burrowing or not but there is no reason why he wouldnt enjoy it. He might like to chew on the wood. But regardless what animal you have I would recommend it to anyone. And the little ladder it comes with is just so adorable |

But if you are worried about it falling apart due to it being outside then I have found that after you put it together if you spray it with an entire can of water proofing that they hold beautifully in the elements! We have had ours for 4 years and it still looks beautiful! |

| Answer: | It would be way too small for chickens. There really isn't a door to allow the chickens proper access and there are no nest boxes. I have 4 hens and a rooster. They are free range during the day, and come in to roost only at night, but they are in a much bigger space than this run provides. This run works very well for tortoises and bunnies, however! |
