The APCP-1700 has a wide base design for needed stability. Intermittent Liquid Temperature is up to 120 degree F. Little Giant APCP-1700 is ideal for removing water from all types of pool covers. The 1700 GPH performance was obtained through a 1 in. I.D. tube, with friction losses neglected. Using a 3/4 in. garden hose 50 foot long reduces this performance to approximately 500 gallons per hour due to friction losses in the hose. If your area frequently has heavy rain falls, (1 in. - 2 in. per hour), it may be necessary to use 1 in. tubing. This should be available in most pool supply stores.

Answer:	That is a great idea. I've got a leaky 26' skiff that may be a candidate for an aux. pump, if it will fit through the hatch opening into my bilge. The wide base may be a problem but it's perfect for a pool cover.

Answer:	I have a large tree near my pool and leaves frequently fall onto the cover. Clogging has not been a problem for me. It wont suck them up into the hose but they seem to collect around the bottom of the pump.

The WAPC250 is an automatic on/off water removal pool cover pump. Max. Flow rate is 3000 gallons per hour using 1-1/4" drain hose. Includes: check-valve with 3/4" garden hose adapter to reduce repetitive cycling, 25 foot power cord (always plug into a gfci outlet), 25 foot "pull to shore" rope included to help position the pump on the pool cover. When temperatures drop below freezing remove pump from service and store indoors to protect pump from damage due to ice. The pump has a unique protection circuit to protect the motor from a locked impeller condition possibly caused by debris buildup or from a frozen impeller situation caused by ice formation. When the pump is activated and a locked impeller condition is detected the unit will automatically shutdown to protect the motor from overheating. Answer:	This pump starts to pump water at 2 1/8 inches of water, not good when the temperature is below freezing. if there is 2 inches of FROZEN ICE SURROUNDING THE PUMP , it wont pump any water because the pump is encased in surrounding ICE. This pump is designed to protect itself and not your pool cover.
Question:	I have a plastic liner and then the mesh cover. So, do I put the pump on top of the mesh cover in the middle
Answer:	I have a concrete pool and a mesh cover suspended in air above the pool water. I place this pump below the cover on one of the pool steps to keep the water level from rising all winter. I used to use it on top of a solid cover to keep rain water from building up on the cover.
Question:	Is the pump fully submersible
Answer:	Until two days ago my pump wasn't only completely underwater but it was completely under a foot of hard frozen snow and ice. Now I did unplug the pump knowing that a hard freeze was coming and also had to wait until the temps got above freezing in order for the snow and ice to thaw. But yesterday I plugged it back in and it still worked like a champ!

Question:	What's the PSI or max head (pumping vertical height) of this pump
Answer:	A quick Google search of "Superior Pump 91250" yields the manufacturers specs. I do not see PSI listed but "Pumps will lift water up to 25' of vertical height" I belive answers your question...there is a chart on the "Performance" tab that shows 30 GPM at 0' lift and 2 GPM at 25' lift...with flow rates every 5' listed.http://superiorpump.com/products/utility/91250.html
Question:	Does it have an automatic shut off
Answer:	The pump does not have an automatic shut off. I added a float switch because I wanted it to pump out a sink that had a slow-running clogged drain where I had the washing machine. When the sink was mostly pumped out the float switch turned off the pump. It worked great for a couple years until I got around to dealing with snaking the drain which didn't have an easy clean-out. This is a good pump, since the sink drain got taken care of, we've been using the pump to pump koi pond water over a 5' fence to our neighbor's garden using about 150' of garden hose. The pump runs continuously for 5+ hours without issues in this process.
Question:	Will clothes washer hoses fit on this pump
Answer:	The pump itself fits a garden hose nicely. You can buy the attachment package listed next to it for the converter piece. It only came to around $8.00. It also comes with a larger hose. I didn't need it for my spa but if you need to empty a washer or bigger pool it seems like it would come in handy. Hope that helps. Good luck. :-)
Question:	Can this be user to flush a tankless heater with vinigar
Answer:	I bought the pump for this very reason. I'm not sure if it is rated to handle vinegar, but at the price I figured I'd try it and see. I have two tankless water heaters, and I wanted a pump that could clean out both at the same time and this pump certainly does the job. I have a hose that runs from the pump, into a splitter. From the splitter I have two hoses going to each water heater (one hose per water heater). Even pushing water through two hoses, it still has a strong flow, with each hose pushing about the same flow as the water hose faucet outside your house opened wide open (guestimate). The splitter I have allows me to adjust the flow rate by closing off some valves if it is too strong. For just one water heater, i would think this pump is too strong (as it REALLY moves water), but I'm not a plumber so I couldn't say for sure. If I were to do it again, I think I would have purchased the 1/4 HP pump, or even the 1/5HP for cleaning out water heaters with vinegar. I cleaned out my water heater this week for the first time using this pump. I let it run for 2 hrs, and I noticed that it got warm (about the temp of a warm-to-hot bath). I'm not sure if that is normal, but thought I'd let you know.

Answer:	It does not have an automatic shut off which most small submersible pumps do not. It would need a float switch. Yes, you might burn out the motor if left running too long.

Answer:	It has no switch you basically just plug it in and motor should start. It's very quiet but definitely you will feel it. If not there is something wrong with it. :(

Question:	Do i need a kink free heavy duty garden hose
Answer:	Any standard garden hose works. I had issues with the “filter” getting clogged and the flow rate is pretty slow for an inground pool. And then the hose connector snapped off (epoxied back on) and it worked fine.
