12 best inflatable hottubs
Inflatable hot tubs are portable and easy-to-install alternatives to traditional, permanently-installed hot tubs. They have become increasingly popular due to their affordability, convenience, and versatility. Here's what you need to know about inflatable hot tubs:
Construction and Material: Inflatable hot tubs are typically made from durable and puncture-resistant materials, such as PVC or vinyl. The outer layer is reinforced to withstand the weight of water and the users. Many models feature multiple layers for added strength.
Portability: One of the primary advantages of inflatable hot tubs is their portability. They can be set up and taken down relatively easily, making them ideal for those who don't want a permanent fixture in their yard or patio. They can also be moved to different locations as needed.
Installation: Setting up an inflatable hot tub typically involves inflating it using a pump, filling it with water, and connecting it to a power source for heating and filtration. Most models come with clear instructions, and no specialized plumbing or electrical work is required.
Heating and Filtration: Inflatable hot tubs come equipped with built-in heating and filtration systems. These systems maintain the water temperature at your desired level and filter out debris to keep the water clean and clear.
Jets and Bubbling: While inflatable hot tubs may not have as many jets as permanent hot tubs, they often feature bubble jets or air jets that create a soothing and relaxing hydrotherapy experience. These jets can help relieve muscle tension and provide a spa-like experience.
Capacity: Inflatable hot tubs come in various sizes, with capacities ranging from two to six or more people, depending on the model. Be sure to choose a size that accommodates your needs and available space.
Temperature Control: Most inflatable hot tubs allow you to set and control the water temperature to your preference. They can heat the water to typical hot tub temperatures, usually around 100-104°F (37-40°C).
Accessories: Many inflatable hot tubs come with accessories such as inflatable headrests, cup holders, LED lighting, and digital control panels for ease of use.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to keep your inflatable hot tub in good condition. This includes cleaning the filters, treating the water with chemicals as needed, and storing the tub properly when not in use.
Cost: Inflatable hot tubs are generally more affordable than traditional, built-in hot tubs. While the initial purchase price is lower, it's important to consider ongoing operational costs, including heating and chemical treatments.
Winter Use: Some inflatable hot tubs are designed for year-round use and can withstand cold temperatures. However, it's crucial to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for winterizing and maintaining the tub in cold climates.
Inflatable hot tubs provide a convenient and cost-effective way to enjoy the relaxation and therapeutic benefits of a hot tub without the expense and permanence of a traditional installation. They are a popular choice for individuals and families looking to create a spa-like atmosphere in their own backyard or patio.

User questions & answers
Question: | I want to put this indoors, what should I put under it, and do I need a special outlet |
Answer: | This is a very nice little tub (I'm 6'2" and I enjoyed it). I bought a roll of reflective insulation to go under mine to aid in retaining heat. Otherwise nothing is needed under it and No special outlet. Just know there is a drain plug in the bottom. Mine never leaked and Bestway Customer Service was very good and quick to replace my heating unit when it leaked. You might want to put a HOT WATER HEATER Drip Pan under the heater (18 - 22") encase you need to disconnect the heater, it will capture the water from the pipes. Would've been great to have shutoff valves on the hoses and AIR hose!!! |
Question: | How do you drain water from the tub? Is there an adaptor for a garden hose |
Answer: | A garden hose adapter is provided that will allow most of the water to be drained. Once most of the spa water is drained, open the bottom drain valve on the pool floor to remove any remaining water. |
Question: | how long does the unit take to heat from beginning to 104 degrees |
Answer: | When I filled my spa, it took around 28-30 hours to get it to 104. Thats with the surrounding area at 45-50F degrees. The water started out at 54F degrees also, so roughly around 1-2 degrees per hour |
Question: | How much does it cost for electricity to keep it hot |
Answer: | Installed in my basement which has a constant temperature of 65 degrees in the Winter & 68 degrees in the Summer. My cost per kWh is $0.145. My $14.00 meter purchased through Amazon says 1$ per day to run the pump constantly, air jets on only occasionally, and water temperature automatically maintained at a constant 100 degrees. I am totally happy! I verified the kWh & cost manually by reading my house meter. Folks that paid more either have a tub located in a colder area and or have a much higher electric rate. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would it be dangerous to put this in an apartment? How stable is this for a 250 pound man and his 150 wife? How do you drain it if it is safe |
Answer: | i have this product I modern floor are rated for 400 pds per square inch I had it in a mobile home all set up and it was awesome it held my 600 pds in human plus the water weight I think it will be fine for you and your wife the room I had it in had no windows and it was more humid in there but no mold be sure to rinse the filters everyday and pool shock it every couple weeks it need like 2 table spoons of shock very in expensive and it is 400 pds per square inch any online research will tell you that |
Question: | Filled weight would be too heavy for a deck, right |
Answer: | It really depends on the deck. Your truck would put all the weight on only 4 points (the tires), and no way would I put that on a deck. But 2000 lbs from a spa like this is evenly spread out over a 77" diameter circle. My own deck has 2x8 joists, that only span 6 feet between leg supports, with 2x6 boards on top, and the joists are 16" on center. I would have no hesitation putting 1 ton of weight on that, spread over such a large area. ( I also doubt your truck only weighs 1936 pounds... that lighter than a small car!) |
Question: | can u use this in the cold |
Answer: | It does fine in the cold! We've been using ours in the recent 2 week cold snap. Our is sitting out on a deck with a piece of 1" foam board insulation under the ground cover. It has no trouble maintaining 104 degrees with the top cover on it. The heater can't keep up when the cover is open though. The temp will drop to 102 in about 30 minutes once the cover is open. And if you turn the bubbles on the temperature drops like a rock. Probably drops 2 degrees every 10 minutes with the bubbles going. My son and I were out in it the other day when it was 8 degrees and windy out. Only problem we had was our wet hair kept freezing into icicles LOL. Was awesome. Coldest I've been in it was 2 degrees the other night. I have no plans of turning it off at all this winter. I'm afraid to look at my next electric bill though. Also, be sure to be aware of the fact it automatically turns off in 3 days if you don't push any buttons. If it turns off in extreme cold for long I'd expect the pump to freeze and ruin the whole thing. I use it every night before bed and just play with the buttons a little. That seems to reset the 3 day timer. Also, you need to be aware that if you have a momentary power outage, the hot tub will not turn back on automatically, so if your microwave clock is flashing you need to go restart the hot tub :) |
Question: | Does it come full full or am I responsible for providing the water |
Answer: | As others have reported, mine also came with the dehydrated water cubes. After much deliberation, we decided to set the cubes aside and as we are water vegan. As a replacement, we went very green and decided to turn the heater on full blast and go with heated hot tub air! Very low impact on the environment...nothing is better that getting into a pair of trunks and settling down into the relaxing tub on 104 degree air...so so nice on your back. The pump provides great atmospheric bubbles of air up and down our backs! The only issue we have is the rapid temperature change of the air we already preheated. We do however get about 12 to 15 second air soak times after the cover is removed! Cheers! |

Question: | From the 1st step to the last is it hard to keep debris out of the pool? Thanks |
Answer: | It's unclear to me whether or not we're talking about a vinyl pool and a stone edging around it or is it a plaster pool as far as debris is concerned you need to look at the trees the wind direction and the time of the year generally if you're living in the east August would be the best time to do this |

In The Swim Patio and Deck Paint
In The Swim Patio and Deck Paint is a water-based acrylic non-slip concrete deck coating. Patio and Deck Paint can be applied to damp surfaces, cutting the time between site preparation and roller painting. First time applications will require a minimum two coats depending on surface porosity. Patio and Deck Paint should be applied with a 1/2" nap roller on smooth surfaces. Use a 3/4" nap roller cover on rougher surfaces. Coverage: 90 - 125 sq ft per gallon on average. If the outside ambient air temperature if above 80°F, wait 4 hours between coats. Curing time: Before foot traffic is 24 - 48 hours depending on the outside ambient air temperature.
Determine Area Size
Determining the square foot of the area you are coating is important. This will help you figure out how many gallons of paint are needed to complete the job. It’s important to take the surface porosity and smoothness into account when deciding how much paint to purchase. Start by measuring the length and width of the area. Once you have those measurements plug them into the formulas below. Divide that number by the coverage square foot of the coating you are wanting to use. That will give you the number of gallons that you should purchase. Remember to look and see if the paint requires a single or multiple coats and if it needs a primer.
Prepare the Surface
When preparing a surface for a coating of any kind it is important to clean the area. Start by sweeping, scraping, and scrubbing the area removing any loose debris. Then hose and scrub the surface with tri-sodium phosphate 10% solution. The solution will degrease and rid the surface of any unwanted contaminants. We suggest on smooth surfaces to do a light acid wash to etch the surface. The etching will allow the paint to adhere to the surface firmly. Hose and scrub the area again with the tri-sodium phosphate 10% solution. Hose completely clean. This will remove additional debris and neutralize the acid. Allow the surface to dry with no puddles or standing water.
First and Second Coats
In The Swim Patio and Deck Paint should be applied to a damp surface with no standing water. Use a 1/2" nap roller on smooth surfaces. Use a 3/4" nap roller on rough surfaces. Roll on the first coat of paint allow a minimum of 4 hours before starting the second coat. After the 4 hour wait you are clear to roll the second coat. Wait 24 - 48 hour before the area can take heavy traffic. Coverage: 90 - 125 sq ft per gallon on average.
In The Swim CRC Pro-Series Chlorinated Rubber-Base Pool Paint
In The Swim CRC Pro-Series Chlorinated Rubber-Base Pool Paint is a self-priming paint designed as a re-coat for existing rubber-base finishes. Chlorinated Rubber-Base Pool Paint has excellent chemical resistance and color retention, allowing the paint to last 3 years on average. Coverage: 250 square feet per gallon on average. This product should be applied with a 9" roller equipped with a 3/8" nap. Pot Life: Indefinite as long as it is properly sealed. Allow to cure 4 - 6 hours in between coats. Cure 10 days minimum before filling.

Drain Water
Now that you have selected the paint type and know the square footage of the interior, it’s time to drain the pool. Rent or purchase a submersible pump. As soon as the outside ambient air temperature drops below 85° F. Check the local code for where pool water can be drained and start pumping. If the outside ambient air temperature is above 85° F stop draining the pool. At these elevated temperatures, the interior surface can crack and lose its structural integrity. While the pool is draining, remember that you can start to prepare the pool for paint.
Prepare for Paint
Now that the pool has been drained, you can start to prep the interior for paint. Start by removing the perimeter return jets, pool/spa light, main drain covers, aerator fittings and any other item you don’t want painted. Using painters tape, carefully tape off all the tile line, step/bench tiles, return lines, and skimmer mouth. Once you have everything taped off it’s time to prime.
Primer Coat
Now that the pool has been drained and taped, it’s time to prime. Remember not all types of paint use a primer. So if you have paint that doesn’t use a primer, skip to the painting step. Roll the primer onto the interior surface of the pool using a 9” roller with a ½” nap, starting with the walls and ending with the floor. Once you’ve completed priming allow the prime to cure for 24 - 48 hours. Then it’s time to paint.
Painting Interior
The pool has now been drained, taped, and primed. It’s time for paint. The type of paint you choose will determine the number of coats. Start painting the walls first and finish with the floor. If the paint you are using requires a time period in between coats, make sure you take that time. It will allow the paint to cure and harden increasing its chemical resistance and life span. It is suggested for steps, shallow areas and wading pools, sprinkle sand on the coating before it dries to make the area slip-resistant.
Fill and Balance
Now that the pool is painted and the paint has cured, it’s time to fill the pool and balance the water. Depending on your area you may need to order a water truck to deliver. If you have a garden hose available, toss it in. The average pool should take anywhere from 36 - 48 hours to fill. Once the pool is full allow the fresh water to circulate for 3 - 4 hours. After the circulation period it’s time to complete the first water test of many on the new water. Make sure to test the water weekly to maintain proper water balance and overall pool health.

User questions & answers
Question: | its saying it cannot ship to my place in CA... why is that |
Answer: | CA requires a special energy efficient cover which apparently doesn't exist :( |
Question: | how do you clean it |
Answer: | Same as you would a pool. Buy a net to scoop out the big debris. If you use the proper chemicals, and put the cover on after every use, it really doesn’t get dirty. |
Question: | I’d like to know who has it and had used it in low temps |
Answer: | I was in it for over an hour and it went from 104 to 100 in about an hour in 39 degrees raining weather. We didn’t turn the bubbles on because the bubbles are just cold air being pumped into the water which cools it much more quickly. With the blow up cover on it will get back to 104 in this weather in about 3-4 hours. It did take 3 days after set up for it to reach 104. |
Question: | Any suggestions for running it during freezing temps? I know it's not recommended, but I'm guessing it's fine as long as the heater runs continuously |
Answer: | Get some R10 2 inch foam board to put underneath. In colorado it regularly gets to the teens and so far I have no trouble maintaining 102 temp. The heater runs more during the cold months, but still cycles. |

Answer: | about 600 pounds of people.....e.g. six 100 lb. models with their legs all touching, or one 600 pound bather.... Just draw a 58 inch diameter circle on the floor and sit in it with a friend, and then you'll see how much room there is. It's great for 2 people, and amazing for one because you can float and stretch without any limits. |
Question: | How easily is it is stored when not inflated |
Answer: | it's like any man....10 minutes to drain and deflate, and fits in any corner of the basement. :) Seriously though, it's easy to store: it drains with a garden hose, the tower disconnects in 1 minute, then we just roll it into the basement. |
Question: | whats the heating time for this thing? ive had it on for 1 1/2 hours and its only gone up 2 degrees |
Answer: | Long time. Inflates in approx 10 mins, fills with water with two hoses, perhaps 20 mins +/-. However today it was semi sunny, 70 degs, tonight (evening 10 PM) it's 63 deg F, the heater was turn on around noon (forgot to look at the exact time) and it's currently only 76 deg. F. not really hot enough for me to jump into a spa at night. I'm going to let it go until the AM. So it would seem to take an entire day to heat up depending on how hot it is outdoors or if installed indoors, indoor temperatures. I'd say if it's a hot day in the 80s - 90s it will heat up much faster. I also have the cover on to help with the heating process. I'm uncertain what the hot tub is actually doing while heating? Must be pushing in very little hot water into the tub because one could heat up the hot tub using hot water and a water heater in a half hour or so. If you can run hot water from a hot water facet would significantly reduce the heating time. The instructions show not to put any water into the hot tub that's more than 104 deg. F so you would need to monitor the temperature of the hot water you're putting into the tub from your water heaters (many are set at around 120-125 deg. F , some lower and some higher. |
Question: | Will this float in a pool when filled with water |
Answer: | Depends. If the pool is filled with water, maybe, depending on how much water you've put in the tub. If the tub is filled with water AND the pool is filled with water, probably not. If the pool is empty and the tub is filled with water, it will sit on the floor of the pool. Of course, if you turn the tub over - meaning that it will not have water in it - it probably will float in a pool, assuming the pool is filled with water; if the tub is turned over and placed in a pool which doesn't contain water, it will not float as there will be nothing for it to "float upon." Hope this helps. |

Prevent Hard Water Build Up
Without our hard water treatment system, hard water build up limits water flow and reduces the life of your spa.
Advanced Technology Creates Suspended Crystals
The system generates an electro-magnetic field that agitates calcium and other minerals in the water, causing them to create suspended crystals.
The Included Filter Cartridge Does the Rest
The suspended crystals are then retained in the filter cartridge, leaving soft water in the spa.

Question: | If i just ordered this will i actually get it |
Answer: | Good luck with that! I too ordered on Oct 8th, was to be here Oct 22nd, then today Oct 29th. It shows it hasn't even shipped yet. After reading these other reviews I decided to call Amazon customer service. A 25 minute call and all they could offer was a $5 gift card! ( Not even worth my time!) I pointed out one customer was offered a replacement hot tub and another at least got a $40 credit, why was I not offered the same? I was told 'I don't know, the system will only authorize $5." It's ridiculous. What about the unfortunate customer that has been waiting since July?!! When I inquired if Amazon has contacted seller for an accurate date product will be shipped, I was simply told No. Amazon has been great in the past in situations like this, but I am very dissatisfied this time. I informed rep that when my hot tub doesn't show up again on the next date, I will call and expect much better compensation for wasting my time repeatedly. We shall see.... |

User questions & answers
Question: | how high are the seating |
Answer: | You sit on the floor of the interior, so whatever that depth is. I get a little high on chest level as a 5'9" (69") tall male. |
Question: | How do you get it to stay at104? Mine shuts off heat at 104 and then doesn't turn on until it gets down to 100 so it's hit or miss when I go to use it |
Answer: | I dont know if you necessarily can. I keep mine at 102 and it goes back and forth between 100 and 104 so the temp seems to be +/- 2 degrees or so. I believe this is to keep the heater from constantly running and give it a larger temperature interval to turn on or off. |
Question: | what voltage is the heater |
Answer: | The pump/heater unit is 110-120V. |
Question: | What are the dimensions |
Answer: | The exterior dimensions are about 70" square for the pool (just under 6') and the heater/pump sticks out of the middle of one of the sides around 18" and itself is 15" wide. From the outside the pool is just under 30" tall (and the heater/pump is a few inches shorter). |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the return policy |
Answer: | I don't think there is one, you would have to go to back to your order, then ask. Sorry, it doesn't show anywhere. BUT I am very happy with it, and I see no problems with pump or construction of the tub very sturdy. NO COMPLAINTS> |
Question: | Does it fit into a bathtub with a shower (for temporary use |
Answer: | Well, not unless you are creative. This is a temporary tub.... but worth the effort if you just need a soak from time to time. Also depends on how high the lip to your shower is. The blow-up tub is very flexible and if your lip is only an inch or two then it will just bend over it. I put the draining (foot) end in the shower and the other part jets out into the bathroom a few feet. I built a small platform for the tub to go on that is about four inches high and the length of the tub..( 5 ft or less) It works, but this is a silly tub and baths, though warm and comfy, have to be taken with a sense of humor. |
Question: | this may be a silly question but how do you fill it |
Answer: | A fish tank maintenance hose allows you to empty and fill it from the sink. They come in 10-100 foot lengths. |
Question: | Will this work for someone who is bed ridden |
Answer: | The answer is yes but with a catch (well, several catches actually). I use it for my wife. I wouldn't say it is easy but it does work. First we use a sling with a hoyer lift. Secondly, I have to raise the bath so that the lift legs can under it. I do this with two cinder blocks and a 3/4" piece of plywood (Interior grade sanded smooth)*. The Set-up: I first move the cinder blocks into place then take the empty hoyer and make sure that I can indeed maneuver it in between the blocks and that the blocks are spaced so that they can support the board/bath. We have a small bathroom with a narrow doorway so everything has to be just right. I then take the plywood board and place it on the blocks, I use a piece of 6 mil plastic on top to keep the plywood from getting wet and as additional protection for the tub, then I put the empty tub on the board. I purchased a shower head with a handle and also an extension so that it can reach the bathtub area with room to spare. From there, I fill the tub partially with the shower head, get my wife into the sling and wheel her into the bathroom and into the tub. She never leaves the sling by the way. You also have to account for your hoyer lift being able to raise your loved one above the lip of the tub. Since it is pliable, there is some leeway. If the above sounds like a lot of work, well, it is however, there is nothing like a bath and you can really get your significant other clean. I do a lot of bailing of water of course but I do have a siphon and today in fact I'm off to Harbor Freight to pick up a submersible pump (I need the water volume to calculate the output needed, came back to Amazon and saw this question. Pretty arcane knowledge I know). I keep the tub inflated and stored in the real bath tub, the cinder blocks are stored to the side in the bathroom, the board gets lugged from another room. Your loved one is worth the effort. *The guys at Home Depot were really helpful once I told them what I needed the plywood for. They cut it to my specs (It's a little larger than the tub), All I had to do is sand the edges a bit. |

User questions & answers
Question: | We’ve had our hot tub for a over a year but it really seems to be struggling to heat up now. It’s been 4 days and we can’t break 95°. Any ideas |
Answer: | Unfortunately, I have the same issue. I have had mine for over a year as well. It now takes several days for it to heat up, sending my electric bill through the roof. I just stopped using it. |
Question: | What chemicals do i use with this spa |
Answer: | I have liquid chlorine, pH plus and minus, and test my water 3 times a week with pool test strips |
Question: | Where can I get the right size tablets for the dispenser? 1 inch tablets are too large |
Answer: | I bought a floating rubber duck dispenser that holds three 3" tablets.. the dispenser that comes with it only chlorinated when the pump is on.. I just remove the duck when chlorinatation is at optimal levels.. in my book more control is key |
Question: | Hi,any idea how to prevent Helsinki hot tub from being scratched by cats on the terrace?thx in advance |
Answer: | I have cats that love to sleep on the hot tub (it's NOT a water bed). I have found that two large comforters covering the top keeps the cats' claws off the hot tub. I also have several swimming pool noodles circling the top of the hot tub under the blankets, just to make sure they cannot scratch the top. Seems to work for me! Good luck! |
