The Flow clear 2000gal Sand Filter is a highly efficient and way to keep clean water flowing through your above ground pool. It's also far more cost effective than running a traditional filter pump system! This is because the pump uses silica sand instead of a filter cartridge. During prolonged use a cartridge may need replacing every couple of weeks. Silica sand needs to be changed once every three years! The pump works by draining pool water through a hose and into the filtration system. Although water passes through the system with fantastic ease the silica sand is so compact that it traps dirt and debris. Filtered water is then pumped down a separate hose and into the swimming pool inlet. Separating debris from the sand, when the pressure gauge indicates that the corrosion proof tank is full, is a simple case of turning its backwash setting. Once it has been separated, a waste hose is attached and the rinse valve is turned, flushing filth and debris to a suitable deposit area. Answer:	50lbs to fill it to the "full" mark. However, it spits quite a bit of that out. You'll want to put it on the "flush" setting when you first turn it on to allow the excess sand to spill out on the ground. If you don't, it'll blow it into the pool.

Answer:	That is exactly what I purchased this pump for, to replace a cartridge filter. This is a great pump. I hooked it up to my skimmer and also used it to vacuum the bottom of the pool. While vacuuming the bottom you can bypass the filter & discharge the water from the pool to eliminate very fine particles.

Question:	is the 21 in filter use and 1.5 pump enough for a 28' round pool
Answer:	I purchased this filter and pump for our in ground hot tub. It moves a lot of water, but at times is difficult to get primed. It is not a self-priming pump. For an above ground pool that wouldn't be an issue. We've had it installed for almost two years and it's still working well. My pool pump is 2HP but my pool is much bigger than 28' dia.This pump would probably work fine for you pool. Again, not self priming though.

Answer:	Yes, this filter should work with your Intex pool. However, you will not be able to connect the standard 1-1/2" hoses (furnished with the Hayward pump / filter combo) to the pool itself since the Intex suction / discharge fittings (on the pool) are proprietary connections that are made for Intex hoses (i.e. 1-1/2" female slip nuts with O-ring seals). Note that the furnished 1-1/2" Hayward hoses are made to fit 1-1/2" hose (barb) fittings that are secured with a conventional hose clamp. In this regard, my solution was to purchase a Hayward SP1091LX Dyna-Skim Above-Ground Pool Skimmer and Accessory Kit (available from Amazon.com for $31.59). This kit required some minor cutting of the pool liner wall (with a sharp utility knife) to accommodate the skimmer (i.e. suction line) whereas the new discharge fitting (also included with the kit) fit the existing opening (hole) in the pool ... installation time took about an hour. An alternative to this skimmer / discharge retrofit would be to purchase adapters that will provide standard 1-1/2" hose barb connections on the Intex pool for the Hayward hoses. You'll also need 200 lb (4 - 50 lb bags) of pool filter sand for the 21" Hayward filter available from your local home improvement store (about $5.00 / bag). Hope this helps.

Answer:	I would say no, this pump has a filter basket but it’s mainly used to prevent particles getting into the pump “basically a can can”. Answer:	I have a saltwater pool also. The reel is aluminum. The hardware is steel with chrome plating, the legs are steel with plated chrome plating and rubber and the wheels are steel with painted hubs. So far after owning this 4 years I believe, it’s performed and lasted well. I have had trouble with the Velcro straps though and the plastic grips to attach the solar cover to the Velcro strips on the reel. Very cheesy way to mount.
Question:	Is this reel adjustable, meaning if I buy a 20 foot, can the pole be 16 feet, without the extra length
Answer:	Yes. When you put it together there is two sections that slide, one inside the other. Like a curtain rod, you adjust the length you need. So, it supports up to 21 foot in length, you only need 16 foot, you initially adjust it to your need. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see the difference in circumference at the half way mark.

Answer:	I have a 16 mil 36 ft long on this reel with no sag.

Answer:	yes the clips do puncture the cover but thats how they attach to the cover, the straps then attach to the reel with a sticky substance and velcro pieces, but the sticky doesnt last long, my husband actually drilled the straps onto the real with screws and that keeps the straps in perfectly. i dont know what hooks your reffering to though..

Answer:	The cover we received was blue and 12mil, but I believe that there is a cover that's silver/grey in color,supposedly more heat reflective into the water. (Also more expensive.)

Answer:	You can cut to have an over lap up the sides of the pool it helps to keep the leaves out of the pool, if you have a reel to roll it up for storage, it must be the same width of your reel poles.

Answer:	The box says the platform needs to be at least 49.5 X 70.5 but you can have it as large as your space will allow. Train sets are made to grow as you add more engines and rolling stock.

Question:	Where can we get replacement parts
Answer:	O-36 refers to the curve radius. Lionel makes fastrack curves of 36, 48, 60 and 72 inches. This track will work with all of them.
Question:	what is the voltage and amperage of the pump
Answer:	I did not attach the track to plywood. With the base that comes with the track it seemed to stay in place without tacking it down, since I don't leave it up after the holidays, this probably will not answer your question, but it is the best I have to offer
